I just downloaded the update then I got this message.
How can I fix it ?

The update is still ongoing... Just wait for awhile.
Even if you got in now, this will happen:

Download new setup file again and wait till the servers come online. You are likely to get file changed error when you patch CF while it's down. So dont patch it.

i just updated today, but in the update process my antivirus (nod32 v7) just popped up saying something about THEMIDA packer on file cshell.dll (i think this is the name) and quarantined that file. update seems to perform well, but when game started, i got FILE IS CHANGED message on the file cshell.dll. i restored the file from quarantine and then game start without errors, but i fail to connect to server right now.

Well... I have the same error.

I have ESET Smart Security antivirus, so I just search the quarantine file in the settings and press the "restore" button. It works for me so, I hope it can work for you too...

This error happens when your Anti-Virus/ Firewall doesn't allow some aspects of the game to run normally. To prevent this error, you need to put CrossFire files (the entire CrossFire folder) as exception in Anti-Virus & Firewall and install the game new.

It got fixed by luck but I dont have an anti-virus and my firewall is disabled ..
