  • May I give some formatting input? Please make it easier to differentiate the different lengths that the gun is being shot from. Like:

    I'm in the midst of changing every single spot that it shows a distance to be like this (the colour will be the same as the type of gun, in this case it's blue because these are rifles), think it will suffice? If not that's too bad and I don't care. lol

    I'm trying to get a MOD's attention so that they can edit the guide and update it for me, already PMed 2 of them but it seems they're all either AFK or offline right now. Maybe I'll have better luck tomorrow.

    The guide was updated today by [MOD]us3r, here's all of the changes:





    -Mauser bullets changed from 15/45 to 15/30

    -Desert Eagle: changed the full to empty clip of the desert eagle from 1.6 to 1.5, consequently changed the RPS from 4.4 to 4.7. Also fixed the damages and fixed the DPS.

    Interesting, I'm not sure how useful it would be though, if anything it would make the guide harder to go through because with text you can copy paste if you want to compare different weapons, with images it's a little bit harder, and if you have some text and some images it gets to be a pain to compare guns.


    I think you're right though, I was eventually going to add pictures anyways but this may be the kickstart of working on that. Pictures will hopefully make the guide a bit easier to go through.


    As for when you said making a graphical version would make it easier to access the information, I'm not sure if that's correct or not. I think text is fairly easy to go through, I could rearrange guns alphabetically within their types if that would help. What do you think?

    No, Hells_Judge is right, upper body and arms do the same amount of damage :P

    There are five different damage areas on each character:

    You make good points with your copy/pasting and comparing. And I can understand having both text and image could be heavy and counterproductive.

    Having them rearranged by alphabetical order would help I think. Another suggestion is to have a table of contents in the first post with a link to the corresponding post for each part, something like that :

    Yeah a finished version or two would be good, keep in mind you would have to do it for 100+ weapons if I like it and you agree though :P

    I really doubt that a MOD can change the amount of pictures that we can add per post, however they themselves may be able to add more than 10 and they're the ones editing it anyways. If I were to add pictures directly to the guide they would be very small.

  • This is an amazing guide. Helps weapon choices by a lot and helps me check the statistics of weapons.

    I'm now working on verifying that the stats that I got are correct, to do this I'm going through each weapon one by one and checking their reload time and empty clip time. They are truly verified correct up to 0.04 seconds for the reload time, and 0.02 seconds for the full to empty clip time. The DPS and RPS are derived from those two and the amount of bullets that the weapon has in each magazine.

    I know that the time is verified because I recorded each weapon with fraps at 100 Frames Per Second unloading a clip and reloading, and from there I used Sony Vegas Pro 10 (here I reduced the FPS to 50) to go frame by frame and record what I saw.
    There are some instances with variants of the same weapon that have been proven to have the same reload time that I didn't test myself, you can see what I'm talking about at www.youtube.com/crossfiredatabase


    The first two weapons to be 100% verified are the M4A1-Adv and the Golden AK-47.

    should i buy dragunov or awm?
    ak47 and/or m4a1 and/or winchestr scope?

    Dragunov is terrible, get the AWM


    Your choice on the m4 or the ak, they winchester scope sucks:
    M4A1: Good at long range
    AK-47: Good at close range



    The rate of fire (RoF) of the anaconda is way too slow for my tastes, I'd go for the mk23 socom out of those two. The desert eagle is a lot better though.

    The only advantage Drag has over Awm is a slightly faster firing rate, but if fire rate is what one wants Dsr would be better. Drag can't 1 hit at long ranges and would require 2 shots, but all the 2 shot snipers fire faster then it so its pretty pointless to use.

    For the Socom vs Anaconda.
    Are you looking for a close range pistol or a long range pistol?
    Anaconda good for when your using a close range primary like a shotgun.
    Socom can only compete against both deagle and anaconda at short ranges because the recoil per shot on it makes it inaccurate past close range. If you slowed down your fire rate then deagle and anaconda beat it simply because they can do more damage.

    Deagle can be fired at 4.7 rounds a second with 61 damage to chest with in 5 meters.
    Socom can be fired at 7.2 rounds a second with 38 damage to chest with in 5 meters.

    Deagle VS Socom.
    First round for both fired at same time. time 0.00 seconds.
    Deagle 61
    Socom 38

    Second round fired by socom at 0.13 seconds
    Socom 76
    Deagle 61

    Third round fired by deagle at 0.21 seconds.

    Deagle 122 (target dead)
    Socom 76

    Forth round fired by socom at 0.26 seconds.
    Deagle 122 (target dead)
    Socom 114 (target dead)

    Deagle and Socom have the same recoil per bullet, but because the Socom can shoot faster its more affected by it. If you reduce the fire rate to control the recoil then the Deagle wins easily.
