No sound

I recently switched to Windows 8.1 & I couldn't be happier.. Except with Crossfire. I have radio sounds & Sounds when I am in the main lobby. I do not have - Footstep or Gunshot sounds.

Steps I took
Reinstalled the Snd dll [did nothing]
Tripple checked my audio sounds were set to on with 100% volume [did nothing]
Reinstalled the game[did nothing] Reinstalled it twice to be exact.
I even updated my audio driver's to the newest version. Nothing happened.
I tried switching speakers and tried using my headphones. Same problem

It's quite frustrating because the game relies on sound so much. Especially footsteps & gunshots, being the main 2.
