Cross Fire Downloader - Feedback
Attention CF Players!
We are looking for some additional feedback on our CF downloader. We want to know about your experiences using the downloader and patching Cross Fire!
Things that we are looking for:
Where are you located and how long does it normally take to download CF?
When a new patch comes in do you find it easier to patch or to download the client again via the downloader?
Are you looking for the CF LA version of the game?
Other reasons in which you might start the downloader but then cancel the download halfway in between.
Please note, this thread is not made to get feedback on game or client errors. This is strictly using the downloader for Cross Fire. We are looking at a few of our numbers and seeing some interesting patterns and habits and are working to alter and change things to improve the process for everyone!
Your feedback is appreciated!
Thanks

When a new patch comes in do you find it easier to patch or to download the client again via the downloader?
I like it the way it is not, the auto patch system is great
Are you looking for the CF LA version of the game?
No

OT:
1. Texas and about an hour because my download speed sucks.
2. I find CF easier to patch by running "patcher_cf.exe" (I think that's what the file is called).
3. No, I'm not looking for CF LA. -

From nothing, to starting to play is about 30 minutes.
When a new patch comes in do you find it easier to patch or to download the client again via the downloader?
It's easier to download the patch, from the start up button program thing.
Are you looking for the CF LA version of the game?
No, im in Canada
Other reasons in which you might start the downloader but then cancel the download halfway in between.
None
Thanks
Good job Saiden, I like how CF has been improved recently -
It used to take me 10 minutes to download, but then a bunch of stuff got added and it kept getting longer (I'm guessing because of the file size), now it takes about an hour to download.
I live in MB, Canada.
I've had to pause downloads on a couple occasions, I don't remember why though.
I much prefer downloading just the patches rather than the entire client itself again, the patches take a couple minutes to download and it's done automatically when I log in, whereas downloading the entire client again takes about an hour for me and I have to go to the website to do it. -

1) I am located in the UK. It normally takes about 40-60 minutes to download Crossfire. The last time, I download Crossfire was like 7 months ago so this could of changed and could increased.
2) I find it easier to patch the game instead of downloading the whole game again. Patching the game takes less than 5 minutes unlike downloading the whole game again it could take up to more than 40 minutes.
3) No.
4) Sometimes you might get a error like "Wrong Version" or something like that. If this happens then I normal start Crossfire again and it would work fine. If not then I will download a fresh copy of Crossfire.
Overall, the downloading speed is needs to be faster. However it is quite fast now. Good Luck!
I hope I helped! -
1) Im in New Jersey, my download takes about 5 mins to 30 mins, depending on how my internet is.
2) I can only redownload the game, patcher doesnt work for me.
3)No.
4) sometimes it just stops and i have to cancel and re do it.
Other- right now im trying to download the game on my desktop, because my laptop sucks. when i go to download it, none of the mirrors work. -
Where are you located and how long does it normally take to download CF?
ُEgypt , 600 MB in about 3-4 hours but with cf downloader , it takes about 6-7 hours (about half the speed !)
When a new patch comes in do you find it easier to patch or to download the client again via the downloader?
auto patcher is great , but crossfire-clinet downloader is aweful
Are you looking for the CF LA version of the game?
idk what's this so i can't say so...
Other reasons in which you might start the downloader but then cancel the download halfway in between.
i just gotta go or it's too slow (even for me)
just hope u'll bring the normal direct links for the client , i want to download it so bad but the downloader is very slow... -
I'm in QC. Canada
To download Cross Fire takes about 25 min. with this new computer.
My older pc used to take about an hour.
I can download just the patch in about 5 min. But with windows 7, some times I have to start from the CF patcher in program files.
after I play for a while the normal start up seems to work again. -

I live in Brazil, use internet 10 Mega about 3k ~ 5k, kbs / s
Download the Crossfire was the last time - 1 hour then I think very good, but the last time I downloaded did not Rest and Play. -
Where are you located and how long does it normally take to download CF? I'm located in Portugal and overall the patch downloads really fast, as far as my internet speed allows to. I've also downloaded Cross Fire through the downloader in other places using fiber wire and the download went up to 5Mb/sec, which I consider really fast.
So in my home it takes about 20-30 minutes to download the game, while in this other place it takes around 5 to 10 minutes.
When a new patch comes in do you find it easier to patch or to download the client again via the downloader? Patch the game, since my internet is kind of slow so downloading less megabytes is the best option.
Other reasons in which you might start the downloader but then cancel the download halfway in between. For example when I want to start an online game, I have to cancel the download, since the downloader uses almost all my internet bandwidth. -

Whenever there is a patch which releases new content, I am unable to patch it successfully, so I have to download the client again. Not sure why this is, but you get used to it after dealing with it for three years.
I live in Georgia, and the downloads don't take too long considering I run Crossfire on a dinosaur of a computer (maybe 20-30 minutes). -
