I think I have a solution to the hacking problem

i have an idea how about we try this...we will play on a common server/channel...with 1 room name(for instance legit player) ...and message each-other in game with the passwords that we can change weekly...thus creating our own "group" of friendly legit players and we can be worry free, im sure some one will slip up and we may get a few hackers in there but if we're all legit players we can make the system work to our advantage and then that's that...end of story....happy ending...who doesn't like that?
Edit: doesn't have to be a common server/channel, just look for the specific room name
if you are wanting to start something like this then just message/whisper me

Srsly we need some means of self-defense like :
Unlimited votekicks for host of the room. Counting as 1 to 5 (by number of players in a room) +3 votekick armor..
You may say this would help a hack-host, but you can allways choose which host do u wanna play with. And then you will be 100% sure that if you are familliar with your host, the game will be hack free.
This would be 1000 times better then it is now.
Then add the adjustable ping range on rooms or fixed for channels.
So you may chose who do you wanna play with it. -

The first and most important step is that we must start reporting hackers. The next thing that has to happen is for the GM's to keep a tally of how many times 1 person was reported and/or votekicked within a certain timeframe, then based on the players games that day see who the players were in the match who either A f12'd or B refused to kick, and give all those players a 2 day ban. I know its not an elegant solution, because I dont know computer code but I can't imagine it would be that hard to come up with a program to do MOST of that for the GM's. I encourage you all to tweak my idea seeing as it would make the game SOOOO much better for the community as a whole, for those of you who took the time to read this thanks, I know theres a lot of lazy players.
u r talkin about imposible cuz he pressed F12 he got a bann i don't agree with u (amnot from noobs who press F12

Note how he keeps saying NA/UK players.
Never noticed that until you mentioned it but yeah he lead us on to believe that everyone outside NA/UK would be restricted. Maybe he should live up to what he says and do something about it instead of just leading us on.
Also i believe that they should add IP restrictions to SA. Yes it would make people mad but in the end im pretty sure it would lower the number of ha,ckers by 70%.
Another thing is, the way everyone says give the brs their own servers. Tell me what is going to stop them from ha,cking? Coming to our servers to get more kills and ruin our gameplay. I also believe that ping capping the servers wouldnt work because with all the maint the Z8 does seems to usually affect ping in some way and taking into account the number of people who get ping spikes
Ping cap servers would work by only checking the players ping when they request to enter a server. If to high it will simply deny then entrance. Once in the server doesn't care if they spike, the ping cap only applies when one is entering a server.
This method would be very effective simply because there is only 2 ways around a ping cap.
1. Hack strait into the servers themselves directly.
2. Move closer to the servers.
Since the hackers that are around are nothing more then script kiddies who download it from someone else, they lack the skill , knowledge, and tools needed to hack into the servers. And I doubt many would move hundreds if not thousands of miles closer just to hack in a video game. -
A lot of good ideas have been suggested and hopefully they will be implemented although sadly I don't think the odds of them being implemented are very high.
A "Premium account" feature should be implemented giving access to a "premium" server to the players who are willing to pay $5-10 on sign up I doubt that many people would hack if they knew that they were in risk of losing their account which they spent money on. Not to mention the community in the premium servers would probably be much more mature and will actually kick the hackers.
Secondly I really like the idea of hosts having the ability to kick players during a game and having a Good/Bad host status this would definitely help.
Thirdly I think that z8games should give some players a "moderator" status, these players should be picked by the current mods. Requirements could include having an account that is at least a year old, a certain rank, being somewhat active in the forums and still having their honorable soldier ribbon. These moderators will have the ability to kick players out of games and save a recording of the player which would be posted in a separate moderator only section of the forum, where a vote could be put in place to ban the player. If over 75% of the moderators voting agree that the player is hacking according to the video then he is banned for a week, if this happens twice the account gets perm banned.
Lastly why is their no feature that auto kicks people who kill the opposite team within the first 5 seconds of the game. -
Most of your suggestions were brought up. I don't think Z8games wants to add anymore moderators. They want to keep all the power to themselves. They don't really trust anybody with that type of power. I do like the host idea and it would not cause much of a program change. but, abuse will run rampant. People looking for their daily mission will kick the best players on the other team. Just human nature.

This just in.
Today, I played in Egypt & got kicked after going 5-1. Ridiculous! I have NEVER touched a single hack in my life. I don't even know where to find them!
I strongly support ping caps, as other people said. Ping differences between players destroy not only all the players involved, but the whole game. -
Simple solution.
Don't give Day Ban's for people who hack
-Game Ban for 1 year
-IP Ban for 30days (Can't make account)
-New hack provention service
-A more mature attitude to the problem
-Less excuses more solution's.
When Z8Games tick them all off , we will be hack free. -
I get votekicked about 4-5 times a day. Would that give me a 2 days ban? Just because I know how to snipe?
I also press f12 pretty often because too many of those who get kicked are just pros... So...
Exactly why this system would NEVER work. -

Premium server woulden't work. Most people who use hacks have money to burn and buy the hacks in the first place. $5-10 wouldn't stop them. -

What a lot of garbage! Either you haven't actually read the whole thread or you're just a knocker with nothing constructive to say.
There are suggestions that require NO CODE CHANGES - just some organisation. And really no more organisation than the current Forum Mod arrangements - so what's so unrealistic about that?
Sure, some suggestions require effort and cost from Devs and Z8, then again, I presume XTrap isn't a free service - at some stage, if there is serious intent to clean up hacking, some additional changes will be required and some of them will cost $$ -
I get vote-kicked a LOT. Two out of Three games I will be kicked.
I have never hacked, nor do I harbour any intentions start using such pathetic methods. (Unless they bring out an "anti-kick" hack, I would definately use that)
Forget about the amount of times vote-kicked, you´ll see more legit players banned than hackers.
We need a better anti-cheat, simple. I don´t care if that makes this game pay2play.
We also need in game moderators. Who will PERMANENTLY ban cheaters.
The whole ban system needs to be changed, Z8 should start a 0-Tolerance policy. i.e. If you are caught hacking, you will recieve a permanent ban, no matter how high your rank is, and no matter how much money you have spent on the game. THIS, will have a dramatic impact on those that hack.
Another thing we need: ping capped servers. Capped at 100 / 120.
The Brasilians are getting their own server, which means that they will only be able to play there if ping caps and ip regions are blocked from certain servers.
Simple solution.
Last but not least, this damned community NEEDS to grow the hell up.
Dont whine at the enemy for using a good gun, or buying a cool character.
WHINE AT YOUR INABILITY TO KILL THE GUY!!!
Giving the Brazilians their own server... AWESOME IDEA!! Most of them are cheating anyway -

Your ideas of more organization would probably end up costing the company hundreds thousands of dollars. Just deal with it. The game is free and you have absolutely no room to complain about anything. -

You're a part of the hacking community.
Discuss? -

Great! Lets make another massive & uninformed generalisation...!! You're pegged TROLL
How does a volunteer workforce equal "hundreds of [sic] thousands of dollars" ??? doh!!!
Its free? .... Give me all my ZP back then...
"No reason to complain about anything" .... as a paying customer I have $xx.xx reasons to complain if I see fit...
If you have nothing constructive to add to the thread... just leave it be... -
Looks as if the paying customer hasn't read the terms and conditions for the game as well as purchasing ZP. It don't matter if your paying $$, simplest answer is you don't have to you know. You should know a free to play game usually means there will be hackers involved in it. Granted most games do a better job and have a better security program, but then again Crossfire isn't as new as some of those other free to play games either which means it's easier to hack than most games are.Great! Hardly.
Ping caps would only require 5-7 lines of code inserted to each Server that will have them.
10-30 minutes job to make the code and a 1 hour down time at most to insert them into the servers. Doesn't require any change in the game code, just the servers. Which Z8 controls and has been updating recently.
Volunteer Mods to play in game and kick if not ban hackers would only require Z8 to find trustworthy people. No money spent on the Volunteer Mods and the more you can find the more effective they be.
Changing the code so rooms can have ping restrictions or give the host absolute kick control tho would require Z8 to get the Devs to program it, which would require a lot of code being changed and added. This one being unlikely at best.
The original F12 punishment that was suggested is impractical do to needing lots of code being added to the game from the Devs and not Z8, a way for the game to know if the person was cheating (which means if the game knows it should of already kicked them), and being more punishing to players that get kicked rather then the ones that are abusing the kick. So many problems with this one its not worth considering.
See what I just did TASTELIMESS? I constructively added to the thread rather then just leave a short commit that doesn't explain anything about why it be a bad idea.
