[IMPORTANT] Competitive players please leave feedback

Here is a quick and easy poll which will allow our community to have an idea of how we will all be able to implement prizes and events in the coming future.

http://www.easypolls.net/poll.html?p=4fc64e26e4b0d9e6e10390a6

Please note the following: Don't be stingy. I know many of you, if you were hungry would spend $10 in ONE DAY dining out. I DO understand that there are young players who are unable to work and still rely on mom and dad. But if you all seriously want this game to improve competitively, you need to be willing to help.

    good idea with the poll
  • I think it would mostly depend on how frequent the league was. If it wasn't very often and it was rather large, I wouldnt mind paying twenty bucks. If it was every other month or so, 20 is a bit too much.
And another thing to clarify is, what would be the perks of buying "premium"? Doop and I already explained in the other thread that ESEA premium would not really apply to here.
  • Yeah $20 is a bit too much as well as 5 dollars a month for just being entered into a tournament or league. If there were some nice features that came along with that $20 or $5 a month, though that would be great. Possibly like up to date high fraggers/awards like that. Well put up thoughts on top 10 teams, maby even video reviews of scrims/strats that teams have. That would be pretty nice.
P.s. the video review of strats is pretty cool, something that winoutpro or eseanews would have.
But I think $10 is reasonable for entering a tournament or league

It is there as an idea for the future if ESG decided to expand if it became popular amongst the gaming community. I'm pretty sure ESG will not only support CrossFire but support many other games as well.. but that is just my guess. I'm not entirely sure.

With $20 a league or the $5 month premium, coders can develop a very nice statistics portion which can obviously be integrated into the site. Players can elect trustworthy, responsible moderators who go ahead an update these things. And "paychecks" for any staff member can be made by either using the large chuck of money which people pay for, or instead, these staff would not have to pay.

Ultimately, people will want a prize pool. I don't know anyone in this community that doesn't look forward to one day compete for at least a few hundred if not a thousand dollars in prizes. But as I said, money doesn't grow on trees, either we contribute, or it does not ever happen.

Also I would like to add that I got this idea from Mav. I support the idea, and we should as a community try to push for it. I can see from his videos, that he is actually trying to help people. I know that the CrossFire movie community could also benefit from this as well... For example, people can create videos, tutorials, whichever you want... and these things can be hosted on the website (reason for a paid membership) to gain more views... It is just an idea!
  • No offence, but ur telling people not to be greedy when clearly, ur expecting urself to win all this money. You need to understand, gaming won't satisfy you're bills and entertainment.

Since you're soooooo proooooo! e8 player, OMG.

    -1 on this idea.

If you want to win money, tell ur parents u finished first, they will give u a hug, and a kiss, possible $25. That's enough.
  • 10 is somewhat good,a little high but good.

That is fine if you don't support the idea of paying to play in a tournament/league. But some people like the competitive aspect of games. Some people would like to see some sort of league. Especially a league with a cash prize pool. But the point of paying is not only to offer a larger prize pool, but to encourage developers/staff to keep contributing.. No one wants to work for free..

OT: I can see a lot of people would rather pay $10 a season. With an estimated 30 teams currently (going off of FG Cup sign ups) thats $1500 flat with only 5 players per team... <- This number can go so much higher from the amount of people and teams that sign up.
  • there should be a 20$ 10$ 5$ and the part where you say no money at all.

obviously i would vote for FREE!

so would other people too, well probably.
  • I always get such a good laugh out of these threads.

Community: WE WANT BETTER PRIZES. I AM TIRED OF PLAYING TOURNAMENTS WHERE THERE IS NO PRIZE OR ONLY ZP. WHERES THE CASH PRIZES?

What about doing a pay 2 play pot like many online leagues do?

Community: I DONT WANT TO PAY MONEY. WHAT A STUPID IDEA.

    so true .

This game can barely keep up with leagues that have no fees, how will this ever be achieved? *facepalm

    Big sucker
  • Thanks for the feedback guys, keep em coming.
  • Would work only if people are willing to pay. If only a handful of players play then the league will not work out. A handful of teams will pay because other teams are terrified of most top teams and 10$ will go down the drain if you lose.
  • We almost have 100 people who have participated in the poll. According to the poll so far here are the results so far... NOTE: Lets say 1 season lasts 3 months (including playoffs and everything)

    Money--- People---Total
    $20
    32
    $640
    $10
    40
    $400
    $5
    19
    $285

SO far, in total if everyone contributed towards a league we would have $1,325!

Please encourage those who have not participated in the poll to PLEASE DO SO...
  • If you're making a league of some one is other then ESG, and wants to charge people to play. I would hope they have an AC and a decent one.. And would be surprised if they even got help from xtrap if a bug pops up.

If somehow the AC works and no bugs, 10$ is perfect.

agreed. This is where my issue comes in, i really don't want to have to pay for bandi and moss,
But at this point i don't care, and would.
  • If you don't want/don't make enough money to spend $20 every couple months then I don't know what to say.

There are a few people in this community... (many more) that are under the age of 16. Many of them have never had a real job, rely on their parents for practically everything, and in their eyes, $20 out of their pocket can be the hardest decision they will ever make....lol...

~ 1 lawn a month with money to buy candy np

besides more then enough people sided up for that tournament with the 10$ fee I think the biggest issue is that I don't see many people bothering paying to play to get cheated on

You're right, cheating is a big issue. Although we cannot prevent cheaters from playing this game. EVER. What we can do, is have people record/moss. This prevents cheating as long as the quality of the video is alright. Also, there are a few anti-cheats out there.. Not sure if they are as effective.

didn't cns cheat their way through esl with moss?

Wasn't playing this game back then... so I wouldn't know... If replay admins put enough time and effort into watching recorded videos and reviewing moss, I doubt a hacker could get away with cheating.
