OCG Discussion thread
URL="http://forum.z8games.com/showpost.php?p=3624191&postcount=28"]Note from Saidin[/URL
Please use this thread for discussion on the OCG.
I'll be breaking off the posts from the Summer League signup to this thread as to maintain subjects.
Please note this thread is not an excuse to troll. If you continue to troll we'll remove your forum and in game accounts.
We're moving forward with prize support for OCG, they have established themselves as a competitive organization doing the right things to grow the competitive community. The people involved in these tournaments have seen it. Players who want to play CrossFire competitively have already accepted this and are moving forward with enjoying the increased competition in the game.
We have a lot of stuff planned, very exciting things that I am not allowed to talk about right now that go beyond CF Stars and WCG qualifiers or national finals. And we're going to push ahead with these exciting things regardless of a few people who want to troll on these forums.
My personal suggestion to those who insist on trolling is to just take a step back and stop the immature behavior. You don't have to be part of the growing scene here if you don't want to be, but we're going to tolerate the trolls less and less.

FYI The ZP should be on the winning accounts as of today. That was directly related to the fact that we were involved with the CFS Stars almost immediately following the tournament being done.
I've spoken to Evan and he has assured me he has the addresses for the winning team, once we receive them we'll mail the pads immediately following.
I personally apologize for the delay in the ZP Delivery, but it should be taken care of now. -

The zp is indeed in the accounts; well at least I received my share. You still haven't received the addresses? 0.o -

No it does not.
The AC collected appdata from google chrome, which is generally harmless and was tied to blanket searches for hack files on a players computer. Most players were put into a frenzy though with a few false statements and unnecessary panic.
However, after discussing some finer points with Evan and OCG listening to the community their AC was changed, security beefed up and some of the erroneous data it was collecting, like chrome AppData, was removed from the AC.
Also, addresses have been received from the winning team for the Launch Tournament, we will be sending the pads out shortly.
Evan and the OCG are also once again listening to the community, they will be adjusting their rules to follow a more standard international WCG-style set.
We'll be supporting the OCG with future prizes, especially for this summer tournament. It will be most definitely worth while to stay involved with OCG, and upcoming leagues as we get set for some big announcements with competitive CrossFire. -
helpitsSUKO wrote: »So what you're saying is if I have ANY cheats for ANY game (bots included) on my pc, I'll get banned on OCG?
Please help me on this.
Stop trolling Suko.
If OCG Finds issue with programs running on your pc and interacting with CrossFire while you're playing on their AC client they will remove you from competition.
When we're setting up for bigger and better things with E-Sports and CF you'll be regretting the fact that you couldn't just play the game and that you insisted on constantly trolling.
Continuing to post like this will just result in another account removed from these forums and the game.
As for the rule set, please look at their updated one. It's as close to WCG as it's going to get for this kind of competition. Which is perfect practice for those teams who actually want to take the competition serious. -

2fastSTREAK wrote: »So if they were to allow a DSR, the tournament would not be "serious" and it wouldn't let teams practice for wcg?
I never said that.
The point here is that there is no pleasing everyone. Too many weapons and people wonder what are they doing allowing so many weapons, too few and they wonder why the rules are so tight. So the best way to handle that is to use the same list that is used in international competition. Then there is a basis for comparison.
Consistency is the key here. WCG and CF Stars and some of the major money tournaments are using these rule sets. Why stray from them?
Just imagine the level of trolling and trash-talk that would happen between someone using a DSR and someone using an AWM. You beat them once, they say you suck cause your using a DSR. You lose to them and you complain that the AWM is too powerful. Etc. I can just imagine a horrible back and forth.
But if everyone is consistent with the international set of rules then less of that can come from it. It's widely known the AWM is probably the most competitive sniper rifle. Why would you want to use something else?
Ultimately OCG will have the final say on what they can and can't use. We've encouraged them to keep within the international rule set because of the consistency factor above. But if enough people voice a difference then they can easily make the adjustments. -

I'm going to double-post here to just reiterate one point. Engage OCG and their community and their organizers.
Instead of saying "holy rule set....." Discuss the points good and bad, open a dialogue. Sarcastic remarks and extreme opinion is not going to accomplish anything. But realistic dialogue and discussion can prove your case and get things changed. -

Because the almighty freshk1ps taught me how to be a dsr warrior
The reason I would want a more casual ruleset is because it forces teams to work together more and play smarter. For example lets say BL team has 1 person using an xm8, and they're going to take B site on blackwidow. Instead of trying to hold sites by camping behind boxes every round, the 2 players holding the site would have to work together and peek continuously to hold the site. If they didn't, they'd die through a box every round. Limit of 2 xm8's per round though.
imo casual rulesets (silenced, guns with full wallbang, zp counterparts, etc) are also more fun, but maybe that's just me. -

Saidin, I hope you realize I was being serious, I have several bots for a MMORPG game I play and I was just wondering if I would get banned. Why are you threatening to ban me?.. -

I think this is a pretty reasonable discussion point. I think that there's definitely room in the OCG and in other tournaments for this. As we approach WCG qualifier season we encouraged OCG to use a stricter rule set for this tournament. I think the goal for sponsoring tournaments is that we encompass as many people over the course of a season as possible, if that means casual and more competitive tournaments then it's entirely possible.Saidin, I hope you realize I was being serious, I have several bots for a MMORPG game I play and I was just wondering if I would get banned. I'm not going to speak for the OCG when they are using their anti cheat. Bots and macro programs can be used with CF to simulate mouse movements and manipulate the game environment. Some of these are known and some are already blocked with compatibility. Ultimately the OCG AC is going to look for things interacting with CF. Your best bet is to remove them and/or disable them when using CF.
Chances are the MMO games wouldn't want you using Bots for their program. How is admitting to cheating in one game any better or worse than admitting to cheating in ours? -

I could careless about those games, I just bot to sell gold and get $$$.
But alright thanks for the insight, I'll just make sure they aren't running, simple enough. -
We can't use m700's or Famas's or QBZ's. I'd like to know why we cannot use these. I'm really looking forward to hear your answer.[GM]Saidin wrote: »Chances are the MMO games wouldn't want you using Bots for their program. Because those games are actually up for 3/4 of the week without issues. Making it more worth while. -

This tournaments goal is to prepare for future events such as WCG, so the best way to do so is by using the international ruleset.
I hate that particular gunset but oh well -

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I doubt they would use the international ruleset for each versions' qualifiers. -

Looks like OCG is going with what I told them when I first met Evan about WCG/LAN prep.
When you say "listen to the community" does that include what I have said? If so, I along with the community deserve an apology from OCG for their previous unprofessional actions.
Thanks -

So you don't need to apologize for your own attitude following that?
And I believe Saidin's thread about the OCG tournament was that "apology". -

Saidin doesn't need to apologize for Evan or OCG, he didn't do anything wrong.
I dont need to apologize for stating facts and the truth.
I did however tell Evan im sorry for embarrassing him. -

I deleted it to save you an infraction for trolling. But I suppose I'll just do that instead.
You know you're trolling, this is a pointless question surrounding a pointless issue. You're bringing it up to get a response, which you are getting. People use templates all the time.
This post is the exact definition of trolling, so infraction it is. -

Hey, I personally have always hated armour since with an m4 you always hit 80 damage and then they kill you. This pretty much makes it just as easy to body shot someone if you have a helmet on and It's even more annoying since with high ping you have to make head shots because they're the only shots that reg. It's especially unfair if someone else has it and you don't. Fortunately in competitions are not like pubs, however, if we're trying to stay with the same rules as WCG/CF Stars then I think armour should be included in the rules and given out for free. It will get the best teams in our version used to it and encourage people to use the Ak-47 which goes straight through head armour (everyone says it's the best gun but I don't see too many people using it) I do personally think m4 is superior but with head armour AK is definitely the superior gun. Armour is a horror that I think will be introduced competitively soon anyway so it's best to get it over with and get used to it.

I find this rule set completely fine, why practice with things that you won't be able to use when it matters?
@10minrice, that ruleset was for the qualifiers and could not be used at the international LAN, where you actually got prize money.
2faststreak's list is the correct one that is used at the WCG international LAN.
I also agree with allowing armor, let's say every Sunday or whenever the games are for this summer league at 12:00 AM we get 12 hours of head/body armor, so it is gone once the games are done. If I did my math correctly, that's only 165zp worth of armor per player. I'd be down to pay a 1k zp entree fee to enter the league and get the 12 hours armor package for the matches. -

Implying they added functions and designed the website themselves which is completely false. I'm not trolling, I am stating facts that you refuse to acknowledge.
