If you do not accept these terms and conditions in whole, you may not register or participate in . For every Lan participant, this legal agreement must be printed, signed and submitted at the beginning of the event, otherwise you will be refused entrance.

Policy on the modification of this agreement
The Lan Committee reserves the right to change the terms and conditions required for registration and/or participation in the Lan event. Modifications will take effect once they are posted on the event website.

Any breach of these rules of conduct will result in the expulsion of the player or team from the event without the possibility of appeal or reimbursement/refund.

Limitation of liability
The participant agrees that Lan , its officers, employees, volunteers, as well as Employees of the Radisson Admiral and the sponsors of Lan and their affiliates or divisions are not responsible for any defect in the operation of material or software, for any error, anomaly, or fault caused by the operation of software that results in the disqualification or loss of the participant's match.

No visitors will be admitted to the event without their “visitor” ID badge, having previously given their name, contact info, and a piece of ID for the duration of their visit.

Cheating and unsportsmanlike behavior
No forms of cheating in the tournaments will be permitted, no matter what form they might take. The participant agrees to use nothing more than the options contained within a game, and to not modify these options in a way that might give them an unfair advantage. Personal configuration files are not authorized for use during Lan tournaments and events.
Frost Gaming Lan reserves the right to verify the configuration of ANY computer to verify that it conforms to the tournament rules and regulations. Lan may also sporadically verify various players' computers. If a player is caught cheating, they will immediately be disqualified from all Lan tournaments. Furthermore, any player who refuses to let a tournament administrator verify their computer will automatically be considered to be cheating and will be disqualified from all tournaments. During the tournaments, any modification of the normal functioning or parameters of games may be considered an act of cheating. Any modification of unspecified parameters must be approved by Lan beforehand.
Exception: Changes that affect the display refresh rate (with possible restrictions).
Not permitted: Modification of “skins” that cause them to differ from the initial game parameters. In the case of team competitions, the entire team will be held accountable for a cheating verdict for the current tournament. It is therefore the responsibility of the team to verify the configuration of each of their players before each tournament. Failure in this will result in the application of the previously mentioned consequences.
All players exhibiting what the Frost Gaming Lan staff considers to be unsportsmanlike behavior will be expelled from the event without refund or discussion. Examples of unsportsmanlike behavior: verbal or physical violence or harassment, any sort of threat against Lan staff or other players involving the voluntary theft or damaging of equipment belonging to Lan or anyone else. Legal charges may be pressed against any person exhibiting such behavior.

  • You guys could find yourself in a legal bind for not posting this information before teams signed up. Speaking in more technical terms, as a consumer, you have the right to be informed. If somebody couldn't attend because of your terms and conditions, or does violate your terms and conditions, they could come back and sue you for not giving them proper notice. Yes, the LAN is in less then 3 weeks but anybody can come back and say that they weren't notified of these rules when signing up. Then they could sue you for cost of hotel, cost of LAN expenses, and travel expenses.

I'm not saying this to give you a hard time but I wouldn't want something like this to happen to your organization. I really appreciate the hard work that goes into coordinating these events. I just wanted to put that out there. :) Best of luck!

    no they can't hahahahahahhahaha
  • no they can't hahahahahahhahaha
Not sure what the laws are in Canada but in the U.S. they could. And yes it is possible. Anybody can sue and all they have to do is prove that they weren't informed. But it was just to give them a heads up.

companies can change their terms whenever they want if they are hosting an event unless it conflicts with what the original event entitled them to*at time of purchase*, it was written clearly that this is an event for a *CF lan tournament* not a *frat party*
  • I have read and agreed with the terms and condition <- biggest lie on the internet.
  • Do you have a time for the LAN? It should be about time to release the tournament style(Group play or Single/Double Elimination.
  • fallout and I will be getting escorts, sweet.

I will also be suing purvis for hotel expenses, sweet.

It should be a round robin for seeding followed by a double elimination. Were all going there to play as many games as possible, the tournament should follow that.

Rules for events can be changed at any time. If you don't abide by them, you are entitled to a full refund. Ergo your argument, while technically valid, is null and void to those who do not request a refund.

And yes, your PC's can and will be scanned (The 10 being used for the tourney). Not your personal ones.

I sincerely hope to God that there is more then 10 pcs, or this will be the slowest lan in the world.

Thats what this is for. Everyone is told to not touch each others stuff with permission from the owner.

As for beer, I'll check to see if they are serving beer at the time otherwise we will have to go to a bar. That silly "No outside food or beverages" crap.

I completely understand you, I should have done this alot sooner but things had to be noted. Nothing is really changed, its just a way of protection for everyone.

Well it looks like we will have 10 to 12 teams attending. If 12 do go and we have a single elim, it will take around 7 hours or so. We could do double, but it will be a long day. If nobody has a problem with a 14 hour event, we can do it.

Only 10 computers will be used for this. The Frost Gaming LAN isnt "technically" a lan for say. Its more of a tournament style.

If we had more support, we could get more computers and run the LAN longer but this time no.

SOrry bro but if there are only 10 computers for 12 teams, this lan will never get done. That is way way way to long. And I dont want to drive all the way to toronto to play one game. Please do this at a lan center, because the way you have it setup, it will not work at all.

1 match will going on continuously with a few breaks for food and such.

12 teams is easily doable in one day.

No, no its not. Sorry. Between not being able to warmup, go over strats, and having to drive 8 hours for the possibility of only playing one map, its really really stupid.

People have known about the computers for over a month already. Im surprised you're now finding out. lol

We will have the computers setup Friday night, anyone can come in and test them out.

Plus there is a LAN Cafe a few blocks over. You can go there to practice and such.

It's not like we won't have any other rigs there. Hell I could have 5 of my own personal Machines there if I wanted. Just 10 for the actual event.

^^You can bring you own rig if you like, but due to everyone not being able to bring their own computer, we supplied them for you.

I will be bringing mine just for streaming purposes. We will have extra cables to set up for you if you want to bring yours. Hopefully there is enough jacks for extras.
