Overall performance? Intel is stronger, but is much more expensive, and AMD can still run all the same games, just as well.

I'm a teenager, but I won't buy another AMD CPU, I want one that lasts more than 2 years.
The reason I bought my current AMD CPU was because I was low on cash and didn't game that much. But since I've started gaming, I don't want an AMD anymore.

Intel bring out some flashy new processor every few months or so, then kids suddenly decide their i7 isn't good enough, and want that instead. The i9 gets here soon, the i7 will be seen as obsolete my most unknowledgeable, naive people.

Pretty much how Intel makes so much money. That, and whoring out their microprocessors to every Tom, Dick, or Harry who'll buy them.
