  • Attention Competitive Mercenaries,

We know that you have all been patiently waiting, and that it has been longer than expected. We have been working on creating a framework for CF E-sports for this year and for the upcoming years, which has taken us longer than expected. This however, will help us get an early start in the following years and it will only have positive impact on the competitive community.

As you can see from the road-map, we’ve tried as much as we can to add more competitive leagues without losing focus on our main competitive Elite League. With the addition of Open, Ghost, and Escape Leagues/Tournaments we hope that several players will find their way to play more competitively in the game they already love.

There will be more details to come for each league, but below are the highlights:

    CFCL Elite

After a strong second season that featured participation from some of the best CF teams in the world, CFCL Elite comes back stronger than ever. With an increased prize pool to $9,000 USD + ZP Monthly, the league will restart with the same format but with an improved/cleaned up set of rules.

Applications for CFCL Elite starts today using the support center. Get your roster filled and start practicing as the deadline for applications for the first month will be Sunday, June 3rd.

The main rules will be the same (CFS rules), however we will clean up some of the minor points to make the rules more simple and straightforward.

    CFCL Open

We understand the importance of having an open/amateur level league for a healthy e-sports scene. After one year absence CFCL Open comes back with an improved format, more prizes and an invitation to all CF players. The first CFCL open month will start in July, so start practicing and form teams so you are on top of your game.

The details/rules for the league will be announced soon, however the major change is that there will be no weapons restrictions. That means as long as you have the weapon in your inventory, you can use it.

    CFCL Ghost

While March of the Ghosts is, and will continue to be, a special occasion, we want to give more opportunities for Ghost Mode players to engage in more tournaments throughout the year. This is why 2018 will witness a total of three CFCL Ghost tournaments, with the potential to increase and become a monthly league if there was demand for it.

    CFCL Escape

Similar to CFCL Ghost, we want to embrace some of the cool modes CF has but not played often. CFCL Escape will have two editions this year. Rules will be announced soon and they will be Escape Mode specific, focusing not only on your general CF skills, but your strategy in Escape Mode.

CFS 2018 National Finals - Egypt

Yes, you read that right. With the increase of popularity for CrossFire in Egypt and the competitiveness of some teams in CFCL last year, a spot has been added for a team from Egypt to participate in the CFS Global Finals in December. A separate National Finals will be held for Egyptian teams in September, with the winner receiving the NF prize pool as well as an opportunity to compete with the best CF players in the world in CFS GF.

CFS 2018 National Finals - North America

After the massive success of STDx in last year’s CFS Grand Finals, more eyes are now on the North America National Final. The National Finals for North America in 2018 will be held in October (separate from CFCL), but that's not all. The winner will receive the NF prize and a guaranteed spot in CFS Global Finals, but the runner up will also have an opportunity to go to CFS Global Finals if they win an intercontinental play-off match with the runner up from CFEU!

So buckle up mercenaries, the rest of this year is going to be busy for you.

Wow, I assume that CF NA/UK is either now officially licensed in Egypt since it's big enough to be dedicated it's own slot at CFS GF or Smilegate themselves pulled some special strings to make that provisional but an even bigger deal is that now NA or EU will gain that extra slot too through an intercontinental play-off match ?!

So then how will group stage work with 13 teams at the global finals or will there be 13 teams ? Japan recently closed their CF server so will there be other regions who shutdown their servers to make room or will Smilegate add even more teams ?

    Some massive revelations ...
  • Let’s go sBT!!!
    Lets go FCG
    lets go slyness
    let’s go direct gaming
    lets go wafflemakers
    lets go MOK
    lets go massbie
  • Where do we sign up?

Also will there be a LAN for NA Finals?
  • Great news! Glad to hear that we can compete in majors!
  • Also, I wanted to ask this but will there be qualifiers for CFGI or will it be an invite only affair for NA ? Is NA even going to get a slot this year at CFGI ? How about CFSI too ?

I got my answer from the above and it looks like EU wasn't invited, lolz but that's how it should be when they've been declining since CFS 2016 in both talent along with player base. The current (2018) prize pool is a downgrade from the previous CFGI tournaments (2016/2017) though since it only offers half the cash compared to before ...

We finally get a break from SV's dominance too so it's going to be AG (All Gamers) and Q9 (Qing Jiu) who will represent China but hopefully Pacific Macta and Boss.CFVN makes the cut too during their CFEL finals ...

I don't think I've been this hyped to watch to watch a new CF tournament ever since CFS 2016 ?
  • Willing to be that further details won't be announced until last minute.
  • Hi Guys!We are from TURKEY..We want to join to CFS 2018 Competitive. What is needed? What should we do?

Not much. Once CFS comes around just register for a CFS national finals of your choice (NA/UK or Egypt or possible some through another client handled by a different publisher) and then install the "anti-cheat" that they specify but make sure none of your teammates are residences in a licensed region where a different CFS national finals are held from the one you chose ...
  • When will you announce the teams for CFCL -E- ?
    Much Love

  • Is the CFCL registration available during all seasons or does a team have to register from month 1?

    It's during all the seasons.
