No one made you spend money on bulletproof. I have also spent money on certain items like color chat/name, mutation grenades, mutation spikes etc. which they've previously also given out for free in events. To be fair, you don't have to spend any real money to get bullet proof these days as they're are in coupon store for,30 days per 15 coupons if I remember correctly. That's 30 coupons for 30 days of full BP and you van get coupons from free ZP crates from events and GP crates.
