Interesting where this thread went, AMD is the largest manufacturer because it is so cheap almost all pre-built machines use them, therefore the sales are huge.
In my opinion the Cyber Snipa headsets will always be personal favorites.
In my opinion AMD > Intel. -

I will use another mainboard, mouse and OS (64 bit) but the rest is almost the same. -
Why buy an AMD Quad > an i5?
Upgrades in the future, that's why. Unless of course you're willing to shell out another $250 dollars for a 1336 socket mobo, on top of the price of a decent i7 Six-Core.
Whereas you can use the same mobo for the Phenom II Six-Core, as you'd use for the AMD Quad. -

Intel sold 80.5% of all the PC microprocessors sold during 2010. -

And if you ever build another pc using a mobo with SLI support instead you can take out that six core/quad put it in the new build, put a cheap sempron or something in the old mobo, and give it to a family member, the joy of backwards compatibility? -

Not really, microprocessors are NOT just cpu's, that's also taking into account microprocessors in calculators (which intel supplies texas instruments), and other general use items.
Again, your wowed by numbers, without considering what those numbers truly mean. -
You almost posted my upgrade plans for my pc oO

Also don't get 64. Just a warning. -

I said PC microprocessors.
Also, the reason I don't buy an AMD is because Intel has a better Price/Performance Ratio, atleast if you buy an enthusiast CPU. -

...Did you even read the article?
I don't really feel like arguing, and you may be right, but if you were it would probably be due to chipsets.
Enthusiasts are the scum of the earth in my opinion. But I won't go into it. -

Why spend 1000$ on a CPU. When i built a whole tower for under a 1000$.
For "performance" that is their "justifications", the reality is they just need something to prove their masculinity, like having a ferrari, AMD offers all the performance you will need, at a lower price, with more compatibility options, almost all their processors can run off the AM2+ AM3 socket mobos, whereas for almost each new processor from intel, you need a new mobo. -

Not the BEST on the market but dam close.

Why's that?
Don't listen this advise. If you don't get a 64bits you will be blocked at 3 or 4 gigs of RAM. Bad for upgrades.CrackinDomes wrote: »Just curious why your rocking the Dell case? Or once you update you gonna grab a new one?
I don't understand the "rocking" nor what you are asking if I'll grab a new one.
I'm getting changing the Dell case because I want a BIG case and a cool one. Big because I won't only be getting one GPU but 2 or more so I'll need a new mobo also. Mobo will be the last thing I change before adding a SSD. -

Meaning that anything over 4gb's is useless. Sorry just a personnal thing we have discovered over the years.
40% = Less then 2gb's used. -

64 is instable, and few things need anything that 4 gigs of 2000 mhz oced ddr3 wouldn't solve.
He meant to say, why do you have a dell case? Are you getting another? -

Yes I read it. AMD is gaining market share but Intel is still the biggest.
And no, OC'ing might not be necessary, but I do it for fun, and my current AMD CPU (yes, I have one) didn't clock very well, so next time I'll buy a new CPU (probably when Ivy Bridge comes out) I'll buy an Intel instead.iShopBellaOo wrote:For "performance" that is their "justifications", the reality is they just need something to prove their masculinity, like having a ferrari,
This is just plain stupidity. Why would I need to buy an expensive PC just to "prove my masculinity"? I do it because I think it is fun to have a good PC, and overclock it as high as possible.iShopBellaOo wrote:Enthusiasts are the scum of the earth in my opinion. But I won't go into it.
IMO, the "scum of the earth" is the people that are to narrow-minded to understand that people can have their own personal needs. Some people are willing to spend some extra money on looks and buy a Razer mouse, while some people don't. Some people like spending money on a top-end computer, and others don't.
That is not a reason to look down on people and call them scums. -
