I imagine banned accounts wouldn't have the name deleted because of detailed reasons. -
well, what about some of the account made during closed beta that have never even been played on.
(dont have an example) but what if someone with the account name "X" have played 0 matches, 0 kills, 0 deaths, 0 exp, last play date feburary 2009.
Would someone like that be able to be removed? -

That's a no brainer answer. A trainee that hasn't been played on in 2+ years? Not to mention getting a kill OR death. -
How about like hotmail, where if and account goes inactive after 30 days you get an email saying you have X amount of days to respond before your account is closed. Failer to respond to the email is just that, good bye account. Have a link in the email that you can contact z8 game with a reason why your in active to mayhaps put it on a backlist, that doesnt get deleted, for example if you joined the army and was on tour for 6 months, but still wanted to play and not lose your account, have it a support ticket you can send in as well, to even prevent this. The less inactive or non players in the system that is gone, is less information the servers have to deal with and can make things run a little bit better, at least my experiences as a game modder has always shown that lol.

Because I havent played certain games in years, and I still know the account info. I wouldnt mind my ign getting removed, but I still want and like to play them. Deleting their accounts would make the owner unhappy if he/she decides to use it again. Removing their names would make them unhappy too, but it would be more reasonable. Any account under Staff Sgt inactive for over 7 months, should have their ign removed.
I agree except the rank part. Staff Sarge is way too high, make it sergeant 1 or corporal.The price you pay for registering late and namechanging.
I got "dot" early, never changed - and its still mine.
But its just an IGN. Pick another one. Add a character..
It would be lots of unnecessary code to keep track of when the person played and renaming him.
He got it first, its his until he changes it.
We'll eventually run out of IGNs, what next? -

All you would have to do is login and play 1 game. That takes like 1-5 minutes of your life. -

Well I can do that. But not everyone can. I know people that run into emergencies and cant play for long periods of time and still want to play but cant. Here is the deal, and it's going to be this way or the way it already is/has been. IGN removal, not deletion. I'm done with this thread. -
They could always send an e-mail to the accounts asking them to log into Z8games to avoid the deletion/force name change and give them 1/2 months to reply
Besides, it's not like the Rookies are going to remember/care about what happens to their accounts, most of them probably can't remember their Log-In details... -

The account stays the same, just that they have to rename it since they've been inactive for a year. -

Its just that simple, people create first their first account (example mine was accually my ID
)
Second, players create another account to level up, spend on BM etcetcetc...
They create various accounts and sometimes forgot to use it...

but why do you make alts and then dont play on it? but what are you talking about 'no honorable' i just looked at the 2 first ones and both have it.Its just that simple, people create first their first account (example mine was accually my ID)

This is flawed. I was inactive for over a year and I would get ****ed if they removed my ign while I was gone.Deleting their accounts would make the owner unhappy if he/she decides to use it again. I didn't "choose" not to play. I wasn't "able" to. My internet was cut off over that year. I do understand where you're coming from though. I mean there are alot of players who either take breaks or can not simply play CF for other reasons. You can't just remove their ign, or change it. If this was the case, it should have been implemented from the start. Like I said this idea could be very flawed. I wouldn't recommend them changing the ign, or removing it. Why does it matter if they were gone a year. Maybe I was Superman saving the world for a year. Would that be an exception? Or even that doesn't give me an excuse for them not to strip me of my account or IGN? If it is an exception, where do the exceptions end?
How to solve the problem: Learn to live without having an IGN like God, Killer, Sniper, or Ghost.
