Completely delete the crossfire installation and download it from another mirror. -

Ensure, that Crossfire.exe, gameguard.des and gameguard.mon files got full access through your firewall and turn your Antivirus program off for the Installation.
If your runing Windows Vista / Windows 7, run the Setup and the Gamestart later as Administrator.
