CF mainly runs on the CPU, so - a CPU upgrade would have the biggest impact...

Optimize your OS (services, autostarts, cleaning, etc. ...) - this can free some resources and CPU power - depending on your OS setup and how you have maintained it - google for it...to much to write down here...

In the game LOWER the graphic settings under the video options: - lower resolution etc. - turn off the effects (or set them to low).
