Is Mumble better for competitive?!
I recently got a few recommendations to use the voice chat client Mumble. We used it for about 2 minutes and noticed how much better the latency is compared to Ventrilo. The only problems we've (optimum) have had is that some people think Mumble is causing their pings to rise dramatically...
Another thing is that because we've used Ventrilo for so long, some guys just think Mumble is just "weird" and want to use Ventrilo...
Should I keep the peace and stay with Ventrilo or should I move us all to Mumble and just get used to it eventually?...

In my personal opinion, I suggest you use Mumble. For one, as you said the latency is 99.9% fantastic (nothing is 100%). To my knowledge it doesn't raise pings within the game unless you have some options with overlays, but the overlays usually screw up xTrap and crash the game, and beyond that everything should be fine. Ventrilo however, is and easy to go application, but not as good as Mumble.

It's pretty much having your team in the same room communicating, unlike ventrilo where theres anywhere from .2-.7 seconds delay. The only downside of mumble compared to ventrilo is the settings are SH!T. You can't adjust individuals volume which can become super annoying. The settings can be confusing at times to set, and there's just not as many customization in mumble as ventrilo.

If you've got Trittons or Astro's the volume shouldn't be a issue. -

Oh my bad, was thinking at the volume issue from a whole. Yea that's definately a downfall of Mumble. Whats the delay of TS? -
hardcore gamers use mohawk
Mohawk still has many bugs. It's got matching latency speeds, but it's just as messy as TeamSpeak. At this moment it's still under developed and the simplicity of Mbl use trumps Mohawk; Not to mention there's more weight on your soundcard using Mohawk. -

It isnt increasing players ping at all.
Well, me and sick's ping has gone up a little bit. Mines went form a constant 95 ping to a constant 115 ping. Sick's ping has gone form a constant 10 ping to a constant 20 ping. This increase in ping occured after we logged onto mumble. So is there like a setting that we have to change or is it something else other than mumble thats causing it? -

the pun was in hardcore and mohawk
my machine has always had problems with mohawk, so i've just used mumble -
TeamSpeak messy? Not really since the 3.0 version came out. TeamSpeak 3 is only slightly slower, not as noticeable as Ventrilo's delay. But.. TS3 is way more advanced (compared to Mumble), you can adjust dozens of settings.
Although, I believe ping in TeamSpeak matters much more than in Mumble, so yeah. Your pick. -

Mumble runs off of your sound card. My money is on your network card. I don't recommend it if you have NO KNOWLEDGE, but adjust your throttle. -
I laughed to hard when I saw your signature. hehe
I laugh when you police forum rules then post off topic in threads. I heard my signature has everything to do with Mumble.
. . . .
The BEST Mumble servers are sold through NFO. They're the the cheapest and highest quality.
