Regarding OCG Bans

I'm hoping some OCG staff come across this thread and I would appreciate if I could have some of your time.

First of all OCG has emerged as a main partner for competitive CF NA and many other MMO's. Not only have the staff proved that they can run successful and organized events, but companies such as G4 Box have recognized them as partners. The AC has gone from trash to one of the most effective ACs on the market. However, it is regarding the AC and it's bans that I wish to discuss.

Over the past months the AC has banned many well-known competitive players from OCG, players that have been legit and have competed for many ACs and tournaments for many years. Talking too many of them they are confused that they were able to compete for past ACs and even the new ClientX OCG AC for many matches, but all the sudden get banned from OCG. Not only does this mar their reputation, but it severely hurts their competitive participation as OCG controls a majority of CF Competitive.

I have several propositions, particularly to Evan.

1. Unban the players who were not hacking in-game: I personally knew two players who were competing in OCG fine and past events without any difficulties, until they were suddenly banned. They both were confused. The one I have been friends with from 10 and he and his brother cheated on CF until his brother quit and I convinced him to join competitive with me. I TV'd him every few days at first, but once he tasted the competitive side of CF he loved the challenge and went legit from 2011-2013 when he was banned in his second OCG series. He performed on every other AC fine and he even still had his bandi. The other had his bandi as well, did more competitions, performed better, did more OCG, performed on ClientX, but then got banned.

My first proposition is to unban the players who were not hacking in-game, but banned out of suspicion.

2. Unban all current players: I propose this if you can't tell who was hacking in-game. Since OCG is/was in its "beta stage" it would make sense that these players were banned for the "beta OCG" and their ban served as a warning.

My last proposition/idea is your ban process.

A immediate permanent ban for "hacking" is rather harsh, particularly when many of your victims weren't. Instead I would:
  • First "offense"/detection player's team forfeits and loses the match.
  • Second "offense"/detection player is banned from the current event (example OCG Super Series 3, after that he/she can come back) and the team forfeits the match.
  • Third "offense"/detection the player is permanently banned from OCG or one year ban. Should the player be on a team for all 3 offenses the team will not only lose the match, but forfeit the series/tournament.
Those are my suggestions and propositions that I honestly believe will benefit OCG and the players. I strongly request and suggest that OCG consider this thread. I talked to many many players and this was all their ideas and inputs.

IF YOU SUPPPORT THIS PROPOSITION "+1" THIS THREAD Feel free to add ideas as well.

Thanks for your time,

Saint

  • We appreciate your feedback and suggestions. We'll look into this over the next few days and make an announcement when the time comes.
  • if you have to cheat in this easy game you bl0w d1k!
  • The only reason you're suggesting any of this in the first place is because of Zilla. The only idea that you provided that I seem to agree with is unbanning people permanently that weren't banned for hacking.

First offense for hacking = A disqualification for the match? Home tournaments would just DQ the whole team from the tournaments for something like that.

This is just a poor excuse to try and get zilla unbanned, nt though noob.

Why would you need to look over this/make an announcement. Ocg has already stated that they will ban people that have hacks on their pc.

So you either banned people without any proof (which wouldn't surprise me) or you banned people with proof and they should stay banned.

not exactly just to get zilla unbanned lol theres other players like dan for example banned for unknown macros on his comp that he was not aware of

Cuz i wasn't actually caught for cheating but for having apparent cheats on my pc

But for real, I've played with ocg from the beginning (during ocg launch tournament) up until i was banned. With that being said, Evan had also invited me to his ventrilo when ocg first began, and showed me proof of one my former teammates cheating. What makes you think I would even have the guts to cheat after that?

Standout played in super-series 1 and I performed above average (for all you ****ties that think I blow on client) and we were able to make it up till 3rd place on the alpha brackets. What makes any of you think I would want to cheat after playing so decently. During the super series michealx205 disputed me, and there were no problems.

Now after joining undaunted and playing my first match with them in ocg, I left for my trip and that's when I got banned for cheating (which makes no sense once again cause undaunted is sponsored by ocg and I would look like an absolute ****** if I cheated in their tournament). According to trace; they were not able to tell whether or not I was cheating during the match (which makes absolutely no sense as an AC is used for that purpose), however I still have the bandicam for that match if anyone doesn't believe me.

As for my previous match in ambition cup(1 hour prior to the OCG match), I played "very well" and I'm aware that my ex-teammates might have thought that I have cheated so I took the time to upload that match: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ee3-Q2f5YQE (mainly for pimpdemnikes because he seems to be the most concerned).
  • stop being such an idiotic league, ffs.
zilla was banned for cheats you don't even want to show him when they were on his computer apparently? damn.
And btw, your professional OP league which supposedly has people on vent for support and shizzle has zero.
now cmon, atleast if you're gonna bann my team mate, show us the cheats that he had, you scums

they won't release information (in my case because they didn't have it), trust me
  • Idk, I think OCG is improving. They're taking people's advice, and the staff is maturing up.

I am more concerned about nick even though he quit CF. Not going to lie though, Zilla did help motivate me for this proposal.

Many of the people banned were legit and unaware of malware or macros. Lots from killmarks or sound mods. Those people have been in competitive for years and have performed on ACs in the past.

I recognize this as well. OCG is emerging as quite the organization.

What I quoted can be a positive or negative.

    1. It's kind a bs how you can go through every tournament while playing on their anti cheat without a problem and now all of a sudden you get banned

    2. There's still a possibility that you downloaded cheats in the time period that you weren't playing in OCG > The day you got banned from OCG. There's no way they're old cheats because you played in every OCG event, but that's IF you got banned for cheats on your computer and not just cheating in the match overall.

I'm not sure if they're allowed to show proof of the cheats found, but if they did with DEEZY, then I see no problem with Zilla.

The rest of what you typed Zilla could be true, but somewhat could be a cover up. YOU JUST DON'T KNOW. We can't take your word for it, because you can go either way. Do I personally think you cheated? No. But if they unbanned you for taking people's word, they might as well do it with everyone else, and that's just not going to happen.

Call 2 Action: If Evan gave out information about other people's ban, then he should have no problem doing it with zilla. Not sure if it's against your policy, but just do the right thing.

Although I do think permanently banning someone from your league for just having cheats on their computer is harsh. It should be just the current league, or a certain amount of matches. If they played the match while using hacks, then yes, a permanent ban from OCG overall would be necessary.

    Just my opinion.

pretty sure they said he was using them during the match

According to zilla, trace said they weren't so sure. And if that's true, then their system of banning players is pretty corrupt.

I never talked to Zillah regarding his ban.

Ill gladly put you back in if you can tell me why OCG staff found Crossfire Cheats on your computer (They could not say if they were used in our match last night) But they were there.

It just bugs me that I was permanently banned from OCG while I was not cheating.

Or at least I don't recall it, which isn't like me. If he has the bandicam and wants to upload it, by all means. The ban's not gonna be reversed as far as I'm concerned.

Can I know something? Was he banned for having cheats on his computer, or using cheats during the match?

No, you may not. Sorry, but its a policy.

Pretty sure the AC picked up something on his computer that declared it as cheats.

For DAN's example, he had macros on his computer he was unaware of and he had been banned from OCG.

somebody from ocg explain this for a sec, he also had the bandi for the scrim too and uploaded it to his channel

So why is it ok for Evan to give Zilla a SS that OCG's anti cheat picked up on DEEZY cheating? And how is it against your policy when you have a thread on your website that gives a reason anyways, but didn't specify on zilla's ban?
