  • Here's what I would build
AMD Phenom II X3 720 Triple Core processor
A asus motheboard with Crossfire support(if not you can get single PCI-Ex16 and put a ATi 4870 X2 in it :P)
    2/4 gig ram 1600Mhz
    64 bit windows 7 probably
2 Ati 4850's in crossfire mode or one 4870 X2 in single one
I would put an SSD, it will cost quite a bit.
    fatal1ty 700W/550W power supply
A good case, something like coolermaster CM storm case
Full case fans, CM storm can hold 3 big fans :).
Processor cooling would be something like asus triton 85 or something

    :D
  • semi-built is better than built from scratch
  • Here's what I would build
AMD Phenom II X3 720 Triple Core processor OR i7 CORE 920 overclock to 4GHZ save 1K
A asus motheboard with Crossfire support(if not you can get single PCI-Ex16 and put a ATi 4870 X2 in it :P) - Asus delux or EVGA. YES YES
    2/4 gig ram 1600Mhz - 4GIG of RAM mim
64 bit windows 7 probably 64 bits operation system
2 Ati 4850's in crossfire mode or one 4870 X2 in single one ATI 5780 or NVIDIA GTX 295
I would put an SSD, it will cost quite a bit.
    fatal1ty 700W/550W power supply MIM 700 WATT
A good case, something like coolermaster CM storm case Pefer alienware case FULL TOWER also work
Full case fans, CM storm can hold 3 big fans :). yes yes
Processor cooling would be something like asus triton 85 or something or LCLC very quiet
  • Whichever one integrates all the latest technology releases

2 cpu chips (Quad cores each)
    16 gigs of ram
    3way sli or crossfire

watercooling or phasechange cooling for extreme overclock

pretty much the more money you spend, the nicer the computer
  • I would go with Alienware/Dell as it is a big and trusted company with very good reputation and good customer support :)
  • Alienware are over rated you can get the same system for less by building it
Dell = Epic fail, I've owned 2 systems made by them and hated 'em

    I'm building my new system
    2.5ghz Quad
    4gb DDR2
    1gb 9600GT (factory OC'd)
and so long as you get a decent motherboard you can upgrade for cheap whenever you feel the need.

All in all building is always cheaper and alot more fun cause you can make it more to what you aim for rather then have some company build it and stick a ridiculous price tag on just cause of the name

  • You can build your own like mine for under a grand :) here are the specs.

    AMD Quad 965 black am3 at 4.2ghz
    MSI plat. am3 Mother Board
    500gig baracuda sata. 7200 rpm
    GTX 295 nviidia card
    4gigs ddr3 ram

and most important Good Internet speed lol. atm im 50 pings in CF with 30meg download cable.

A good ping and good FPS will allow you a chance at times to see some 1 before they see you :)

In Game = HANCOSTFU from the " Dirty Playaz "

    You goddam rich aint you?
  • NO I own a buss. and build comps in my spare time. My build can be done for around $750-$900 dollars .
most people will just need a new tower with the build just take your cd roms and things from old comp.
and a 750 dual pull PS (min for the 295 card) is about 40-50 bucks.
  • People have probably already said this.

Custom built computers are definitely the best choice hands down.
Can build a computer to your personal preference which is the best thing about it.
Also you get to pick almost exactly how much you want to spend on it.
  • LoL .. Alienware overprices for the brand ... Dell computers (xps) have nice models but, they have bad video cards and cooling system is to be review lol. Best offers u can find is barebones kits or find the pieces yourself. (tigerdirect.com/ca).
Im playing on a old rig. Athlon Dual core 2.0ghz (LoL), 3GB DRR2 and a HD 4670 which is 75$ and doesnt require an extra powersupply. And btw even though your PC is a gaming computer it max, uses 300-400 watts w/ Core i7 and all thought u still need a 600w + to be save
  • falcon-nw.com

get a Mach V and just buy all of the upgrades for everything?

    intel i7 extreme 975 @ 3.33 GHz OCed to - Processor
    Asus P6TD Deluxe - MoBo
    12 GB DDR3 1033 MHz - Memory
    2x NVidia GeForce GTX 295 - Video
    4x Velociraptor 300 GB, 10k RPM, RAID 0 - Hard Drives
Blu-Ray DVD RW - Optical Drive
    Windows 7 Ultimate x64 - OS

That'll run you $7k, and then probably another $1k-$2k for monitor, mouse, keyboard, headset, software, etc.
  • yea the m17x laptop looks pretty legit. go for it if you have the money
