Update me

It's been quite some time since I have played crossfire. Except for about 1 hour last week. Surprisingly it caught my interest enough to have me hop back on today. Some of you may remember me but I've always been a semi-competitive player focused strongly on S&D. I lost interest in the game when you couldn't find a room without a cheater in it. That situation is seemingly a lot better but only considering I've had about 2 hours of game time to come up with that conclusion.

So whats new?
Hows the cheating situation?
Hows the competitive community doing?
Why does my regular m4 seem to be shooting slower than it used too?
Swat 2.0?
Black widow 2.0?
Any new guns worth using that aren't completely OP and boring to use?

Comments

  • The cheating population has dropped a lot within the years, but nevertheless there's still about a 5% population.
The competitive side is actually doing very well, NA eSports 2016 registration came out, RTZ qualifiers just finished with team wow winning. I definitely recommend that if you're deciding to comeback or not you should since the competitive scene is getting a lot of love :)

    - New patches always bring new ZP weapons and VIPs. There are a few new maps, the clan page is back along with the player search function. Ranked 2 has started, but will probably be ending within a month or so.

    - Well since I mentioned ranked you'll be happy to know that about 90% of the time you'll find a hacker in one of the games (sometimes more). As for in pubs they aren't AS prevalent there, but still around. I've found a lot of the hackers have been using wall hacks and trying to pass off as legit recently.

-Can't really speak to what has been happening in competitive, but it looks as if Z8 is trying to bring it back a little.

-Idk why your M4 would seem to shoot slower, however a few guns have had some changes to them so it's not impossible that the regular M4 was one of them.

-All of the 2.0 things came after CF2.0 was released here in CFNA. Basically its all just graphic updates and map remakes.

-As for non-OP guns that are new and fun to use I've been liking the Rec-7 which is a free gun you can get from just logging in for 7 days. Also the TRG which is a GP crate sniper rifle is fun, but they have a ZP version of it now as well and the skin is fairly attractive.
  • I recommend not playing in Ranked Matches.

Well as far as rejoining the competitive scene I probably won't for now as I'm still playing on an outdated computer that was barely good enough to play back years ago.. now it's crap.

I'll probably stick to pubs then for now, not really interested in a "Rank" anyways. I'm going to spend the GP I accrued over my hiatus (somehow over 100k and I know I was poor when I quit) on the TRG crate, hopefully I'll get it.

Are they even worth anything besides rank? Like a prize or something

Well, previous season everybody who was golden rank + received a perm silver nade & namecard, and a 180 days spray if im right.

You also get new kill marks. but the hack situation in ranked is very bad now. you better can go pub and wait for xtraps updates etc, and play ranked that day.
