  • If esea ever do pick up crossfire. i don't think anyone would pay for it when the game reg is still kind of bad.

And who will pay for a league for a free game?

People sure as hell did when wogl charged 10 bucks
  • I support this. Although I doubt Crossfire is up to date enough to be the first F2P FPS on ESEA.

    Good idea though, nonetheless.
  • Considering CF has been in WEM and WCG i believe theres actually a chance.
  • stop with these esea cf threads they have looked into it and it will never happen if you care that much about competitive video games play a game that takes skill

edit: i should have read ur whole paragraph before i flamed but seriously play a half challenging game that can be supported by third party clients, because esea cannot save this terrible game.

Your dumb kid. The point Erick is making is that competitive CF needs to expand. ESG was announced to launch early 2012, then Summer 2012. Look where we are, little 10k prizes for single elimination tournaments. Moss/Growler as an Anti-cheat is un-reliable, recordings can stop, some people have FPS issues, all around WOGL was the best try so far.

ESEA is a stretch, but again its an idea. Could we bring ESL back and have a working client? Where teams can scrim ON client, while the client is Active. As a competitive community I feel we all need to work together to find a solution. I would not mind paying $7/month for a working client, for you fat boys that's a Burger and Fries.

I support this idea, and would contribute to help start a new league, or ESG if its serious.

  • The thing is if we got a good league and anti-cheat other people that when inactive would come back. Our player base would be much larger.

    Isn't possible/isn't worth it.

Since esea's client won't work in crossfire anything good about esea is out the window. Therefore worthless.

    also it'll never happen =D

It's possible they could modify. But hey, what do i know! Plus it's worth a shot, the worst answer we can get is "no". Am I right?
  • Before i even get started, Chill out nerds with the esea would never pick up crossfire, this is strictly an idea
  • ryangi wrote: »
Do you know why people like the esea client so much?

Yes. I do. But anything is possible, is what I'm honestly saying, though I highly doubt it:P

    harsh xD
  • Still don't see my name on the list even thought i approved/support this. Makes me feel sad. Be right back, gonna go cry in a corner and cut my wrist multiple times.
  • IF ESEA picked up crossfire and the anti-cheat worked with the game, I don't see how that wouldn't increase the popularity of the game. IF the popularity increased, then people could pay for premium memberships and a pug system could be established.

I don't think that it necessarily has to be ESEA that picks up the game, but a legitimate anti-cheat needs to be created and kids like ck and tastylimes need to be banned from not only the game, but the forums as well. They benefit the community in no way, I don't understand why they haven't been banned yet. Before I get off topic, let me stop.

I feel that if an organization was created, similar to what esea does for counter-strike and what not, and just held SIMPLE leagues, it would benefit the community and the game in numerous ways. No need for these innovative tournaments that ESG plans on hosting. Simple, regularly-occurring, leagues with a solid anti-cheat would suffice.

    I do support this thread.

    Well said.

I support this thread; Doesn't hurt to give it a shot :D

I just find it hard to believe that its IMPOSSIBLE to remove people permanently.

@tasty - I could live with you, but its the tiny little trolls that you tend to inspire that are killing me.
  • There are a lot of organizations that look into crossfire and like what they see, but repel because of the how "bad" the community is. I think that the lack of respect and negative vibe this community has is making them turn their heads around. I don't think anyone like ESEA will ever be interested in this game unless the competitive community will grow the f***k up.

I (and hopefully everyone else) support this thread and maybe someday this game can become what everyone wants it to be.

And where is the evidence backing up this statement of yours?

    IGN?

    anyone else im missing?
  • I've played on a client?

    News to me.

    wogl-b .
  • You guys realize that ESSA pretty much wanted nothing to do with this game when it was a title for WCG USA qualification? No point in being delusional.

Just a few numbers for you guys.
    TF2 has 664 League players. 664*$29=$19256
    SC2 has 236 league players. 236*$8=$1888

    TF2 has $12780 in prizes.
    SC2 has $5000 in prizes.

There is no way for a pug system without dedicated servers. So get that idea out of your head.

It's been done before. People just make alts and cause even more trouble.

The reason ESG is doing the innovative tournaments is it is on the only way they could draw in capital. With out funding there are no prize pots, it's pretty straight forward.

Typically 3 types of prize pots:
    1) Buy ins - The players pay fees into a pot
    2) Out of pocket - Organizers provide the prizes
    3) 3rd party - Someone else provides the prizes wanting something in return

The problem here is people are wanting leagues to have cash prizes. You have to accept the idea of leagues without prizes. People played CAL forever with no motivation other than internet prestige.

Anyways, if everyone paid $20 a season to play in a league we could probably have ~$1750 in prizes.
