When will be the next patch? Saidin.
Even most of the xtrap patch had not been efficient for 1 days, as Saidin mentioned that the x-trap shows how z8 cares about the hack situation, please tell us when is your next caring about the hacking situation?
Also the vote system need to be changed. When there is only 1 hacker in a room, we have difficulty to vote kick him, now there are normally 3 hackers in a room. Limited vote can not handle such a large number.
Even though z8 would not sell any hak code, but the soft rule for hacker kicking leads to today's situation.
1. x-trap, updated once per 7 days (my best estimate), would normally be bypassed in 7 hours. Should you suggest player to play this game inside 7 hours after the patch?
2. banning, we know your stuff are busy with that. But no one knows how many, in fact, no one cares how many now, because if it works, we should not see so many hackers in the game.
3. voting, the beautiful limited vote, no kick for opposite team, and 9:6 vote failure, would make the hacker very happy. AND we can not even kick them if they leave fast.
The hacker are so overwhelming, when they can easily enter a room and ruin it without any instantly way to prevent them, they would be happy to do that again and again.
Please trust the community, even just a little part of them, and make host kicking possible. Otherwise, I would think z8's strategy is to make the community get familiar with the hacker spoiled games and continue to be the victim.
Please don't continue with the "z8 sell hack" topic, I never mention that in my thread.
===================================
Additional, host kicking rule:
1. remove vote kick.
2. host can kick any one in his room with reasons: hacker, racism, rude, ...., during the game.
3. if the same host are still hosting the same room, the player kicked for hack could not enter the room.
4. host kick can happen during game, and after each round
This is stage 1, at this point, several experienced host might create heavens for legit players. There should be less complain for z8, because it is just which room a player choose.
Next stage, make reinforce the rule for host kicking. And accumulating host kicking, correctness count. Players can choose a room based on host scores.
Then, always make the best performance player [evaluate by the kicking count and correctness] to be the host.

There are so many flaws in what you have just mentioned.
First off, x-trap, like most if not all anti-cheat's updates daily. The patches, however, may not patch the largest and the most "popular" hack out there today. These patches do patch small bugs, glitches, and some minor hacks that were not as complex.
Second, player banning is determined mostly by reports. There are so many players in the game that it would be extremely hard for a GM to scout every room and ban hackers. There are hackers because the hacks don't get detected, meaning they can avoid the auto-ban system. The best way to counter hackers? Just report them through support. IP bans are issued if needed.
Third, kicking the opposite team. Sure, we all had experiences playing a game where the other team won't kick a person who's hacking because they want to win. Of course, there also the possibility that the other person is just being annoying or flaming you, or targeting specifically you to make you mad. A system that lets you kick anyone in the room will cause utter chaos. If anything, refer to support for hackers and harassment.
Now to your idea for more power to the host. What if the hacker is the host? What if the host decides to rage in game and kick every person who kills them? What if the host decides to kick everyone on the other team to win? There are so many flaws to this idea, and would completely wreck this game. People are not naturally good, that they would play legitimately; And you cant tell me you haven't kicked a person out of rage. A similar feature is implemented in Combat Arms that any player can purchase with virtual currency, and that is abused to kick the good players. -
BlackSmithSY wrote: »Another question

Is it same for z8?
Not exactly a question that can't be solved by logic, no?
A player is not obligated to kick whoever is causing grief in the game, although they are encouraged to do so. If any case, all players should use the best of their abilities to judge whether a person should or should not stay in the room.
Z8 does not support hacking in any way, obviously. There wouldn't be an anti-cheat program if Z8 didn't try to prevent it. Sure, it may seem like X-Trap isn't working, but certain largely influencing hacks that are out now and in the past seem to be well coded and very sophisticated. They are much harder to make and manage, so they are also much harder to patch. -
Actually host kick would solve all the problems in this game for intelligent people. Now to your idea for more power to the host. What if the hacker is the host? What if the host decides to rage in game and kick every person who kills them? What if the host decides to kick everyone on the other team to win? There are many things to avoid having a hacking host, such as:- Host a room yourself.
- Join your friends room.
- Join a room with someone you don't know personally but you have played with them and know they are fair.
This would mean you can have games free from hacking, being kicked wrongly and not having to wait for 15 morons to hopefully F11 the obvious hacker only for them to deny the kick not once, not twice, but several times, if they even kick at all.
Also it gives noobs what they want, the ability to create a room and kick everyone that kills them, everyone is happy.
On top of that hacking would almost become redundant.
And yes I've never kicked someone out of blind rage, for no reason, or because they were just good (I have a brain). The only people I rage on and rage on light heartedly but seemingly seriously are indeed the ragers. If they whine on and on aggressively about me hacking I will F11 them, or even ask someone to kick them, also I will admit that "I am hacking" to make them rage etc and will boot them afterwards if I'm host - But I'm only helping them because no one should have to play in a room with hackers. -
I completely understand your point. However, there may be players that are in different situations. Maybe they don't have friends online. I think that all players would eventually turn to public rooms, and it may be lead by a host that will abuse the power. Like you said, host power will benefit under an intelligent (hopefully responsible) host. This situation could be mixed, but in my opinion, host power to the majority of this game is a bad idea.
And you're point about kicking out of blind rage. I understand if you have never done it, but I was actually referring to the vast majority of players, most of which are young. They would usually complain about the person hacking, or kicking whoever they can to make themselves feel better. -

Ofc with this community host kicking would be a bad thing as they can't even use the current system correctly and it takes others to approve their kicks first.
However with that said and done (even if you have no friends) you can play with clans (members hosting) that you know to be fair, or people you only know of by playing with them (but you know they are fair), or if push comes to shove host your own which surely would be desirable.
Ofc the majoritory of the rooms if not nearly all would be ripe with abuse, however it's not that much different now, people F11 everything (generally).
With this in place Z8 could dismiss all the rage threads about hackers not by saying "play with friends" and other ridiculous and impractical stuff but they could actually say; There are given ways to have a 100% hack free game (your just moaning). Players I think across the board will be happy about this, what no hackers in my room? (they love kicking anyone that might be a hacker)
The only people that should be concerned somewhat is decent players, but if you can host your own room and get away from the threat of being kicked, and hacked on, then it's a price worth paying. -

Throw it away and start with something that works Z8.

Report's are also bull**** and don't work. I report people all

there are 3-5 hackers in a room. It's asking of too much effort from

Use your brain. And read careful.
If hacker is host, then just change a room. Do you want to play with them, leave it for hackers and those who want to take the challenge.
You know the difference? Hacker can no more enter a room and force everyone else to leave. -
I completely understand your point. However, there may be players that are in different situations. Maybe they don't have friends online. Then just find another room.
You are argue some trivial problem here, such like what if some bad guy open a shop and sell things. It is your choice to decide if you want to buy things there. And you can block any bad guy from your shop.
What if you open a shop and all the bad guys just come and you can not drive them out?
Use your brain. -

1/Then change room, find your friend's room, or someone have good reputation for hosting, or hosting your own room.
2/Now tell me how many times you have to leave a room because of hackers. They can simply enter every room and force others to leave. 5 noobs would not vote would make your precious vote useless.
3/As what we can learn from statistics, you wish would not happen in recent 100 years. z8 is also trying to persuade you that hacker are common culture, you should accept them and be happy with what z8 provided.
4/What a .... question? Then you can make him like you so that you can stay inside his room. Either cheat together with him or just get slaughtered by him. You know why vote kick would fail again and again?
5/As your question continue, I guess my answer would be hard for you to understand.
100 rooms, each has 2 hackers.
or
100 rooms, some has 10 hackers per room, and other has no hackers. Which situation is better for legit player?
Use your arse to think might be better than use your head. -
Today I saw x-trap updates.
2 games later I saw hackers.
4 games later I saw pile of hackers.
In the one hand, z8 said it is x-trap that who has not solved the problem, instead of z8.
On the other hand, z8 try to tell us that they hate hack very much because x-trap has some update. -
I completely understand your point. However, there may be players that are in different situations. Maybe they don't have friends online. Sorry to be rough to you in previous response.
The wrongly kicked situation happens alot, sometimes I was kicked when I just enter a room to wait the game to start.
It happens now, as an exisitng condition. And you have to figure out why host want to do so. My personal reason --- I can get mad when hackers are in my room and see no vote started. So my rule is kick hack or get kicked, if I can not see the vote start from you, and apparently there is hacker in your team, sorry, I don't think I need you in my room, even after kick the whole team, I find no one comes and has to leave the room.
Now back to my post about the second question. The community, as trained in z8's treatment of hackers, are familiar with this situation now. They know there will be hackers, and they know if they kick their hacker and the other team would not kick theirs, they will be ****ed up. So that many would be just ignore the existence of hackers. z8 have difficulty or in the wrong way in hacker control. They are ****ed up already and wish the community to accept the situation, just as most of us do. But some of us can not enjoy it, some mad kids try to revenge by installing the hack code, and some others would f11 anyone -- I can understand why. I see hackers choose some teammates to kick to delay the vote against himself, and reduce the chance of being voted. So if the player has not start a vote, I would think they would not care, so why let him play?
Kicking hacker was once the community's default behavior, now it becomes optional, and at last only a samll portion of player want to kick hacker. Then, at last, the voting system, the only way you can protect the game in real time, would be a failure.
z8 has many ways to narrow down the population of hackers. If they count the rate players make kills, you will find it. In recent several months, many players have gained their captain rank. And normal player like me would need 3 years -- I am not a bad aimer, and played alot, but I am still far away from that rank.
The current situation is, if some of us want to host a clean room, we have no enough support to do so. I would normally join hk1997's room. His room normally allow only 8 or 10 players, we normally stay on different side so that if there are hackers, we can kick, but now sometime he has to quit and start another room. Limited vote and vote failure gives hacker enough reason to continue hack.
Suppose hackers find they can not enter most of the rooms, and the only rooms opens to them are full of hackers, they might get bored, or at worst, they can enjoy the competition of hacking code. -

Dude seriously.... use the multi-quote function and stop double posting.
OT: If you can't accept that they are making serious attempts to curb hackers then I am at a loss to see why you would continue to play this game. This game is harder to maintain in comparison to other major hits such as CoD or BF3 or any other large scale higher quality games.
Also note that G4Box is a relatively small company in comparison to say... Ubisoft or Blizzard. -

xTrap is a program created and maintained by WiseLogic, used in almost all CrossFire version to prevent players from using hacking tools.
Like anti-viruses programs, xTrap is launched along with CrossFire and continue manipulating memories while CF is running to detect suspicious processes that try to interact with CF.exe. If something goes wrong, xTrap will close CF and gives out an error messenger, telling players the possible reasons and general suggestions to fix it. Accessing Process viewer like Task Manager is also counted as suspicious activities (This is xTrap's self-defense module to avoid being "killed")
Though not as effective as many people think, xTrap is actually better at detecting and blocking hack tools, some that GameGuard can't detect. Naturally hack tools are updated faster than xTrap because hackers are everywhere, while WiseLogic must work on updating their xTrap for every publishers, so xTrap often falls behind when coming to updates. However, xTrap is still a necessary tool to help protecting CF against popular and public hacks, which many people can use for free.
To date, only CF China does not use xTrap. They have their own anti-cheating program called Tencent Protect, which works similar to GameGuard, but much more effective due to in-game file checking. This process requires powerful computers however, so players with decent PCs may have to wait a bit long before the game is loaded. -
Dude seriously.... use the multi-quote function and stop double posting.
They are making serious attempt, but in wrong direction. I heard the in game stuff, how many do they want to hire?
This is a good game at the first place. Maybe your suggestion is right, I am considering to buy some modern game whose control is not too complex, if I still cannot see the change in 2 months.
And probably this should be suggested to every player. -

Like anti-viruses programs, xTrap is launched along with CrossFire and continue manipulating memories while CF is running to detect suspicious processes that try to interact with CF.exe. That is why I think they are in a wrong direction. Antivirus's virus definition file would be updated, normally, 24 hours after the virus outburst. Apparently x-trap can not. This leads to averagely 7 days gaps. In other word, almost 80% of the time the game is unprotected.
Ban system is also slow, too many hacker report would further slow them down.
In game ban needs lots of stuffs, and they have to be very careful, also I don't think they can be in game 24/7. As 9 said, z8 is small company, to hire this much of stuffs would be a big burden.
Because the vote kick too easy to be bypassed, it can not provide protection now. Alternatively, I believe hosting kicking would be good solution.
Just saying, as I have said it again and again, maybe it is not worth to consider at all. I think I would finally go back to CS. -
sure G4Box is a relatively small company with tons of moneyDude seriously.... use the multi-quote function and stop double posting.

Xtrap does update on a near 24 hour basis.
Their auto ban bans hundreds of accounts per day, and Support reviews thousands of reports per day, not only hacking reports but also account issues and chargeback issues.
The kick vote works fine. It fufils it's purpose to give an opportunity for players to kick someone out of a room. The host can kick whoever they want inbetween games.
Having a "large" revenue stream does not automatically mean they have a huge profit. There are plenty of costs from server maintenance to the website itself as well as paying any dues to any contracts. For obvious reasons there is no obligation for them to disclose specific costs nor amounts.sure G4Box is a relatively small company with tons of money -

the server cost they already have for the next 100 years rented .. when I see how many clans there are already here and now everyone has at least one weapon zp please do not tell me about cost .. these are multi-millionaires and it is no wonder that they have been designated as mod they give me such an answer even for the next 100 years paid no offense -

You cannot assume costs when there hasn't been any official dollar amounts given out. Just because someone has a ZP weapon does not mean they have made a profit. Again I shall reiterate, having a "large" revenue does not automatically mean they have a huge profit.
Can you prove that they "have the servers for the next 100 years rented"? -

can you prove how big they should be the cost? they're talking about alleged amounts .. I'm talking about only 1 zp most have so much more than just one time they look at my account and there are many of those if not better ... -

I have not made any assumptions except that there IS a cost. You're the one making an allegations.
You cannot take whatever you did to your account and then appy it to all, or even a majority of other accounts. Complete hearsay and unsubstantiated. -

I think you speak of just such allegations as "so many have cost" if they do not know how much it cost exactly why are you here talking about such a topic? this is exactly like the anti-hack system what you are telling us years here and I still see her every day and are 3 years
