THE best way to make the servers fair for all in one picture

Less discrimination, better quality gameplay for all, and works out for both casual, competitive games that have to play under large ping differences (NA vs. UK) and you can still play with your friends regardless where you are with ping caps on most servers.

  • Or have a NA/SA game and a UK/EU game would benefit everyone.

I think after IP banning nearly the entire continents of Europe and Asia (except for Mongolia which is off for some reason o.o) they're way to deep in to do something like that especially with all the UK servers.
  • They won't do anything to actually improve the game, they wanted Br's they obtained the license contrary to common sense and if you say anything about their lag, attitude or indeed their hacking then your a racist redneck spreading hate.

It makes you wonder how a group of people remain blissfully ignorant to the problem.

It's been going on long enough the staff should be able to tell Brasilians and anyone else do not generally get along and even if they did there is still the lag issue, which is not good in gaming. So you would think they would make improvements to fix these things and there is no need to ban Brasil either.
  • Thats right ... there should be only one CrossFire world-wide, but with ping-capped servers distributed across the world. Not being able to play with friends "just because" of licensing issues and corporatocracy is kind of gay.

But because of corporate interests this sane choice will of course never be made...

True, but I believe implementing something (not sure how big of a change this may be server wise) like this will have players play with others with similar and low ping improving the game just like that. It also offers a middle ground for all players to be allowed to play similar to how it is now so you are not forced to not be able to play with friends from different regions.

It's been stated a few times already that this is not a design decision. IP Restrictions have nothing to do with pings or hacking etc. They solely have to do with the licensing of the game.

All versions of CF that have licenses have restricted IPs outside of their regions. If they don't have them immediately today, they will have them very soon.

At this time we have stated we intend to have a service in South America. However the details of this service, servers, versions etc have not been announced. We will announce these details when we are ready to move forward with them.

Lastly, network code and game code in general is all done through SmileGate. And the game is based on an older engine for compatibility and accessibility reasons. It's one of the reasons why we (and other versions of CF) can reach side a wide audience.
  • Z8 will not do anything at cost of them losing profit.
    Segregation will not happen.

  • Sorry As for the OP. Looking at new server options for our servers is always a possibility. Working with the developers to improve this aspect (level restrictions, added bonus gp etc) is something that we are always on the look out to do. And thanks for your suggestions!

Why don't you state this in a sticky somewhere? Might stop some of the whining that Z8 alone is discriminating against certain countries...

We know this, but obtaining a BR license and not the EU one? And why even bother with the Brasil one if the EU license was already gone?

I know you will defend the BR's at all costs however the largest hacking population emanates from there and even without the hacking and bad attitudes from these players the lag issue is one that remains obvious.

I know this I am from the UK and signed up for the Crossfire EU version, where my region was not supported.

That's great but is G4Box going to offer them a service? Or will they just get 1 server like a new america south? And everything remains the same?

I understand this but there are always solutions.

For instance in the recent update mainly EU IP's were blocked from accessing servers, couldn't the same bee done with regard to Brasil?

Maybe when they get their Brasilian server we could lock them in that and them out of others? And have a few multicultural servers where everyone can play who are not concerned about lag? And do the same with the clan servers as many clans have members from all over including Brasil.

Or just have a few NA/UK servers restricted to Brasilians?

You know a place where players can have similar pings? good gameplay?

This is by no means segregation nor a lost in profit. It just means that people from NA/UK/SA will have their own ping capped server to play on to play with others with similar connections guaranteed while we have the international servers for anyone to play like it is now.

The international servers would either be barren or ruled by one country and everybody would almost be forced to play with pings similar to theirs and they would lose playing with people outside of their "ping range" causing people to lose interest in the game.

You pretty much summed up how every server in CF is now.
  • i wonder why the banned China? do them really comes here to play in 350+ ping? they can play 20 or less ping in China.. lmfao~~~~~
  • oh Dear GM.. since u named the server name out as UK, US n more... why don do something for the region players only..
if not.. just do server 1, server 2. server 3.. make it fair..
n the coding for this game, not to mention, low ping agaisn't high ping.. just WOW..
  • Guidenable wrote: »

Segregation would make it 10x worse.

Or it would stay exactly the same having many international servers and barren ping capped servers.

I don't know how you reach that conclusion many players would chose the ping capped servers even Br's (I would think).

Does everyone like BR's in general? No.

Would they like to get away from their lag, attitude and hacking? Yes.

So these people will play in their ping capped or regional server.

So would the BR's as they are not fond of "gringos with a miniping".

And the in between are the multicultural servers and clan servers (if you have BR/high ping friends or clannies).

There is then no segregation as it's optional and fair.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Besides I highly doubt that the majority of CF players actually prefer to play with high ping players the way you put it.
