  • Because he wants to protect what he worked so hard to get to the top and sponsored. Too bad he'll realize everyone at OCG has downs (Just like him) and be screwed right when its too late.

Or maybe it's that when a number of people bum-rush the one of the few comp orgs that's around right now, about things that aren't huge issues or even things that are completely irrelevant whatsoever, you're going to get a bit defensive =\

Believe it or not, people misinterpret each other a LOT of the time. And the more you have to defend something from crap, the more that legitimate criticisms start to look like they're just another part of the crap flood.

If you really are concerned about something, making your issue/idea as clear as possible, as well as justifying the fact that it IS an issue, is going to help you get it acknowledged and fixed.
  • I think the rulesets are fine as it is.

But since some people wants head and body armor in the game, then it wouldn't be such a bad idea including it since it is included in WCG and CF Stars. But like others said, this would only be legit and fair if everyone was given an armor package or code to use prior to their match.

^this. I don't mind armor being in the ruleset if you give people a armor redeem code for the whole tournament. If its "if you have armor you can use it, if you don't then tough luck" then armor shouldn't be included in the ruleset. Just my opinion though

    OCG. Host more drafts lol

I wonder if they'll be willing to host pugs w/o having people to use the ac. Just some simple stuff -.-

FYI The ZP should be on the winning accounts as of today. That was directly related to the fact that we were involved with the CFS Stars almost immediately following the tournament being done.

I've spoken to Evan and he has assured me he has the addresses for the winning team, once we receive them we'll mail the pads immediately following.

I personally apologize for the delay in the ZP Delivery, but it should be taken care of now.
I've sent you a private message regarding this matter, thanks.

    "we've added"

    "newly designed"

Implying they added functions and designed the website themselves which is completely false. I'm not trolling, I am stating facts that you refuse to acknowledge.

I am acknowledging them, in so far as acknowledging that you keep bringing it up. Language used to describe a new site or new site based on a template is completely pointless. You're refusing to accept the fact that OCG is running tournaments for us because you don't like them.

Templates are designed to be modified and changed. Those changes constitute words like "we've added" and "newly designed". Welcome to the world of trying to hype things up (marketing). Congrats that you've snuffed out the fact that it's a template and that they've made some changes to it and that you are upset that they are calling it a new site because they didn't code the entire site from the ground up.

Your problem is that you just refuse to let the issues go. You're harping about issues that are irrelevant to the progress of competitive events in CrossFire and trying to use these as some form of tactic to generate negative press.

If the fact that OCG uses a template, modifies it and calls it newly designed is what you are using as a way to not be involved in their tournaments then that's fine.

But don't try to create a group of people who are against OCG for this fact. You're bringing up points which are just plain unnecessary to bring up. This whole discussion is completely pointless.

We're moving forward with OCG as a tournament organizer. There are tons of teams and groups who don't have a problem with this. You do, and there is nothing I can do to change your opinion of it. With that I won't be acknowledging this issue any further.

In an effort to revisit this on a more level tone. Let me try to explain a couple of things.

For marketing, dialogue is always going to be stretching to the maximum. Especially in this case when we're dealing with a newly formed company in the OCG. Evan is simply trying to create excitement for his new company, for new visitors and to bring back old ones.

Case in point, when he posted this old users had come back and they spoke positively of the design. To Evan that means great things, as people are coming back. To us, that also means great things because the reach that his website has is now expanding which means word of CrossFire is getting out.

No one is being "dishonest" in this particular case. Evan seems to have his back against the wall (for no reason) being attacked at all sides for things people don't have full information on, or care to learn about. His AC got attacked, he dealt with a myriad of website attacks and negative press. Saying the site is a new design is just that, it's a new design (whether it's a template or not). The fact that he knows coding languages is irrelevant.

Not to mention how quickly a new site can be created by using a template. He's able to refresh his business look and create the reach that we desire in order to continue to sponsor tournaments.

Which brings us to the point that it is completely irrelevant what the site looks like (to a degree) or more importantly, how he markets the site. We don't need an original site in order to sponsor the company with prizes for tournaments. And Evan doesn't need an original site so long as a template facilitates all the needs for his company.

So my point here is that we're arguing semantics for no reason. OCG is here to stay and here to run competitive organized tournaments and leagues for us. We're happy to sponsor them as they've stepped up to help grow the community and provide a great competitive outlet.

We've consulted with them on a few things, like keeping their mouths shut when the trolls attack, or changes to their AC, or help them with ideas for their ruleset.. But in the end Evan is doing good things for the game on his own time.

Our patience runs thin for this kind of discussion, for me personally I am continually blown away by the people who feel the need to find anything but negatives in all the positives that we or they are doing. Supporting OCG is just one of the large amount of things we plan on doing this year. OCG and Evan may not be 4 year veterans of this community, and they might have to get tougher skin in dealing with some of these people. But arguing balls and strikes over something like the verbatim used to describe a new website is just totally pointless.

So hopefully that explains my position and my frustration a bit more to you, and the others reading this.
  • I gotta give some props to ocg, one of the main things a league has to worry about is the community and they are pulling through with all the negative criticism. In my opinion, any rule set would be fine but then again we can't have a ruleset that depends on zp and money because whether it may be 5$ or 100$,money is money. Like logic said, we can have a fair system for supplying armor for the people who participate in this league so it's not like a first come first serve basis where the zp will distinguish the line between disadvantage and advantage. When it comes down to it, everyone has to abide the same rules so its fair play. I'm sure ocg and z8 can figure out a way to supply armor or other equipment that requires money. At the end of the day, nobody is forcing you to do anything. Hopefully everyone realizes that z8 is doing a lot along with the major help from Saidin, there could have possibly been no tournament or league without them.
