No sound

I just started playing CF after I got tired of AVA, but when I play, there is no sound. There is music in the menu, and when I get a double kill I hear my girl shout, but I don't hear any walking or gunfire. I checked my settings and all my sound is turned up to max.

I hear something about a snddev.dll or something. How to tell if its broken?
Edit: I replaced it and still no sound

You might have to redownload the game, it almost sounds as if some of your sound files are empty.

Did that, but still broken

I sent a ticket to z8games but since they take forever to reply I was hoping someone else knows what to do

Same problem. I reinstalled the game 6 times, 2 times i followed exactly the guide how to remove and install crossfire cleanly.
Ive got the same problem in crossfire eu. Probably i need to install something, which usually is installed on every computer.
My drivers are up to date, i even installed flash player shockwave etc.
Does someone have a clue?

Ive had windows 7 prof N.
With the normal win7 prof i dont have this issue anymore.

So you run it with comparability mode or something?
