The twitchtv cast will start at 8am EDT on Saturday March 24th and run until 8pm. The CF Mods will be broadcasting throughout the day and [GM]Saidin will be making a special appearance half way through! OK, so nothing said about giveaways here too1) Where we were playing was not only shown in the broadcast stream itself, but we announced the rooms while they were being made, exact locations. Being on mumble did not help find a room at all, we weren't even in the same mumble channel as the public. You're a good guy Henry, but your first point makes no sense at all because of that. The public was not in the same channel as us, people heard it in the stream, not mumble. If people were in mumble and not on the stream, they had no clue where we were playing.
2) Atleast when I was in a room I noticed the only people that I knew were in the room were the ones we told to come because they were doing the broadcast with us. IE: KatKat, Natterz, etc.
3) We played plenty of matches. There were a few times people asked to show either us spinning crates, or the inventories, so we did.
You even had someone else reply to you that said his success. Being the big game we are, we try to appeal our events to masses. Time is an issue (your reference to 4am) because time zones exist. If you don't like time issues, talk to the governments of the world. That's why I split the CF Olympics into separate events for both NA and UK, so that we could try to appeal to everyone's timing.
Finding a prize wasn't hard, we gave over 16,000. If this wasn't your type of event, than that's your opinion, but thousands had fun today.
Ok, I apologise for that rant yesterday. It must have been great for everyone else - who knew what was happening. I was so p1ssed off. As shown in the 1st quote, I totally misunderstood the post and thought the Mumble was going to be the main event - cos surely they don't expect you to be watching a video while your playing CF! (How wrong I was).
You can imagine before the event, all that work downloading Mumble etc etc all to hear these people talking about random rubbish all day long. Not my idea of fun. Could I just suggest something? Make it clearer, state explicitly how the prizes are gonna be given out.
E.g. We will be giving out prizes to people who watch our live stream. Room details will be given out in the stream for the mini events.
Also, if you would like to have a chance to be part of the livestream, join our Mumble server etc etc[MOD]Talonblaze wrote: »To add to Rex's comment about knowing, it was also announced we would be in DELTA for these events. Check the thread, it says so.
The moment I logged on and made a room in the very empty channel of Delta 3 where none of the other rooms were made, it was filled within 10 seconds, and these were people I didn't even know.
People knew where to go found the rooms just fine if they were paying attention.
It also took me a good 10 or 20 minutes or so just to figure out how to use mumble. This was AFTER I made my stuff.
You have no idea how much attention I was paying - to the Mumble. To add to the confusion the rooms were said on Mumble, making it sound like i'd come to the right place. However as I later found out, it was just random people repeating what the stream said a minute too late, full rooms every single time. -
I'd like to say thanks to all the mods and people who helped out with the broadcasting. Also, I'd like to thank the people who joined in and played with the mods, you showed a lot of respect and gave us a good fun environment to play in!
Hope to see you next time when something like this comes up again! Peace, Jackass. -
Yes, the event could've gone a lot more smoothly. Yes, it was inconvenient how everything stopped working while the event was going on. But hey: learn by experience. Thanks for the free items, and I hope things go a bit more smoothly next time you guys host one of these kinds of things.

pretty successful event, but the next time the do this, they need to find a way to make it so CF doesnt crash 5 times within 2 hours.
Also Twitch TV was laggy and slow.
The live stream was 15 seconds behind real life time.
The chat was spammed with p0rn sites, random bs and noobs wanting attention and codes. -

I'm sorry to hear you had such a difficult time with the event. This is of course feedback we'll take into consideration the next time we host such stuff to give more ways to announce locations.
I don't remember if there was an ability to mute other people for you to hear, not sure how mumble works, but if that was able to be done, that'd be an alternative solution.
