Load up fail
I don't know if I'm the only one receiving this problem, but whenever I try to boot up crossfire it appears as if it'll load, but then it doesnt. This started happening yesterday where I was able to log in after several attempts, and now I am unable to log in at all. On xFire it says crossfire is loaded, but then goes back to the default " Online Status " meaning its crashed.
As you can clearly see in the video I've attached crossfire attempts to run, and then fails.

edit: not sure if this'll help, but here are my pc specs
AMD phenom II x4 965 os: windows 7 ultimate 64bit

As [GM]Saidin stated - it´s mostly a server sided problem...

Early this day i got a problem that nearly had looked the same...but a pop-up appeared at my side "blabla stoped working - need to be closed..." ...idk, but maybe my solution can help you too ...maybe a try (...when the servers are up again - atm they are down...)?

Try completely closing Xfire and then running CF. Note, to completely close Xfire you must do so through the Task Manager and end the process. Xfire has caused some users to crash in the past.
If a re-installation didn't work, you might try completely re-downloading the game. Uninstall the program completely, then click here to begin the download. -

closing xfire did not solve the problem, and i uninstalled & then reinstalled the game twice and received the same issue -

I have a suggestion for you because when this problem happens to me I do it and it works, Go to the Task Manager ( Pressing CTRL + ALT + DELETE ) after doing that go to "Processes" tab and search for crossfire.exe and and Press End Task.
Load the game again and it should work fine. -

did that literally the minute I realized I was having an issue,[MOD]Seashore wrote: »Re-installing and re-downloading are two different things. Have you tried both?
yea, I uninstalled my game and deleted the program files folder. It worked the first time, and directly after I closed it and attempted to re open and it went back to not working. help plz
edit: I personally believe this is an xtrap error because I see xtrap attempting to run in my hidden icon section, and then suddenly closes / crashes. Any ideas? -
Bump, having the same problem. Reinstalled twice but to no avail.
Windows 7 64 bit, the color scheme changes (which usually happens when you load up CF) as if it's loading normally but reverts back to the original color scheme 3-5 seconds afterwards. Any updates? -
I post my solution already...but maybe...
Since i put the crossfire.exe to the exception-list of DEP it loads with no problems (-if the servers are up) - tried it a minute ago again...and it still works.
Had the same problems before, and nothing had worked...reinstall, etc. - but this works for me! - win7 Ultimate 64bit.
If someone wanna try that too - i explained it here:

It´s not a anti-virus software...it belongs to the OS...even it helps to prevent virus behaviour to reach memory addresses that the OS use.
It is active by default - and not so easy to deactivate completly - which I DON´T recommend!!!
It also belongs to your hardware (mainly the CPU), if my solution works for you...so it is no common solution maybe - i think...
edit:
"...because youre a br..." ? ? ? ;D
