I personally own an M14 EBR and would suggest going for it since this Ultimate Gold skin looks ugly in my opinion and the reload is in fact faster (Nonnen has made a video about it, it's about 5 frames faster). The difference is not much at all, but it might save your life one day. Plus, the ribbon is another incentive to get it.
However, the golden M14 is most likely easier to win since tickets are generally easier than crates. Still, you should be aware that there are players who have used hundreds of tickets and still didn't win, so you should take nothing for granted, even with 142 tickets.

M14EBR Ultimate Gold.. i think its the same % chance of winning/not winning both guns, but its more better to try tickets since the items they give are better than crate items..
Better prizes and also i don't need any coupons anymore. I got 1 AWM 1 M4 1 AK 3 DE 1 M4-C from coupons lol. Plus maybe will change my luck since i tried 400-450 crates on the reg and i cant get it and only 66 tickets so let's try more tickets. -
I agree with my fellow Sir over here.
I have the M14 Old-Xmas and I never use it. Maybe because I'm a competitive player but that's just me. Prefer AK-Knife crates over M14 crates any day
tbh, the ak knife for me is the gun with the highest recoil evaaa... -
It happens with some guns. I've done 2,003 crates on the P90-C without winning it, the only reason I wanted it was because it looks kinda cool and at the time it was the only GP gun I didn't have that I even mildly wanted.
Who knows, maybe they'll make a VIP M14 some day so you can just buy it. I doubt they will though because if they did they wouldn't improve the stats at all they'd just reskin it and give it some gp/exp or whatever bonuses. -

Well, I guess taste isn't arguable...
I personally find the skin to be too shiny and it should also have more of a yellowish hue in my opinion.
