Bad Frame stutter every minute

Hi there,

I've had this issue for ages now because there's just no way of googling a solution because "Crossfire FPS stutter" is a very broad search!

Every 30 seconds to a minute the game will freeze for a second. Doesn't seem too bad right? but when you've died countless times due to this its become very annoying.

It cant be my gfx card because its a 980ti. I have a suspicion that it might be rendering too many frames at once, is there a setting to stop this from happening?
