How did you "Get Good"?

Ok, so your wondering "what is this all about?" or "why is this post in competitive forum?".
I'm posting this in the competitive forum so I can get input from competitive players.
Also I don't want people posting if they aren't considered "Good" by the community.
So here we go.
Whenever I play anything competitive and do "bad" most people will say something like "your not good" or "your horrible" ect...
Sometimes they even go the extra mile and get on our (optimum's) ventrilo server and tell how "bad" we are there.
So now I get to my point.
How did you (or your team) get "good"?
Most people don't know about how a player grew into the player he/she is now.
I'd like you guys to post how you became the "good" player you are considered to be.
I hope this post doesn't get flamed or moved... Personally I think this is a good post to be in the competitive forum.

You get good by playing normally, and then transition to a phase where you play with and against better players while learning from them or through videos, replays, or guides. It all takes time, and sometimes requires you to do the same things over and over until you have got it down to perfection.
Otherwise just ignore the random trolls, they will always be there. -
practice tdm without sounds only hsing/bursts 1clicks/snd hs only, if you lack the knowledge to have good game sense, then watch old casts, idea is to guess what the other side is doing, feel where they at, and most importantly untill you play teams that have practiced, most of the teams play one side the same way you do. im still at basics, but once you master those, cf gets easier
Edit: move to toronto for 10ping, buy a computer that gets you 300fps good mousepad/mouse and headphones. -

Umm back when i actually played this game for H1N1 and Trio I just played alot and used the awp and m4 like I did in CSS. My main thing is getting a headset that allows you to hear footsteps, and overall just get a better reaction while getting into gunfights. This game is literally a cheap version of CSS therefore, many of the players thare "pro's" at this game I played in Cevo pro and thats how many players stay consistent.
