ESL Needs Ping Caps

  • I'm quitting the game cause the higher ping the more of an advantage you have. In a scrim playing dog I out peeked Jaime (normal ping) 5/6 times (but then Ralf peeked mid and always got the trade :(). Yet in ESL a 120-140 ping out peaks me 5/5 times from cat to dog. 3rd world kids clearly are Gods at this game.

Thats not how the game works lol

or you just got dumpstered by someone that you think is worse than you and are making excuses
  • or you just got dumpstered by someone that you think is worse than you and are making excuses

I got dumpster by a 130 ping player when I could out peak most players in that certain area the last few days.

so because he has 130 ping that automatically makes him worse than those other players?

60 ping difference should be an advantage, I mean in GO it's very evident. Very smooth mechanics. In CF I guess not.

I'm just blown away how practicing that one spot for the last week and out peeking players 2/3 times (not that I'm that good, just was a "hot spot" lately and it was also against some high calibre players) and all the sudden get ROFL'd stomped? Even Reid said "wow Saint, that's your spot" in a scrim this week.

Ignore me, I'm just mind blown how ping makes no sense in this game. DC'ing for the entire OT didn't help mind you.

    well if x0tek said that....
  • If that happened, Zilla, Kryptaknight and im sure many other NA players would be unable to play. Having low ping has more advantages than having high, you probably just got out played, you need to know how to use your ping and how to play against people with higher. Peek them first, you will see them first with your lower ping.
  • well if x0tek said that....

Haha, I see what you did there.

Honestly perhaps that's his hot spot or maybe he is in fact an incredible player. It's just that after playing GO you realise how absurd this game's mechanics are. I mean the first half I was 1 tapped from bridge (same high ping player) through a small crack in the window. I mean when I was in UK with 140 ping 1 taps were next to impossible even an AFK player cause it took 2 secs to reg. .

Point being I don't know why non North American (Canada, USA, Mexico) are allowed to compete. Just saying.
  • Saint.... LMAO.

Sure, lets cut down our community players even more when we're trying to build it!

    This is just beyond stupid.
  • ITT: butthurt kid getting outplayed.

    Stick to community edits

Can you please stop the high ping is an advantage circlejerk?
It's ****ing evident people on high ping don't reg for ****. Sure we have a peeking advantage but everybody in the game does cause it's coded badly.

On GO high ping is incredibly bad. I play 128 tick servers on 10 ping and reg perfectly but anything higher than 50 means my shots are delayed meaning I'll always waste 3 or more shots after somebody is dead, because I won't know whether or not I got them.

You do not know what you're talking about. Especially on CrossFire where the bullet registration is terrible even on low ping, having any ping above 100 means you'll never reg a shot on somebody who's mid air, China stepping or even simply walking backwards.

shut up ****** you suck at csgo
  • Higher ping should only ever hurt you.

You get the same amount of advantage over them as they get over you.

    Don't get peeked.

Lmao, don't blame the ping, if you can't hit your shot, that's your problem.

Pro tip for a baddie like you. If your getting outgunned on dog from cat 5 times, maybe you should have stopped peeking that spot after the 2nd time?

Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.

The source engine uses completely different netcode from the cf engine. Also in the source engine 60 ping isn't a huge advantage. I played a whole season of cevo-main with 250 ping and it didn't affect me much all (outside of being high latency).

Peakers advantage is a clearly defined thing in the source engine. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2999361

Doop why did you need to post that. It's much more fun watching cf kids think they know what peek advantage and interp are.

Exactly, glad you could agree with me

It wasn't losing fire fights that annoyed me. I landed shots and was out shot, part of the game. It was getting shot through very limited areas, jumping down, or bhing that blows my mind.

Anyways, basically everyone is agreeing with my satirical statement. So I'm satisfied.

Clearly didn't read my recent post then.

Let me explain what a satire is (bing dictionary):
    • use of wit to criticize behavior: the use of wit, especially irony, sarcasm, and ridicule, to criticize faults
    • literary work using satire: a literary work that uses satire, or the branch of literature made up of such works
You see mental abilities is completely irrelevant and in fact, I've outwitted most here. A satirical approach is a great way to gain publicity and eventually support. I stated opposite of what my argument is and was sarcastic in a serious manner. This immediately gets attention and also gets many to state facts and opinions. Ironically these facts and opinions where exactly what I wanted to bring up.

Of course low ping is better, its not rocket science. I approached it with this logic as many people would have probably jumped on irrelevant things if I straight up went about it.

Doop. he (and others in a round about way) stated exactly what I want to get at. Head on the nail. If you do indeed have over 100 ping it becomes very difficult to land certain shots. Once you start entering the range that I am ranting about (120-140) landing "x0tech crack shots", air regging, regging Asian walk, bhing, and simply peeking first is difficult and a greater challenge. If I were to have saved that replay there where too many times when you would've guessed that I had the 140 ping. My latest posts have been related to just this major point if you read them.

Either way, I guess it just means that this guy is the best CF player global if he can 1 tap small cracks, reg air, and flat out peak players at 140 ping. I mean at a steady 140ping in the UK server I find the 70-120 ping difference to the "average" ping very difficult. Koodos to him.
  • Either way, aside from the ping issue I am curious of why players south of the equator are playing in NA ESL. If you say its to "grow the community" I would suggest to invite the EU community over and maybe we could hop on ES and EU leagues as well.

If that doesn't sound cool then perhaps players should stick to their geographical versions?

You managed to not do any of those...

You sure you aren't just a horrendous player?

I may be mistaken, but the player you are calling 3rd world is from europe. Since you seem to have an obsession with cs:go, you should know europe is far ahead of us first world NA players when it comes to skill.

I guess it doesn't matter in the end. There's no way someone who can't even tie their own shoes, can capitalize on a 60 millisecond advantage.

Outside of you and your clans horrendous performance in ESL cups, I am guessing the fault you are trying to criticize is National ESL allowing foreign players to participate?

I never called Europe 3rd world. (although Eastern Europe is pretty rough :()

    I know Europe rules CS

    I can tie shoes

Perhaps, but the fact that I hit a burst and do 28 and have a guy running across the map and hit his burst with 140 ping is annoying. You think I would reg first, but I guess I have no luck.

Point wise we should have 100 pts, but we never got our 40 from a couple of weeks ago. That would put us in the top 8. Not bad for practically just showing up to games

Considering you don't play this game anymore you and I play casually I probably have a better shot, your game sense would be far superior though and if you actually returned I would eat my words. Since you aren't though I'll flash my feathers.

Overall though I overreacted, but I think it brings up a good question about people opinions abou non NA players or teams competing within NA. If this is acceptable, some players and teams (from NA) could probably play from ES or EU and have twice the chance at money.
  • Lol at this thread. High ping is certainly not an advantage over low ping, you also called someone with 140 ping (I don't know about you but I don't know what other region from the world you can ping 140 to toronto servers except maybe hawaii) a 3rd worlder.

OP is clueless and inept, next
