That is a valid point; I shouldn't just assume that people want to improve because they volunteer. I'll remember that.
Yet. I disagree with your guide suggestion; could you elaborate more on why you think a guide is a better option? I feel it would be useless. -

I meant volunteers are only trying to help, they dont have the ambitions you wiuld have for your career/
job
Guide
-same concept as your essay
-no negative feedback
-constructive for the community
-most likely get stickied, more views
-used as a guideline when people actually cast
-something for new casters to look at
Your material was knowledgeable, your presentation wrong, it touched a few nerves.
and eventually everyone will forget about the thread, in a few days, but hence a stickied
guide, will be around forever. Now if you made a guide, would a mod sticky it? idk, hopefully -

I still try my best even while volunteering at various places, but I see where you are coming from regarding it being noticed and read. Thank you.
I still disagree with the validity of making a guide for casting; in my eyes, there are simply too many variables to account for in a textual guide. Yes, I could post a guide of the general principles to follow, but then another situation would arise turning those on their head. Experience is the best teacher, when coupled with learning from your mistakes.
However, I do agree with the nerve-grinding quality of my post. With little knowledge of a critic or their background, it can be frustrating to be put on blast like that. I'm sure I came of as an *******. I could have phrased my post in a more friendly manner; again, thank you. -
ireid, nice essay, you couldnt make the cast on time, they filled in,
they had the reponsibilities of volunteers, not jobs. gave themexpectations, they coudnt possibly meet, wouldve been easier to make a thread on " How to cast by Reid" then critque tommy and drel, you and dag and knocked up a useless ruckus, that very few people are gonna read, mmore people would read a sticky thats called reids guide to casting then this sht.
There's no ruckus here, I'm assuming you probably didn't read either of our threads.
In any case, reid made his thread without any hostility, only with an earnest intent to help improve the quality of the cast.
All I'm saying is that the people who say they want to fix or help the community should be mature and respectful to those who have the same goals, and not act like kids towards someone who legitimately wants to help. -
The lack of professionalism is exactly what's wrong with the NA community. Pseudo intellects such as Ck or any other random person, such as the ones who bashed Reid for making a neutral, informative and helpful thread with no intention of causing trouble, are the poison of this community.
However, having a professional community barely plays a role when it comes to the game getting bigger. If you take a look at games such as any of the Counter Strike games or games such as LoL, you can clearly see their community isn't a very special one. A lot of the big names in these games are also known for being toxic to some degree. -

But I'm not arguing with him
He is agreeing with what I am saying, despite my obvious but insightful troll post (the one explaining the defacto situation with how to make people adopt this attitude: being chill)
