Rosters are updated.
Due to the fact that a 16-team round robin will take 15 weeks to complete, and an additional 4 weeks for the Single Elimination, Aero and I have decided to split the 16 teams into two 8-team pools, which will have a 7 week round-robin amongst themselves and the top 4 teams from each pool will advance.
Once 2 more clans sign up, we will be randomizing the teams and then splitting them into two pools.
The tournament is scheduled to start on August 18th. -
are you guys idiots? We are not a team. Just because competitive players wanted to join a good CLAN. To pub in doesnt make us a team. Why the hell are we not allowed to play? Our s5 doesnt even involve DOOP or slaya and even if it did why does it matter?

Wait why cant IzG play? Did you look at the members playing? The most competitive experience our members have is the OCG tourney. Not sure why we can't play. Literally anyone could play in OCG so it shouldnt really be considered as a really competitive tournament.

Neither does LPK for the record but they are close but with names like Pimp, Erick, Logic, Ayce, J.Biel, polo and lionheart you can't say you aren't competitive. IzgangsterR having 7 members and the banner "new izg team" isn't going to sell your "pub clan" claim.
We're trying to keep the playing field as level as possible to promote competition. Nobody cares for tournaments when teams join that are just going to win no matter what because they're so far ahead of the game. -

1st of all its Mindwreck, not LPK and 2nd i didnt know when two competitive players joined a pub team it was automatically their team. Mindwreck doesn't even have doop nor slaya in the line up so why are you so scared for? -

I think it's because anyone that's in the clan can play during matches. But if you guys promise not to play in any of the matches I don't see what's wrong with it. -

I don't know if you are new to cf or what, but I have always been looked down upon from ego8 people since I prefer my spop, armor, and m4silver/gold to ego 8 equipment. I've been in several top pub clans since I began playing this game.
Just because I won 1 tournament back in 2010 with some friends from counter strike source, doesn't mean that I am a not a pub player.

LPK is inactive. Whoever applied wasn't even me. Someone linked me to the post on xfire and I chuckled when I saw someone apply for us.
Pimp, polo and j.biel don't even play cf at the moment. -

Thats awesome, but slaya and doop are both competitive players, so is Jadoo. I didnt even check the rest, but that already breaks the rule of 1 comp player per team. There is so s5 for this tournament, as everyone in the clan can play. I find it funny that you are excluding mindwreck, because people want to pub with them. Am I really that big of a threat to you from an alpha 7 or echo 8 free for all? Does me beating foreigners in the clan server upset you in some way? Why would someone like me, who you claim is competitive, play in a tourney without prizes (I am not a captain)? Considering WCG is next week (and will continue for a month) do you really think any competitive even cares enough about your tourney? If they did they would throw an alt on the roster and not a main. Nearly all competitive players have multiple accounts that are at least lieutenants. Alvin has like 2 general accounts ffs.
Personally I dislike the competitive community except for around 10 or so people and my teammates. I never liked any of the self imposed rules/restrictions, or the way people act in pubs. I think the whole "ego8 vs pubstar" thing is a joke. From someone on the sidelines that wants little to due with either community, both sides look foolish.

You've got to look at it from their POV, allowing "competitive players"(just players who are better than them) makes the tournament that much boring for them because if a team like WAL has to play Carbon we already know who's gonna win. You'd be surprised. Pub clans occasionally win scrims vs even the best "ego 8" teams. That isn't the point here though. The point is Mindwreck is being denied entry solely, because of recognizable names. We play tournaments thats all. We never play scrims in e-8 and we are a well known clan server clan. The reasons teams were removed were from complaints from multiple people. As you could see before you were on the roster list until me and konrad received multiple PMs and xfires from people complaining about you entering the tournament. Most of the teams removed don't even meet the minimum member requirement as they are TEAMS not clans. If people (other than the ones who have been removed because they're butthurt) complained about In Theory being in the tournament I will remove them. -

Doesn't playing in tournaments make you competitive? That's pretty much the definition: Of, relating to, or characterized by competition
Playing in echo-8 or clanserver is no different. A scrim in echo 8 is the same as a scrim in the clanserver. I mean SNSD became the second best team in the game by only playing clanserver.
Being a "competitive" player has nothing to do with skill. There's plenty of people who are competitive and average at the game. It cannot be called "Kings of Clan Server", if you are going to eliminate one of the biggest challenge off of it. We are known for playing in the clan server. Having low number of members doesn't automatically make us an "ego-8 team". Our clan intro says, "Hardcore in the clan server" and we made a "Clan Discussion and Recruitment thread" on this section when the clan was made.It's called Kings of Clan Server for a reason. Clans that are known for playing in Clan Server. Which excludes ego-8 teams.
