CrossFire ERROR MESSAGES
"Disconnected from the Server."
The error is probably the best known and most common error in the Crossfire. It cannot be avoided because it may be caused by many things. 1: While you are playing, or in the lobby, and you are using a browser, you may receive this error. 2: If the ping shoots, it is more likely to show this error. Using hacks, can also cause this.
"Errors in initrender."
This error can occur due to several reasons. One, Outdated Video Drivers. First, you have to know what kind of video card you have. Warranty from the manufacturer of your video card invite you to get there the latest versions. Maybe it will not appear until after a clean installation of Windows, the graphics card,but only "standard VGA". So make sure you have the graphics card installed.
"Client file corruption detected, Closing game client."
This error is common in VMWare, but there is a solution, but it is not working 100%. 1. Click Start> Control Panel> Add or Remove Programs. 2. Remove Crossfire from your computer. 4. Delete Z8Games folder. 5. Re-install Crossfire.
"Crossfire Send Error Report."
saying "Send Error Report?" and when you click one of two buttons, it closes your game client. So far, I have not found a way around this "error."
You can always try to re-open the game again. If you continue to get this error report, please send than a Support Ticket to Z8Games.
"FILE IS CHANGED W[2007] L[0] and other File Changed/Forged Errors."
1. Uninstall the game completely. 2. Disable your antivirus completely. 3. Re-install Crossfire. 4. Re-activate your antivirus.
The reason this error occurs can be if you install Crossfire and your anti-virus program finds one or more of the files "dangerous."
"The source File is corrupted."
This error is similar to the "file is changed" error.
See that "FILE IS CHANGED" error for instructions.
"HGWC errors."
This means that something is interfering with the connection through the server file WatcherHGWC or Xtrap. The consequences of things that can happen fromthis are: 1. You can reboot your modem / router via your network or DNS. Check if your connection is in the on-going. 2. Just google the error code specific to your problem or question on the official forum for Z8Games objectives, there are many HGW Socket errors.
"GameGuard initialization error code 114."
Restart your computer, and if your computer has a virus, please download an anti-virus program, then scan your computer. If there is a problem with your video card, try updating your video card with software and drivers that came along with your PC.
Note: You must have DriverX 9.0 to run CrossFire, if you are using 9.0 DriverX, follow the steps below:
Start > Run > cmd dxdiag > Diagnostic Tool > Check.
Check if your DriverX 9.0 and DirectDraw are working correctly by testing.
"CF Launcher Error."
Re-install the game, but remember to remove before re-installing. Control Panel > Add Remove Programs > Uninstall all files in the Crossfire. Also, remove the Z8Games folder aswell.
"Can't start Cross Fire or download the .ini file."
1. Please make sure that your antivirus/firewall isn't blocking Crossfire.exe.
2. Restart the computer just in case.
3. Be sure to install the most recent Microsoft.NET Framework. Re-download if you already have it, just to make sure it is up to date. This should solve more problems with the .exe. 4. Go to the game folder and try to launch the "patcher_cf.exe" file manually to skip the launcher program.
5. If you are using Windows Vista/7, please be sure that the following files, "crossfire.exe" and "patcher_cf.exe," are all running as an administrator. (Right click on the file and go to "Properties" and then click "Compatibility" tab.)
6. Change the "crossfire.exe" and "patcher_cf.exe" compatibility mode to WindowsXP SP2 and disable "scaling on high DPI settings."
You should also disable visual themes and desktop composition if that does not work.
(These options are located in the "Compatibility" tab in the properties files.)
7. Re-install again.
It is also possible that your initial download was corrupted at which point you may want to try a download manager to get the file and try again.
