THP Tournament announcement

Hm thanks for the info, I doubt the VSGL admins were best buddies with Deception/Trio however even still well... the whole "you guys won, it doesn't matter" excuse still rolled off the tonges of one of the admins sadly.
Now lets read what I posted... in one section I am talking about the tournament its self in the other I am talking about how bad M.I.A/THP is. Both are quite different, however if you wish I can elaborate.
But just in case lets clarify the points!
M.I.A is bad! Why is M.I.A bad? Because they posted screen shots of beating bad teams! Did M.I.A post the countless screen shots of getting owned by half decent scrim teams? Nope... some how those were not included. Not to mention from my previous experience of playing your clan, I honestly felt like I was play a group of 12 year olds on a caffeine high. -
First of all this tournament is a trial run for us. Im working on getting to see what I need and where I can do it betterwith this game so that when I open it up for ava and CODMW2 I can do it without a hitch.
Reguarding the management of this tournament we are running it yes. Are we VSGL no. There are select mature members running this tournament and we were also wanting to get some of the various team leaders involved with the tournament as they join. Reasoning behind this is because in your past experiences there was some bias yes. I aim to fix that.
We are also not MIA and I could care less about MIA. Yes, we have alot of the same members, but we also dont have the same leadership. In the past I was not involved with this site and could honestly care less about this game. However, that has changed due to one fact that I want the experience in creating and running a leage, and tournament site that provides something more to "next level gamers".
Since Gunna and several others have convienced me to not return to my already established rep on console gaming, I intend to take my knowledge of high level competitive play to the highly under achieving PC world. As it stands there are only a few games that reach into the highest arenas of competitive play in the PC world, and I would like to help change that by providing a starting point for teams to become recognized and rewarded for their efforts. The problem with PC gaming is not the amount of players its the organization of them. There are no real places for PC gamers to come together and have smooth clean running competitive play.
So after all this just to sum this all up is, "Why not stop the drama and help us work on getting this off the ground. The more you help me/us the more I/we will be able to return to you in the future!" Not only is this good for keeping people involved with Crossfire, and soon other games, but its a good learning experience for everybody. -
OH LORDY PRAISE IT!
Thanks for getting things back on track Tubby. We are not VSGL, we are the biggest a$$holes youve ever met. We have no biases, we have no friends when it comes to this crap. We have competed at HIGHLY competitive levels on console games and have become too nostalgic for our own good. We are trying to bring that here, and the immaturity of the internets comes through with flying colors.
Stop the drama, stop the spam, stop the QQ. M.I.A. and the old thp are exactly that, old. We're strapping on the big boy pants and trying to change this game's competitive play properly. We are open to help, suggestions, and all that good stuff. NOW STFU AND REGISTER AND GET THIS SHIZZ STARTED! -
/bump (even if some random kid hated a clan some of us were in 6 months ago).
I don't think I ever said I hate you or a clan you were associated with. I simply commented upon the childish actions displayed by the various members of the clan THP while they were play for the clan M.I.AHeyLookItsBrett wrote: »

Brett are you really trying to call someone else immature? Please... get real last time I scrimmed you while we sat waiting to start the scrim chat was spammed out with horrid macros. Then on the forums you go off and post your one victory against us out of how many tries? Sorry its just rather sad.HeyLookItsBrett wrote: »Stop the drama, stop the spam, stop the QQ. Flames aside... a strong suggestion don't take Handdrawn as an admin (a great player and person however lacks the moral ideals to be a good admin at least in my opinion which matters little). I would strongly suggestion trying to bring Pudgypaw back he was quite the excel whiz and had a respectable reputation however I doubt he would.
ps: Have fun, dealing with missing growlers and all of that great stuff... part of the reason why I am bringing up the past experience with admins from VSGL was the clear lack of commitment displayed. Sadly I forgot his name but one of the admins to replace pudgypaw was amazing when I contacted him with a valid dispute I got a quick response. Shamefully clan members found the admins less then capable and overall not willing to review replays.
Besides who else would give you so many free bumps -
On the note of being lazy.... If we fail at this then I am grossly underestimating myself and my fellow staff. This tournament is nothing compaired to what our long term goals are.
Brett Is also not trying to call others immature, but is in fact saying that we come from real competitive gaming. Where people talk all the smack in the world and can actually back it up. If youve ever been to an MLG event or a pro lan event you would know that outside the ear shot of governing bodies its non stop talk. What ever was said in macros is part of psychological side of gaming. If it offended you sorry for that its a bad habbit and probably most of my fellow teammates pick it up from me, and I am one of the worse players on the team. *I need a fooking controller not this mouse and board crap*
To be completely honest Im not looking for non participating admins. I dont need help with any coding I already have Komplex Gunna and myself on that detail. The kind of administration the various team leaders would have would be more on the reveiw basis side of things.
Because THP is looking to be involved with this tournament I do not want there to be any QQing about us having an advantage. We are not looking for a way to boost ourselves above other teams. There are alot of really good scrim clans out there that have a really good chance to prove it, and we would like to be one of them. We do, however, want anything we do to be legit. Not rigged, our in anyway tarnished, because of some polluted unfair advantage. -

That or maybe Bruce, he seems to have some sort of zealous hatred of hackers. -
BTW missing growler = DQ. I dont deal with that crap. Its in the rules handle it. This game isnt dead its dying theres a difference and on several occassions I think I have stated that this is a means for a greater good, and its also good for the gaming community here. Games like Crossfire and AVA need people like us. We may not care about the success of the particular game, but our drive for competitive play will help make a game successful. If you need proof of that there are still 1,500 registered teams on certain sites that are still active for games that are 3 and 4 years old that are "Dead"
-
Oh, I am sure you have all of that covered the main reason Pudgypaw came to mind was more so due to his lack of commitment to any serious clan. Which would play in well with your statements further on.

Further on meaning after this game? lol. If we recieve the popularity I would like, I will be asking everybody and their mother to help. Running multiple platform ladders and tournaments will require a few dozen individuals working. In the future I would love to implement a system of "refs" into our affiliated games. Their soul purpose is to settle on the spot disputes and accusations as well as making executive calls on match outcomes. Its an system that has been used on console for onlinegaming for quite some time with great success and its a good"after school job" for mature gamers. -

Well, that one is up for debate I honestly cannot think of many competitive teams anymore. But who knows I am probably way out of the loop anyways. Maybe in my mind the utter failure of VSGL still holds bitterness? -
This point-counterpoint stuff is gettting old. Let me sum it up. This game is obviously not dead, or else you wouldn't be posting here and I would never get the "server full" error when trying to join channels. We will be dilligently running this first tournament as a test run for more in the future on a bigger scale. If spamming ridiculous macros and saying random thing is what you define as immature than sign me up for your little Schutzstaffel you've got going on. We have fun, we do stupid things, but when it comes down to it we can slap on a serious face and get to work.
*Much needed side-note* To everyone talking crap about posting screenshots, just shush your faces. A screenshot is like a trophy. Sure we may have only recieved first place in a few events while others have many more than us, but we take pride in our victories. How publicly we display that pride is up to us, if you want to judge that go for it. -
I wasnt reffering to this game alone. It was a generalization of competitive gaming be it CF AVA COD CSS.
The failure of VSGL definatly left a bitter taste in peoples mouths, but if people want to experience what it can truely be like they will have to be persistant. Before I found the home for ladder play on console gaming I think I took the original "Team Genocide" to at least 12 gaming sites of which only 1 remains. That one site is now MLGs premeir online gaming site. Of the original 7 members of Team Genocide 5 are now contracted MLG players for various games that our 1800 member multi-platform gaming community had participated in. Just goes to show that persistence pays off.
The opportunities that can come from participating in something new are amazing. Being on the ground floor of would could expand into an amazing site is a rare opportunity, and its here on CF that we are making the first attempt. If we fail here I will be taking this chance somewhere else to others who are willing to take the time to erk through this. -

Hm once again missing the point, sure the game still may be alive and "well" but at least in my mind when the official CF tournament fails to deal with quite obvious hacking it is a sad day indeed. Perhaps I should rephrase. Competition is dead, currently there are only 4 clans that come to mind that I would "try" when scrimming. Out of those 4 one plays MMO's and the others rarely play.
Its not only the failure of VSGL but also of the leagues before it, the first official CF tournament which was pluaged by issues with "lossed" growlers or Electrics (iD gaming) tournament which not only had issues with teams being told the day before the were going to play but also had issues with ghosting (xfire live ftw?). Or even the IGL which had players banned without any proof of growlers/replays simply due to politics.
ps: Gunna at least in regards to CF I honestly can't remember M.I.A or THP winning anything. Also, I don't know about you but I don't leave my trophies out side...
edit: Well, all that has been said aside best of luck its clear that you can be quite mature and deal with issues with a clear idea of what is going on. Hopefully this tournament will at the very least finish. Anyways for now I will stop with the endless stream of free bumps hopefully a few more teams will sign up. -
I know I said I would stop with the free bumps but seeing this so far down just made me feel the need to post...
Thanks for the game today was fun, enjoyed the chatter on Ventrilo.
"Where are they?"
"I don't know hold your spots"
"One in tower"
"One in tower down"
"Wait I see another..."
"Are they really all in tower?"
"Wow, they were all in tower"
