GhostMode died. nice job.

  • I think, the MotG III should be hosted, since most of the GMers had waited for it.. But z8 did not want to.

    Summary:

-The ego's made some of the GMers quit.

-The noobs who can't play Ghostmode and did not want to learn more than rushing and etc. made the Pro's quit.

-The competitive scene at GM died, and people ain't got fun anymore at playing GM since there's no adrenaline.

    - People just left CF due to working all day.

-Too many noobs who just kicked tons of good GMers made the GMers quit

    - (Too many cheaters)

-Too many OP ZP melee's came out and that ruint the Mode, since the only thing you have to do now is to be capable to bhop and right click the guy/slash the guy.

-Too many sprayers who ruint the mode, made the GMers being BL-sided (or) made them quit.

-So many cryers who did not know how to play (OR) knew how to play but still cried, made the GMers quit (OR) change to SnD.

    - GM like we knew were GM in '09 and '10. Now, the New or (old) Generation of GM players are trying to keep the mode active. But it's failing.

-The failure about the " March of the Ghosts 2" made a lot of the GMers quit, since it was not fair against pF and other teams , because they played against Hackers in Clanwars and it still counted.

-GMers quit, because Z8games ain't do a shet for GM nowadays but when they did , those were a big fail except MotG I and Talons' Tourny

This is just a opinion by the GMers around. Is not a reason to be offened who ever is thinking to be.

Correct me, if I'm wrong at some steps.

We all know that MOTG2 was not the best tournament that could have been done - there have been things which have been decided quite badly. Saidin knows that and this is probably one of the reasons, why he doesn't want to host one this year - he has to make the best rules as possible and he has to make sure that everything works out fine.

It's not that easy to do, even for a company. In fact, if they do it, the expectations are much higher than if it would be when a bunch of "no-name" people host one. That's why I will try to host one, and if possible, with a permanent prize or at least a bunch of crates and ZP. Honestly, I can very well save my time and effort to do so, if I see that people like you are talking so much trash. The only reason why I want to host a tournament is to bring all those "all-mighty" GM players back to the game and show the people that we haven't forgot about our special mode, but also to show, that even people who don't directly work at Z8 can do something like this too.

It is very disappointing to read what you were saying. People quit GM because of the new melees? Because of Breath down? Because of Bunnyhopping? Because of Armor and loud weapons?

This is pretty ridiculous. If you are such an all mighty GM Pro, then these things shouldn't have an effect to you, and it doesn't matter which side you are on. I won't go and explain why every kind of those mentioned items have little effect to your gameplay if you can handle it - I will just put it like this : If you honestly expect to just walk silently around and wait for a ghost to come near you, so you can hear his breath, and you get killed with thinking that the breath should be fixed, then you shouldn't play that mode. It isn't all about that man. You have to jump around, get some instinct for locating ghosts without hearing them, and trick them when you have heard them once.

I think I will still host one since I think there are still some people who would appreciate it and are real GM players.

Anyways, there's always clans to GM scrim and usually not hard to find pubs with more than one of a same clan in it. Plus, the champions still exist:

I think people like to follow each other a bit too much. One person sees it. Then another, and a few more after that. And it makes the people that saw it think "Whoa, look what this guy is saying! He even quit because of it!" And so more people start thinking the over-exaggerated thoughts of the original person. Then we have all these "This game sucks!", "Do something z8!", "I used to like this game!" threads of people going along with what the original guy said. Then people start quitting. A lot of people start quitting. They say the game is bad, they say it is beyond repair. Then the people that stayed start complaining that all their buddies are gone, and that they have none to play with. And so they keep going with the complaints, ignoring the improvement, ignoring the fun.

There still is fun to be had. There are still players that love to play gm. GM will die when the game does.

The game is not perfect, everyone knows that. There will always be a problem. The point is to think your own thoughts, and to not make something worse than it really is.

Not really. We all had to deal with most of these back then at '09, '10: OP melee, OP guns, armor, ego, sprayers, work, studies, etc. Even though the only thing that kept up there was the players' ego but, oh well. And it wasn't just MOTG2, but it started with it. Right after that tournament we had Talon's, which would have been much more successful if MOTG didn't fail like that and made a good N of players quit. Still, the tournament, somehow, was successful.

I'm not sure but I'd say that after MOTG2, 6-7 unofficial tournaments were announced, and only Talon's and Sugoi's were successful, as far as I know.

Also, it's because some people won't stop complaining about the rulesets. Sugoi's could have been more successful as well but, since the GM community is so lucky, there was some breath issue right before the tournament and BD wouldn't work. So, instead of BD + knife against GP weapons and no armor which is, imo, the best ruleset for a competitive match, he had to pick no BD + axe.

So yea, you could say both sides are to be blamed.

Oh my, how dare you...If it's Gohan vs Cell Imma smack you ._. .

Anyway, I wouldn't say it's about being easy or not, but most likely it'll be kinda late for them to fix it 2 years later. Even though it'd be funny if it didn't, I, personally, really hope yours and Z8's, whenever they announce it, work out so people start playing GM again.

Unfortunately I've got a damn high ping on this version, which makes it pretty hard for me to play on GR. Even though I managed to hold myself on Talon's at the few matches I had to GR, I'm a BL-only player on NA. So, the few other tournies that were hosted and wouldn't allow a main to switch with a sub between halves like Talon's, weren't really the best, at least for me. I mean, of course, there's no reason to change their ruleset just cause of 1 person but, honestly, why wouldn't they allow such a simple thing like switching...?

Anyway that's one person's opinion, but I guess most GMers would agree that Talon's had the best ruleset and if you're planning on hosting a tournament, I suggest you use his as a base. I'd be glad to try getting Contagion's team back and participate.

  • It sort of died when they removed the Perm Combat Axe for 60 coupons. Although I will admit, there's both pros and cons for removing. On the other hand, it was stated that they would compensate for the removal of the Combat Axe for coupons by having more ghost mode events, which they did. Not many of them, but they still did.

They only reason I dislike ghost mode is because it's hard to play with ~4 scrubs on your team, when playing GR, spraying the hell out of their guns. And apparently, when someone does good on GR because they have ears that work, you're hacking.

  • The only things that do the dying in Ghost Mode are the the players on the opposite side of me. \m/
  • Ghost Mode will never die :D There will always be ghosts who like to troll Gr's and Gr's who will push back :)
I think it could be most competitive mode ever but people need to push harder and stop whining. People shouldn't give up easily like they do most of the time, and they should forget about word "SPRAY"! Someone said in this thread how Ghost mode got inbalanced so there are just noobs and pros nothing in between, its because there is too much whining! How can people learn to play this mode if we "pros" are kicking them for every thing they do wrong? Let them play how they want and once they will figure out that spray can't help you in ghost mode. I'm sure EVERYONE had at least one day when they wanted to blast on ghosts with ak47 or some machinery but some time ago there weren't that much pros in Ghost Mode specially in Black List who would be able to slit their troat in a middle of a spray party to show that spraying is wrong way to succeed in Ghost mode but a perfect way to die in confusion.

One thing is bothering me for a long time, most of Ghost Mode clans spit on each other instead of talking things out. I know it sounds wierd to talk things out for some people because this is FPS but it is also community which we are all taking part in and we need to shape it. Today I finished match in Ghost Mode with score 73/13 and yes in some way I was lucky for not getting kicked out but in the other hand I was talking to both BL side and GR side trough whole match and players really had fun with me, more important thing they were relaxed, they didn't worry about hackers because both teams were nice to each other and we could play and enjoy that game without bothering.

I'm sure there are still a lot of pros in game and I think we could do a great job in ghost mode community because most of us can smell a hacker as soon as he join our room but we shouldn't worry about newbies who just got in Ghost Mode for the first time. Since they can't tell who is pro and who isn't we are the ones that have to keep our rooms clean but we need good teamwork at least in vote kicks and (sorry for repeating) stop worrying about newbies!

Well, I'm not a good GMer at all but I like the mode. I prefer to play as BL (All because the AK/K1A/M12s sprayers) even with less KD than when I play as GR.

Even as ghost, good GM players still getting kicked. I saw a lot of good GMers get kicked by 8/2 in vote system, etc. (I'm the only who f12). Pretty sad.

Another thing: good GM players keep kicking other good ones just for trolling them...

  • Haha hey at least I'm polite. Ghost mode is supposed to be fun & spooky and I do have fun no matter how many times I get kicked because that way I know I didn't become rusty :D
About OP melee weapons I'll just say Kriss ain't one xD
    Good night Ziro ;)

I think it time to quit. I have found new game. :D
  • Too many tryhard$ in GM imo people spending 5000 dollars on headphones, silenced guns, they really kill gm for me I love to play with sprayers, and non bunny hoppers pretty fun, 1 tryhard kills the game for me.
