Insane FPS lag

My settings/tips i use:
1. I use Advanced system Care 7 - to fix windows problems
2. Defragmenter 3.0 (from iobit) to keep C:\ and \ (where game in installed) in good shape (if you have SSD there is no need to be defragmented)
3. I set Virtual memory (or swamp file) to a fixed value - don't let windows use default because will increase and decrease that file all time and can cause some short performance down time.
4. Before start CF i stop all unwanted process like: windows update. antivir update.. etc (also can use Turbo Boost button from ASC 7 - IF you have a registered version)
5. Video Driver Settings: i set Vertical syncronisation : ON (is useless to have 200 FPS when my display only refresh 60 time / second )
So my FPS always stay on 60 FPS so I don't have anymore FPS spikes from 200 to 110 and back on 200 (this can cause important frame to be lost especially on precision aim ) + my video card will only render those 60 frame each second and don't need 100% of GPU power for rendering all FPS he can render (around 200-220) - therefore will run smoother all time
The thing is I can easily render 200 steady, its the damn random lags that get me. -

From your side (your PC) you can check your internet speed connection by running a speed test from speedtest.net - will also show you internet speed graphic - so if you have a good average internet speed BUT have many HI-Low spike speed - then the problem can be from your PC or from your internet provider (not provide you a constant speed)
As for you, go check your PC see what programms are running and use your internet connection ( yahoo messanger, utorrent, windows update, antivirus update, unwanted tollbars installed on your pc, etc) and close/stop those programs to free your internet connection before start CF.
Also use a wired connection from your PC to your home router/modem, Wi-Fi connection can create those lag problem.
Same if you have other PC/laptop/tablets/phones using your internet connection - all those device can create you lag in game because your internet connection will be divided by router to all those device.
Last and most unwanted situation - lag can be the result of some viruses - a good solution is to scan your PC for virus/malware by using an external solution as Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10
p.s. Game tips - play only on close CF server - where your ping is lower. Example: i play only on UK servers = ping stable to 54, on all other servers i have over 140 ping all time ...
My ping is not lagging.
My fps is.
Randomly.
About 1/minute it goes down to 10 for 2-3 seconds. This only happens when CrossFire is open.
I havent found a fix anywhere. Running it in compatability mode does not solve anything.
Please help. -
I'm having a similar problem, my fps is constantly dropping to 140... I didn't have this problem so severely until recently. Also these random server lags aren't too much fun. I have found that if i minimize the screen and go back in while in game, my fps drops to a solid 50... Z8 needs to fix their crap, this is not pc side, it's strictly server side.
compatability won't help, there is no fix other than having a massively overpowered graphics card/pc. Best option if you want your fps to stay stable, do what the other guy did and weaken the hell outta your pc. -
I agree this is not our systems' fault it because of the crossfire.exe executable. There is something going on inside that executable that is causing too much CPU usage which is the main reason of the frame rate drops. Z8games needs to release a fix for this ASAP. I have already tried every possible optimization techniques and work around and the game still has FPS drops. Even disabling all of the windows aero theme and using the old blue skinned theme with no visual effects doesn't make any difference.

Can you actually confirm its the EXE file?
And Z8 cant do anything legally to change that... Right? -

Well, window's task manager shows crossfire.exe as the only process consuming up to 90-100% of the CPU. And that shouldn't be happening.
A few weeks ago I had webroot's secureanyware antvirus installed on my system and it detected that crossfire.exe had a Trojan. But how do you fix that without deleting the exe file? Now I use Avast antivirus and it doesn't detect anything wrong with crossfire. I don't know what's happening exactly but there's something wrong with the crossfire.exe file for sure.
I think z8games could fix all this with an update -

Z8 cannot fix it. Even if they wanted to. Smilegate can. But they won't. They don't care. -

Dude I have the same problem a long time and my Nootbook is not wooden as you informed. Many players have much more advanced settings than the crossfire asks for as recommended. I have an Asus ROG Strix GL703, Intel I7-8750H, Nvidia 1060 8GB, 16GB RAM, Windows 10 Pro 64bit. So do not tell me that the problem is on the computers of the jagadores that this excuse does not work anymore. -

Use GPU-Z from here : https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/ , made a screen shot with graphics card details (as it show on download page) and post on your reply .. so we can see if is your GPU capable to sustain high FPS or not ... and what other settings you can do on your PC.
