[Event][MOD Rating] Win Free ZP!

Introduction : the why
Now that I have your Attention, this is in fact going to be what it says. There will be a free zp give away. ~

Yes, you heard it here first. However, this will not be another lucky random draw. Fellow Crossfire players, we shall be playing a game.
I understand why people want to give back to the community : it probably means a-lot to them as much as it does for me. However, that being said I want not only to give it back, but to also improve our Forums and aim to improve the community itself.

The objective of this game, is to none other but to improve our community. In the three years I have been playing this game, I found out something really special. This is not only just a game to me, when I had times in need my friends help me to prevail through my darkest days.
This is why I am really passionate about the game and the community itself. I believe that together we can Serve this Community with Respect and Honour. Without these feelings of negativity we can fight for the greater good and thus Create a community based on Trust and Care.

The Game : Explanation

Now that you have actually read all of this, you probably got the gist of it. You might wonder, how is this game going to improve the community?

Well here it goes : I shall have 10 completely different decks of cards all shuffled together every time someone posts:

1.What Moderators are not doing well enough on (this is purely Constructive Criticism,DO NOT NAME ANY NAMES just tell them what they can improve on and how)
OR 2 you can say what the community can improve on.

Step 2. You must then give praise and say what we are doing good at as a community, or what the Moderators are doing good at.
{Note : Once again, DO NOT NAME ANYONE'S NAMES,and you cannot same anything that we cannot control. Example : Server lag issues, Hacking, Glitching, xtrap, game problems) This is purely to improve the community itself.

Every time You complete This task, Myself or any of my Elite Forumers/Moderators will then Check to make sure you have sufficiently completed this task. If that is so, I shall randomly draw a card and then message you and say which deck and what card it is.

You can collect as many cards as you possibly can, the Objective of the game is to collect as many cards as you can and make the largest 5 hand combo possible.

*The largest possible 5 hand using Texas Holdem/Poker rules

The Rules
---- break any of these and will be disqualified immediately

-There is zero tolerance for Trolling or insulting of any form.
---If you have posted something that is similar or the same as someone else idea : you will
not receive a card. If you do this three times, you may be disqualified from this Contest.

Lastly, Volunteers

I am calling all Current Moderators, GM's, All my friends(on the forums), Random 6837, Mr _VU and friends, Its_Matt, Oh? to come forward and to help with this contest as I will try to make it as big as possible.

  • Regarding the whole situation with the community and moderators, the moderators aren't really meant to make the community what it is, they're just here to make sure that the forums are tidy, there is no trolling, and some back end stuff (this is what I believe, but since I know little, I am unsure) they can hardly change the community, as you may know, because some of the community are disobedient even to the moderators.

I honestly don't get the idea of this, so I wont further comment on it, until I have seen an example of it in tact.
  • Quite the creative event!

Here's a question: can the cards be chosen more than once in a deck, making it possible for a person to get 5 ace's?

    Here is my input anyways:

    1. My criticism towards the Moderators would be check your Visitor Messages more often. I am becoming quite aware that some of you aren't doing so when there are clearly issues going on inside threads that you may be unaware of. We're just trying to help, so please do your part as well!

    2. The community itself is really much like a group of close friends. There's something here that makes us come back each day to converse with our fellow friends. Let's continue to do this!

-- Will also be viewing this thread often enough, as I'm one of the event moderators.

    Good luck!
  • Interesting concept. We'll have to be careful with this because MOD rating threads have generally gone south in the past.

As for the moderators, I believe we could be a bit nicer when we moderate. Some of us come across rude or sarcastic when we do our jobs, and that's probably not helping a situation where someone's getting infracted.

I think of the community as a family for the sole reason that we all just tolerate each other. :p I think if we could be more patient and supportive of one another it'd make the community a more tolerable place to stay and enjoy. Right now our community is pretty bad in my opinion.

Don't count me for the winning or anything, I'd just like to see how this thread turns out and see what things I can try to improve on.
  • Very creative and interesting event!

I think the community is good but half of the time things get out of line. I think people just need to simmer down, don't take things so serious and to not take what people say to heart/take it the wrong way.
  • Guess I'll try to do it.

    1. Some MODs take favoritism too far and allow some people to get past things.
    2. I believe most MODs are doing a wonderful job of bringing forth community events, broadcasts, and simply forumer rooms.
  • Sorry man, I just read the whole thread again, and it's fine.

I was in school and had a massive headache.

Maybe that's one of the things I shouldn't do : Post while having a headache. :p
  • Since I think I'm allowed to post more than once...

    1. MODs sometimes take things too seriously, or the fact thtthey change the personality completely from before. Though it may not be a problem, I see it happen quite a bit.

    2. MODs have done a very good job on using the forum powers correctly, though there may have been slight bumps on the road.

Damn this is getting hard, can't think of much.

No, they must be real poker hands so one person can only have maximum of 4 Aces

    I can't into Texas Holdem/Poker >.<

Well lol..u'll just be given cards..and if you don't know the rules google is your friend lol.

Basically just post and get as many cards as you can :)
  • i think mods ( as of the ones i know and had the pleasure of playing with ) do a fantastic role in the community with events etc but seems i like comleting both steps if they could improve on anything is maybe advertisments ( draw new people to the forums i see alot of regulars not many new also stop the memes i see alot of people "no names" reply to a post with just a meme no explanaition and believe it does not contribute so maybe that could be stomped out a bit.

now the compliment part :p wow its getting long :x
excellent guidance on moving threads to correct places, always atleast 2 mods on at any given time "that i see" friendly and contribute alot to forum rooms and codes etc :)
  • Hey guys lol, just a slight modification : I don't actually have 10 decks of cards atm lol..

So ill use as many as I can find :)

This event might take a while : seeing that if I had at least 5 decks of cards I would need (5x52 = 260) 260 posts at the bare minimum to find an actual winnier

    Keep posting guys :)
  • bad in my opinion.

I'd just like to see how this thread turns out and see what things I can try to improve on.

Thats the goal of the game bro, to make this community a better place :)
  • Very creative and well-thought. I like it.

I read your message to me as well. As for sponsoring, that may be a little tough for me right now. I'll see what I can come up with though in the next couple of weeks.

I'm with Seashore on this as well. Certainly it would be great to see the turnout results. I'd help out in any way.
  • More events that happens in the game that don't require me to go into UK servers and lag like a br. :)
  • I like the idea, and we can always use some criticism. I'll be sure we as a moderator group try to read as much of it as we can, and respond when/if possible to specific feedback. :) Timing is perfect as well with some talks we've been having internally.
  • 1. I feel that MODS need to exemplify themselves more often and get involved in all the QQ threads and explain things/answer questions. May not be wanted by many people, but I think a MOD must be a good forum leader and prevent future QQers and problems.

    2. I love how MODS are good, friendly people and have a sense of humor, always willing to make friends.

Theres a good example on how I would like you guys to play this game :)
  • When MODs perform an action they should also explain themselves in a concise manner when issuing an infraction/warning or EVEN closing threads.

Many a time just quoting a forum rule just doesn't cut it.

A positive thing to the MODS: well... you're good people... nuff said. Btw Rex you owe me a hug. I gave you your coffee waaay back then.
  • I guess I'll do a few more, I'd like some extra ZP.

    1. MODs need to be more harsh on some subjects like constantly bypassing filters, and less harsh on things like "QQ" threads.

    2. MODs are doing a nice job of keeping cool through "rough" times.
  • very interesting idea
    now listen...
almost all MODS are working well except for doing some mistakes -sometimes silly ones-
for example they - not all MODS but some of them - give infractions for opinions
    others are quite unsociable
they don't check their VM and PM regularly
also they - they = some of them - delete posts or move it without any notification

    the advantages
there are too many to count but this is what i can remember
they are co-operative especially when some guys have problems in-game
they host good events -i can't say the name but he is famous-
  • This sounds complicated.

    1. This community can do better by being more supportive of each other in game. As opposed to calling each other noobs all the time.

    2. This community is doing well in the Off Topics section. Some people here are hilarious.

    ALL SPADES ROYAL FLUSH BABE!
  • I've read very nice stuff guys, keep the the good work. I shall pm ur cards later tonight..I gotta go to work lol
  • 1. Some parts of the community has problems with getting along..

    2. Well since I can't think of much to complement MODs.. The community is doing wonderful with raffles and events! They are even becoming more interesting and complex!
  • Very nice Mr Frozen Syther :)

I will pm you guys the cards tmr..im too tired :(
  • 1. Mods do not take the same action on the same behavior. Example: Some mods give infractions for **** but others do not. This creates confusion and mods should discuss and agree what action should be taken for certain behaviors by the community to make it fair and not make us confused.

    2. The community is awesome because of events like this. It promotes discussion and can make the community better.

I approve. But also note that every moderator has his/her own style of moderating and dealing with things.

    Good job guys.
  • 1. The community needs to exterminate all of the trolls instead of egging them to do it even more.

    2. Some parts of the community do a good job of helping others, not to the extent of becoming a "mini-mod", but enough to become liked by the majority of the community.

Not every "troll" is beyond salvation. Zaref (Rutherford) is now a respectable forumer, although he was very annoying at first.
