I obviously can't speak to the work habits of someone I've never met, but we have GM's that work all through the night for patches. GM's that log into the forum on weekends to handle things even if you don't see it. GM's that come in early, and stay late, and sometimes put in 12 hour work days. When it boils down to it though, this is a job. It is a place of employment. And while this game is a super high priority for us, and puts food on our tables at the end of the day, we do have families to go home to and other things to do in our free time (Which we have little of, I might add.)

Also, not sure what his view on CF and priorities were, but unfortunately he isn't here anymore and thus its no longer his #1 priority there, either.
