Z8Games can't really make a contract with anyone, since it's not actually a company. It's a name of a website.
G4Box who is a division of and owned by Smilegate Interactive currently licenses a product from Smilegate to host servers in our licensed regions.
Smilegate is under contract with Wiselogic to integrate the X-Trap anti cheat system into the game.
At this moment in time there are no plans to integrate any other anti cheat systems within CrossFire. We here believe that both the ESG and OCG Anti Cheats are great, and perfect for maintaining competition amongst our e-sport and competitive community. In addition, we fully support and are deeply greatful for their use and applaud the efforts of the codes who make the programs, without them surely this discussion and much of the competitive community would have moved on. But at this time there are no plans to scale those up game wide as they might be in conflict with licenses and contracts issued by the ownership and development group.
We are constantly exploring options to improve the game, MyAntiCheat and the OCG Client have been a part of that discussion, but at this time a solution to the hacking situation does not involve game-wide forced use of their anti cheat.
Now to reference some of your other points.
"Bootcamps" are only as big as the community itself. And we're looking to really foster a growing competitive community especially in 2014 with all the things we've hinted at so far. New sites, cash prizes, possible LANs, but more so a boat load of tournaments and ways to compete and be involved.
Competitive players will hear about CrossFire because of the level of competition, the prizes offered and exposure on related websites. This is completely independent of the use of any anti cheat. Increasing the level of competition will bring more competitive players to the game, which is what our goal is.
A lot of your points are not made to justify the use of an anti cheat. They are great points about what we can do to foster a better competitive community. It's unfortunate that you can't see it from my perspective, mostly because I can't tell you all the great things we're going to be doing for 2014. All I can say is that you'll want to be involved, and that it will be worth your time to stay involved and stay competitive in CrossFire.
To address your post about coming in here and saying something that doesn't answer anything.. Why do you ask questions of which you know the answers?
You and Denxi just don't get it do you? There ARE "professional" Echo 8 players who actually DO like to pub sometime, whether it'd be in Alpha or Echo. It doesn't mean that just because people play in Echo 8 are only in-game to scrim. They like going to pubs once in a while in Alpha (or other servers) and play. There are rampant cheaters everywhere in every mode. I realize that there are cheaters in every game. But this is just getting to the point where CrossFire is looking like Combat Arms back in '08.
Yes this community is growing and SHOULD be growing. Every competitive player wants that, right? But what about the new players that hear of this game and want to try it out, be competitive, and the amount of hackers just makes this game unattractive to them?
Now I know it isn't easy to just drop X-Trap to be CrossFire's main anti-cheat program, as you guys may have a contract or such with them, but don't go to the Announcements section on forums and gladly tell the community that most of the hackers should be gone right after a major X-Trap patch. After that patch NOTHING has changed and everyone laughed. I really do hope you were embarrassed by this. And let me clarify this is not the first time you made a major announcement which backfired because you hastily announced and have not "checked" whether a fix really did fix anything. -

You need to re-read my posts. How exactly do I "not get" that there are cheaters everywhere? Nothing I've posted gives that idea. All of my posts were posted with the intent of clarifying the original post and the reasoning behind the discussion. -
Having a joke of an anti-cheat is probably the reason for this, i'm sure a few idiots from this community can huddle up and write a better code after watching a few YouTube videos.
.
Coders are faster than patchers. One gets patched and they release the next one right away, and while who ever codes for xtrap finishes patching a hack, the coder for the hack already has one ready to release.
But you know nothing about coding anyways, why am I even typing -
The game will never grow into the hype people compose, because of the problems this community faces.
Problems will never be fixed until they are fully-acknowledged in the first place.
The players quitting from the competitive scene compared to players joining the competitive scene ratio is leaning most to the quitting end
Having a joke of an anti-cheat is probably the reason for this, i'm sure a few idiots from this community can huddle up and write a better code after watching a few YouTube videos.
All pro's start off as amateurs, and when they start a game they jump right into the head-to-head action of team deathmatches, search and destroys, etc.
This wouldn't be done in echo-8, but in Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie servers. New players after getting completely destroyed by players(this would be normal) and strive to improve but fail to do so because so many cheaters will always have the upper advantage(aimbots, walls, no-spreads, etc). These new players will give up before they even try out competitive, and the loyal players in the scene will lose motivation to continue and play since these practice servers or "pubbing" are completely infested by these foreigners that shouldn't even be here in the first place.
The past two WCG 2013 events; both USA and Canada totaled 5 teams compared to atleast 10 last year.
The scene will continue to diminish especially if players aren't able to practice or pub
It is cute to organize these friendly LANs like FG, ETS, and others but these just serve as a place holder for the community as is, we're losing more players than gaining. I have no idea why we would get picked up if half of the teams are subpar and don't have the right mindsets to win.
On the other hand, why is our version so garbage to the other versions? Why can't we do what CF EU has done where people that aren't in the region of NA / UK not be able to register accounts and play the game, why in the hell did whoever made the client for Brazil or whatever its called waste time making it if the majority of them are still in this version? Having a region cap would atleast lower the amount of cheaters in the game which is fine. The only reason this is such a huge issue as of now is because what Pimp said earlier, "the pub / practice servers are overflooded with cheating foreigners." Pimp made another good point about the long run effects in the community compared to the way its going now which I and more people agree that changes with who can play this game would benefit -

Derp. Because z8 would lose money. That's all they care about. -
Hey guys lets go play Arctic Combat!!! It's this brand new game without cheaters, and it's totally still around. If not, we can go play Sudden Attack or Operation 7. I heard their communities are deep and no cheaters at all in-game. Oh man am I glad the Crossfire competitive scene is virtually non-existent compared to the games I just listed, and I can probably name every f2p fps and it will still not compare to any of them.

You said on OCG in a interview a month ago, an announcement outlining some of 2014 event details would be coming soon in 2-3 weeks. When will this Announcement be made since its already been more than 2-3 weeks and what will we learn from it? -

Sudden attack suck so bad. -
This would potentially give them more money and revive the game on top of that. Let's be honest, bravo was almost full at nights during the week! Now there's barely any people there during the weekends. They clearly have to do something. Also, as I mentioned before, they would end up making A LOT more money.
I remember when all Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, and Delta Servers were full, now they are lucky to even keep Alpha Full..
It's ashame, and I think this would in fact be a step forward. -
I believe Saidin explained it pretty well. G4Box is not in the position to force players to use third party software(myAntiCheat or OCG ClientX). Those decisions are left up to Smilegate as they are the company that has the contract for X-Trap. Sorry guys, this won't happen. Many games have pub scenes that have cheating problems, but for now the competitive scene is still growing.

REALLY ? Those servers were full :? Now its so empty only alpha haha. -

the shiity thing about it is, it's hard to play a game, and really put time in it, to just have cheaters and lans that the same teams win, subpar players would get better if there were less cheats in the game. like you said, this game will "never grow into the hype people compose, because of the problems this community faces" all because of cheaters, the game has potential, the communitys mind set isint ALL there, but there has been more competition from different teams like this game has never seen. the game is definelty progressing, but it's hard to do so when z8games doesnt do anything to help boost the competitive scene -

You're not including the fact that other versions have been opened up in the recent years including CF LA/CF EU/CF RU, that has eliminated a lot of people that played this game before. If you went as far as eliminated the egyptians/turks/brazilians/latinos completely, I don't think Alpha would even be full. Game wouldn't be sustainable and end up closing down, part of the reason why they still won't and haven't full out banned those particular people. -

Complaint thread is complaint.
If you aren't giving this company money, your voice is unheard.
Look at it this way, if the "zp buyers" stop handing over money to Z8, they would have less money to pay the people patching the cheats. Z8 and Saiden are not stupid. They know that a healthy community = more money. That's why Saiden is a MANAGER and you are not. -
I usually dont come and post or complaint, but this is now out of hand to all the mods and saidin, i mean i cant even pub in SnD because there are like 3 or 4 hackers per side(PER SIDE!! PEOPLE!!). I am just really frustrated with this game. Makes me not want to play anymore. Not like it matters but i can already see a lot of people quiting this game, alpha barely gets full now days. This is a joke, but hey lets go patch the farmers bot which is more important than patching haks.

How are we supposed to compete with Chinese teams? They get to bootcamp, while American teams can't even get a decent warm up due to the fact that the game is flooded with cheaters. I feel bad for socks and kanata. Don't get me wrong, there were times where it would be hard to find a cheater but now? Damn. Just damn.
I tend to do a lot of TD and I literally haven't had at least one cheater in a game in 2 weeks. What is that? Why can't you make an agreement with myanticheat and have a server that requires you to run it? Are you scared of potential ZP buyers getting banned or what is your problem?
Edit:
At first I thought z8 wouldn't want to do it due to the fact that too many zp buyers would get banned but when you think about it, in a long run, z8 would end up benefiting. Not for the first few weeks or so but oh well. Sometimes you have to take a step back in order to move forward.
1. 90% of cheaters are not ZP buyers. People that buy ZP would buy even more because they would be able to play in peace again.
2. ZP buyers that quit the game could possibly come back to the game.
3. Competitive players from other games would definitely hear about it which could mean making the competitive scene larger.
4. Speaking of competitive scene, we would definitely be thrilled to finally be able to warm up and pub and not only get on to scrim at night + a possibility of starting to, or buying more zp.
5. More leagues and smaller tournaments for us to play due to the fact that it would be so easy to organize them. Once again, benefiting all the players.
6. Healthier community; whether it's the competitive or not, people would definitely act different. I can sense the frustration in pubs whether it's a random br, a random american player, or a competitive player. EVERYONE is upset. Healthier community = Profit$$$$$$$$$$
7. A lot more recognition for skilled players, which would only strengthen the already healthy community and make more players want to become competitive.
Clearly a competetive forum topic so don't you dare delete it.

Profanity removed. Infraction given. It doesn't matter whether this is a competitive topic, or who you are, it does not give you free reign to break the rules.
This is so true
Cheaters run this game. -
I've been playing this game for a long time (away from the competitive side except for random clan wars) I started off as a TD player..I quit because I literally no matter what channel I was in couldn't find a single game without hackers. I mean really the amount of hackers is just mind blowing, in TD there's always at least 2-3 hackers.
So then I became a SnD player, and this is probably the only mode where you can SOMETIMES get a good room that will kick any cheater that joins but then you have the high ranks that wall and there's not much people will do about it.
So then I moved onto escape mode... Oh geeze that's just a pointless mode anymore. The hackers just teleport into the portal, there's no defense against that.
So then I moved onto Ghost mode! And woooooweeee, sometimes it's fun to try and knife the cheaters before they get you (like when they're reloading) but the speeders and the 360 knifers are just too strong.
SO....After alllll that time I became a mutation mode player. Perfect since it doesn't affect my KDR (which is 1.8 sucks I know but I'll get that 2.0 ribbon sometime!) but the exp/gp is pretty low unless you're doing a 17 round game, and usually if you're doing halfway decent the noob higher pingers will kick you on the last round. It was a fun mode for awhile but now you join a room and there's like 7-8 speeders with long knife running around.
come on now There's literally no options left besides ZM. I even play in E8 sometimes and the hacks have invaded there too....
Also, I've noticed the amount of 150+++ pingers are outnumbering the 10-90 pingers to about 10-1 lol.... Please, PLEASE PLEASE make a Ping and Rank restricted server!! since 90% of the hackers are low ranks and high pings! I'd pay monthly just to be able to enter that server I love CF :(:( -
As expected, update didn't change anything at all. Just as many cheaters in pubs. Great.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Just went in the new halloween map atleast 6 cheaters spraying their m16s trough the wall with speedhaack. WTF. -
edw1NNNNNN wrote: »lol i have never seen this many cheaters in one room before.
Don't even bother typing anything, they'll just delete your post in order to hide the truth. Truly pathetic.
www.twitch.tv/pimpdemnikes streaming since I could log in after the patch, roughly 3 hours of pubbing and NOT EVEN ONE pub with less than 2 hackers. HAHAHAHA WAY TO GO Z8GAMES
