New Forum Code of Conduct

So in reality, if you basically mess up 10 times for anything, your out of here. Pretty harsh. The points themselves have little effect overall, as the actual effect of what caused them to be there regardless of whether its minor or major stays forever. The points really don't mean squat as you are permanently banned for making 10 redundant or duplicate threads, before you even get a 2 week ban with no parole for getting it lifted.
As much as I like the reinforcement, it will probably result in many just not posting at all in fear of setting anything off.
It's possible the numbers may change based on behavior.
However, the point here is that if you post in the wrong forum, get told to post in the correct forum you should be following that rule.
There should be no need to post 10 times in the wrong forum. If it looks like an innocent mistake then I'm sure a moderator will have no problem moving the thread a couple of times (this kind of judgment is the moderators call). If someone is purposely making duplicate threads in the wrong forum 10 times over they should have learned their lesson.
If it means one less duplicate thread (in this particular example) because someone is too afraid to post then it's better for the boards. Eventually the people will learn to post in the same threads. Or continue discussions. Rather than constantly feeling the need to make their point the top of the pile.
In effect, 10 total infractions is actually more than what it takes to get a permanent ban before. Previously you only needed a few in an unorganized manner to receive a ban.
There are too many people abusing all the loopholes in the previous system. If they continue to behave in that way they'll just be removed over time through this new system. If that time is short, then it's not really our problem because it shows they didn't bother to learn. -
Hope this will make the forum more enjoyable, if everyone watches their step carefully to avoid an infration, xD
Btw, can you give infractions to people making thread about the Barrett? I'm really tired of this and we all think that D34d3y3 was PERFECTLY clear about it. They still ask for it, again, and again...It's endless... --'
Back on the code: Great improvement, -

Back on the code: Great improvement,
Yeah, likely we will make some FAQ and standard threads to answer some of the common topics. We'll look to do that in the new year. -

So its still under moderator's discretion if they so wish. Somewhat more heartening, but the problem with the 'post in the same threads or continue a discussion' is what happens if it falls under the necroposting? I guess the question I mainly ask is what makes a redundant/duplicate thread?
Would someone get a point/infraction for posting a AWMvsDSR topic thats been seen for the 50th+ time on the forums? Or would they have to dig up an older discussion about such? Then worry about necroposting.
I know the main part about the redundant/duplicate threads portion is mainly to remove the ridiculous amount of 'hacks won't go away!" and "I hate..." threads. But there is no gauge for us to currently know the safety ratings. Currently from these rules it looks to be a hammer waiting to fall on all of us.
But, if that clarification FAQ section is indeed going to help such then I look forward to seeing it. Until then I'll probably avoid posting just to be safe until I'm sure I won't be caught by some silly technicality. -

Just to specifically answer this. Moderators, and people like me are in fact creating these types of rules to handle those kinds of threads. If its a topic that's been talked about 500 times before it should be fairly obvious when to use that.
However, I agree there is a small conflict here between necroposting and duplicate threads etc. On the one hand we don't want people to ressurect a topic from 10 months ago, especially if the subject is the same, but the information has changed.
But by that token we also don't want to recreate a thread too many times either. We will try to tighten up some of the rules explanations and create these FAQ things to help with this difference and discretion. Chances are if you post something intelligent it's not going to get reprimanded no matter what the subject. But we'll work on making these a little clearer. Thanks again for the input. -

Enjoy!
Can I gets my Fansite kit update pl0x? I working on a good project for da game like a...yes "community work" can I bro? -
Just a quick question. Can I...
Provide links to Crossfire mods for Cstrike: Source? Like Crossfire player models, maps, and weapon mods for CS:S? Is that allowed? I'm still learning how to use Hammer Tools, but if I ever make CF mods for CS:S, can I make a thread about it here? Thanks. -

Is it possible to find all similar posts and merge them together? And before merging, there should be something like "MERGED THREAD 2, MERGED THREAD 3", above each merged thread. Just a suggestion, because I know you can do that with IP.Board forums, but I'm not sure about VBulletin forums. -

Merging threads is something we do all the time. But just because a feature is there doesn't mean we want to encourage people to post a thousand individual threads so we can merge them all. That takes time.
As for your question about CF for CS. We would prefer that you did not. As most of the mods are using textures models and graphics against the consent of SmileGate (the developers). Also, there are some distributed CS mods showing up with CF stuff from other countries and languages that may contain viruses or other such issues.
