Regarding OCG Bans

lol .
And the website does give a reason.
You can go check it out in Zilla's case.
And Zilla, I already told you, I cant do anything about it.
"Cheating" - refers to an immoral way of achieving a goal. It is generally used for the breaking of rules
It's also against the rules to have cheats on your computer. Pretty much means he broke any rule. So what's the point of having a "Reason:" there if you guy's aren't going to specify? -
I am more concerned about nick even though he quit CF. Not going to lie though, Zilla did help motivate me for this proposal.
sorry to rain on your parade, but nick (tee.hee, wetness, [n]cov) cheated. he played with us for almost a year and he cheated a good amount of it
sorry
and this is assuming i'm talking about the right nick -

This thread just wasn't for Zilla. OCG's banning policy is immature and complete horse ****. The amount of legit players they've banned is disgusting. I'll be bold and say 3/4 of OCG bans were for some random internet searches or programs that people aren't aware of (example download kill marks from a sketchy site, get some unidentified files with download, boom banned.)
The players you've banned have a lot of experience in Tournaments and competitive CF, being able to perform on so many previous anti-cheats and even the current ClientX.
Why doesn't OCG strain themselves for a moment, use their brains, and logically think this through. Why would long time competitive players risk their "membership" with the most dominant organization for competitive CF? They know that OCG will be here for awhile so they aren't going to risk it. Besides these players have competed in dozens of previous organizations, performed on ACs, and bandi's. Logically it doesn't make sense, why cheat on 1 pool match that essentially means little and risk never playing again. Besides most of these people can provide bandi's or clean TV's.
The only thing I have against OCG is the fact that their boss is the most mentally downed child to ever touch an online game who now thinks he posses the logic to run a professional league. His staff seem to have the only logic to actually listen and respond to what the community says. I apologize for insulting for that never helps ones case, but you must understand the frustrations of mine and so many others. It's fu***** ridiculous how OCG thinks that banning players permanently is ok when they can't even confirm that they were cheating in the actual game. BANNING ON ASSUMPTION is like a player creating a bust video of another and Saidin agreeing to whatever the accusing player says. -

A immediate permanent ban for "hacking" is rather harsh, particularly when many of your victims weren't. Instead I would:- First "offense"/detection player's team forfeits and loses the match.
- Second "offense"/detection player is banned from the current event (example OCG Super Series 3, after that he/she can come back) and the team forfeits the match.
- Third "offense"/detection the player is permanently banned from OCG or one year ban. Should the player be on a team for all 3 offenses the team will not only lose the match, but forfeit the series/tournament.
Edit: Bumped my rant
Double Edit: Removed insult -
I support season/event-bans for cheats found on a player's computer.
Permanent bans are either useless or harmful.
My suggested compromise is as follows:
1. Commute all current ban sentences to a setting within the next 3 months.
2. Reform your ban policies so that first-offense bans last half of the OCG "season", that all subsequent offenses result in 1 "season" ban. -

I second this. gj reid -

Thank you for the suggestions.
At this point, the banning policy will remain unchanged.
When the Winter Cup concludes, and OCG takes a small hiatus, I will review this policy and possibly make changes. I am not confirming anything, just letting you guys know what my plan of action will be.
However, one thing that will remain unchanged is:
If a player gets caught with Crossfire hacks on their computer, they will be banned permanently.
Feel free to continue discussing this topic, however keep it civil. If you would like to speak privately, either PM me or message me on xfire(konradv2). -

Thank you, but I still don't like the blue. Doesn't make sense at all. Permanent bans on assumptions isn't very professional in my opinion, particularly when a lot of your banned players have a solid and clean bill.
Unless you have proof that they were cheating in the actual match, perm bans are ridiculous, especially when players can provide a bandi. Instead, a temp ban and an explanation is reasonable and fair. Although the player is banned from the event, you can say "Hello bud, we have detected cheats on your computer and cannot allow you to continue to compete in this event". This allows the player time to figure out whats causing the problem and perhaps get OCG to help them identify the file.
THIS IS ONLY FOR THE PLAYERS THAT WERE BANNED ON ASSUMPTION, AKA NO PROOF ON CHEATING IN MATCH
I say this because a lot of players perhaps cheated in 2010-2011, downloaded bots, or ZM cheats. Although they should be punished for remaining files (thought that they were deleted/removed, but still around), they aren't cheating anymore or using them in the match, hell they're outdated. Everyone was stupid at first in this game or at some point, but getting banned from OCG for an eternity for something you aren't even doing is rather disappointing.
If the clientx can't detect what's going on ingame then OCG obviously needs a new or upgraded anticheat.
I came up with this conclusion after talking to Nick from Veracity, since he quit CF he said I could share this. Apparently around 2 weeks to the OCG event that banned him he downloaded ZM hacks from a friend (mediafire) to get the 100 crater win ribbon. Although they have no affect on competitive matches he was banned permanently. A temp ban I completely agree with, but a perm ban...that's ridiculous. He had his bandi/replay too, which looked fine by the way. Oh and Trace saying "he was on a hack site 2 days prior" is complete bull fesses because his CC Cleaner deletes/clears internet files every day and he also manually clears it. Don't know where OCG got that info. -

I'm sorry, what? Do not sit there and put words in my mouth because I haven't or at the least do not recall saying such. -

I'll check my facebook chat history. I believe Konrad or Purvis told me this, but I should've actually talked to you to see if it was true. Sorry.
