  • I would definitely not buy the one from ebay.

The one from newegg is nice but im sure you could build one thats better and less pricey.
  • it's worth the effort to build your own pc, you gain a lot of knowledge and it will also cost you less money
  • Do you need a monitor. i can give you a suggested build. also whats your budget?
  • you have this much to spend and want to buy a prebuilt?
  • The first one just made me laugh. "Extreme gaming PC" and it has a quad core AMD CPU and an HD 7770. Comical. The second one has a good CPU but a garbage GPU. If they included, say, a GTX 760 or higher, I'd say it's maybe worth the price.
  • I honestly suggest what everyone else is suggesting.

There are youtube tutorials on how to do everything basically.
And it'll give you a better understanding of each component and how it possibly works.

Yes please give me a build, my budget is 600 and under

the newegg link is 1grand, after taxes and shipping you'll pay close to 1,200

with 600 you'll be lucky to run cf 200fps 1v1
How much did your rig cost?
  • i have a $900 rig, with the 144hz asus($200) and run cf @ 200 fps and cs @ 200+ fps.

bf4 gets me 60fps with everything maxed out.

    lol what
  • If all you're doing is playing CF and CSGO, don't invest heavily in a GPU. Spend your money on a good i3 and overclock it. If you don't feel comfortable overclocking. Get a 3rd gen i3 instead.

    Don't listen to these donkeys.

Because these games don't rely heavily on GPUs and multi-threading, you can easily break 200fps with a good dual-core processor. My friends old E8400 @ 3.6GHZ did ~160fps easily. I have a ****ty non OC'd q6600 and I get a good 120FPS.

If you want to play other games in the near future, a GPU upgrade path is a lot more convenient than a CPU upgrade.

This is how I would suggest distributing your funds.

    110$ i3- 4130 (look for deals)
    80$ Z87 Mobo
    75$ 8GB CAS 10 RAM (Don't waste money on a cas 9 set)
100$ HD7770 (Will run source based games like CSGO great!)
80$ 1TB Barracuda or WD Green drive
70$ Any 650Watt PSU (Don't waste money on efficient or modular PSUs)
    70$ Any Case

    585$= Total Cost

This setup gives you an excellent upgrade path. Use the stock intel CPU cooler.

A second GPU can be added down the road for extra 3D goodness. Intel's Z87 chipset + 1150 socket gives you easy expand-ability for future chips and because it has all the latest SATA and PCIe controllers, you don't have to worry about future compatibility.

    Easy 200FPS CF machine.

PS: The Newegg build you posted doesn't even have storage.

Why on Earth would he need a 650 watt power supply with an I3 and an HD 7770...? "Don't waste your money on efficient or modular power supplies." GREAT ADVICE!

The 4130 CPU has a TDP of 54 watts... the 7770 has a TDP of 80 watts.

Get a 400-430 watt power supply if you're going with a build that weak.

This would be more than enough if you went with that build. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139026

    Cheaper case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119273

I'd go with an R7 260X before that terrible HD 7770, though the 260X is terrible in my eyes, too. It will be MUCH superior over the 7770, however.

he'd be crippling himself with that set up.

personally, as soon as i got a new PC, i started playing a ton of other games than CF/CS.

youre going to want a good graphics card, 7850 should do nicely.

He said he wanted to play CF and CF and that build is more than adequate for those 2 games. I do agree that the 7850 is a better value proposition than the 7770 though.

The reason I recommended a more powerful psu was to future proof the system and provide a greater upgrade path. Future cpu, gpu upgrades, SLI/CF video card setups and raid arrays will all need more power.

Furthermore, downsizing the psu doesn't yield particularly impressive savings so I don't see why he shouldn't spend 15$ to get a future proof psu.

And btw, you know the 260x is just a rebranded 7790 right? If you're going to spend 140 of a gpu, get a 7850 instead.

The 260X has slightly higher bandwidth than the 7790. The 7850 is, however, the fastest card of the 3.

  • Get the gpu nVidia GTS 450 and intel i7 3770k. Cheap as fudge and totally built for games like css and cf. You will need around 450 watts power supply and you won't need any of the new motherboards. Just google the socket for i7 3770k and buy a motherboard with that socket. 4-8 GB ram is enough nowadays but I expect 8 GB to be the new standard soon enough.

I have got it in my 2nd pc and I get 230fps and around 350 in css. The pc is 4 years old and still manages to get 230fps so it is good. My 4500 dollar pc with quad sli gtx 690 and 6core i7 3930k get 210 fps lul but maxes any other game.

Good advice. Pair an ancient GTS 450 with a 3770K to bottleneck the **** out of it.
