Invalid Item Error - Explanation and Fix
Attention Soldiers,
Today we discovered that there was an undocumented change, as a result of a bug, in the item inventory database.
This caused players to receive an Invalid Item Information error in game.
What happened?
Somewhere in the patch process an item ID # was changed. In this particular case, the item in question was changed to a Pumpkin Backpack. This conflicted with what the game thought you owned.
So for example, you owned an M4A1 for 60 days. The game knew this, but the database thought that was a pumpkin backpack for 60 days. It would then kick you out with this mismatch of information.
This didn't show up in our testing because it did not affect our test server item database.
The Fix
We will be removing this item from your inventory all together. This means that you'll be missing an item you might have had yesterday. The item could be anything as we are not 100% sure, at this time, which items this problem was affecting. But it seems that it was only affecting temporary items.
Once the item is removed, you should be able to play the game as normal.
Once we get a hotfix patch from the developers for this problem we will then restore the item back to your account which then should take the form of the missing item.
Please note that we are taking snapshots of everyone's item databases before and after this fix goes in. This means we'll know exactly what items you have had (as we normally do) and should be able to restore everything once the bug becomes fixed.
We'll have further opportunities to Log in to win the MK18 Mod0 later this week!

We've implemented a fix for this tonight.
The servers are back and everyone should be able to get in the game.
Please note we'll be looking at the actual item and making sure everyone gets their items back between now and tomorrow. So please have a little patience with us while we get the items back to users!
