220 with/without recording as I get with a 3.4ghz processor with radeon 6970...except yours should be more stable unlike mine which ranges from 170-220.

Also depends on the write/read speed of your hdd I guess...but since the recording files don't write that much data anyway per second it shouldn't be a problem

What if i substitute the 4.2 quad with a 3.6 8 core? In terms of fps and in terms on rendering videos what can you say

If you're working with 3D, then programs like Cinema 4D use up the CPU more than the RAM. When I render Cinema4D stuff, my CPU maxes out to 100% but my RAM never crosses the 40% mark. If you're working with something like After Effects, it heavily depends on your RAM when rendering.

You also didn't indicate how much RAM you've got? Either way, if you have around 4/6GB RAM you should remain stable at 200fps while recording even with the 3.6 8-core.

You should look up benchmarks for your video card, just google it.

your fps will remain the same, a stable 200+ and rendering videos won't make too much of a difference for a low maintenance game like crossfire. If you were doing professional Crysis editing or something stupid like that, ofc it makes a difference, but rendering videos depends a lot on your video card and your HDD drive. You can make a huge difference by purchasing an SSD.

    ~190-230 FPS

CrossFire only utilizes the first two cores of your processor, it still does not support multi-threading.

RAM usually doesn't matter for CrossFire if you have beyond 2GB (timing/speed makes virtually no difference)
  • Why does any of this even matter? If you're getting above 120 fps then you shouldn't give a flying fuck
  • I dont feel a difference between when I get 90fps while recording and 220 without recording so as long as you have 100+ you'll be fine, and with that setup you'll most likely have 200+ so you could record at a comfortable fps at high qualities.

8 gigs ddr3 i believe, the ram part should be fine, i checked out my graphics card on youtube for different games, i like the results ;]

I got you thanks, explain what an ssd is i really dont know what it is , explain it in terms of rendering. Ive heard of it but never looked into it.

    Yeah i felt a difference too ;]

I mean im coming here because some people have some nice pcs and they play other games than CF, i just wanna know my fps on this game while recording, I kinda want to aim for 200 stable.
    200

    way overpowered pc for crossfire

    Thank you.

Thanks for everyone who commented and tried to help me out, now I feel a bit more confident, but one last problem, this is the true problem, please watch the video as i suspect many of you won't like reading and going to links by yourself ;] thank you very much if you can help!

  • estimated fps? (2)

    Current pc specs:
    http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/819/26035158.png/

I know its not the best, but hey it drops a decent 100 sometimes 120 in 5v5s, overall smoothness in scrims, not so much while recording but can still hold 80 fps while recording at low settings.

What will my fps be if i change my cpu from 1.6 ghz dual to a 2.8 ghz dual?
  • I have 4 gigs of RAM, a 2.8ghz dual core CPU and a GT 430 1GB card. 5V5 I get 180-200 FPS, 8V8 about120.

i see, i got 3 gigs, going to get 2.8, and a radeon hd 6570

what is your ram speed?ddr what? mine is ddr2

thnx for the info, i can at least estimate and compare to something, my gfx is like 20 bucks more than yours, but you have 1 more gig of ram which is a huge deal, so i think our frames can come close at that aspect
  • That is the RAM type, not speed. It's DDR3 1333MHz.

yeah sorry i couldnt find the right word for some reason, the word "type" i wanted to say something like "category" lol or "kind"
  • If you're looking for higher FPS, download Game Booster. My FPS is much more stable while running it too.

Trust with the pc specs i have now , as you see in that picture, IM WAY AHEAD OF THAT SHT lol, Gamebooster is just a start
  • definite 200+ but you've gotta remember that this game is ........ well stupid so you'll probably end up getting higher fps in other games than this so dont be shocked if you do, 200+ fps is all's you need really but yeah it will go above 200 and more than likely stay there for its duration.

I currently get 230-250 in 5v5 and 190-220 in 8v8 with my 5770 1GB with my processor @ 4.0 ghz and 8GB of ram so, lol cant wait to put my 7970 in rofl.
