Cross Fire and AVG - Program Conflict and New Patch

Attention CF players!

Many of you use AVG as your anti virus solution. AVG is currently picking up the Cross Fire CShell.dll file as a virus.

THE FILE IS NOT A VIRUS. IT IS A FALSE DETECTION.

To run Cross Fire either shut down AVG or add the Cross Fire folders to your exceptions list.

We are in contact with AVG and should have a solution for this soon. Sorry for the inconvenience!

First of all, you should disable your antivirus , so that everything goes well
"turn off any anti-virus program that is running in the background

Right-click at "RAR" and extract here

Click Here to Download Folder

Folder Cross Fire- copy and paste files into your game folder and replace it.

PD: To solve this problem make sure to add the entire Cross Fire directory to your exceptions folder. Including the HGW File Watcher AND Xtrap directories and programs.

Microsoft Security Essentials is one of the antivirus does not affect the game.

I don't want to remove avg because it blocks lots of viruses on my pc so is there another way because I dont want to remove it. thx

Yes, there is a way to not removing it, you have to add CrossFire to the exception list of your anti-virus program.

Why does it always say, " Patcher already running" ?....... anyone help

You have ran the patcher and it was still running when you tried to patch it again.
You can delelte it by going in the task manager and find something called "patcher_cf.exe." and ending that. You can then patch it again.
It should look like this.

Well i have a different problem pertaining to this patch. When i let CF update & started the game. it stopped. And this what it said "Client file corruption detected, Closing game client"

i deleted AVG anti-virus from my computer now i am looking to CF Folder there is no CShell.dll File , so i Reinstall CF or download new CF from your link of mediafire ?
PLZ WANT A FAST ANSWER!!

For this kind of problem, what likely happened was that AVG actually modified the file when it tried to quarantine or clean it. Even though the file wasn't a virus.

You'll likely have to reinstall the game in this case. Be sure to keep your firewall and/or AVG disabled or include exceptions while downloading and installing.

You can try downloading the mediafire files and using them but your better off reinstalling crossfire to be 100% sure the files are not damaged

Don't forgot to install a new anti-virus I suggest mostly Avast but Avast can sometimes have problems to with cf lately it doesn't happen but you can still disable avast when your about to play CF easier than AVG so give it a try
