Is there ANY way to disable public chat? I'm so tired of this.

    [***xx] : Selamun sh't
[***xx] : 200 word of Egyptian/Turk/German lectures (Macros)
    [***xx] : Camper noob
    [***xx] : Hacker noob
    [***xx] : Hardscoping noob
    [***xx] : M12S/SL/Thommy noob
    [***xx] : noobnoobnoobnoob
[***xx] : alsoiooalosoakosioai, Something I don't know what the hell it means.
    [***xx#1] : pathetic kid///]
    [***xx#2] : shut up noob /] 2 Guys fighting..
    [***xx] : Youtube spams

This is why, I want to disable public chats.. I'm not going to block every 1000 players chat every hour..
This is Cross Fire NA.. Speak English.

Somehow I agree with you, not just block the hole chat just giving you the option to block public chat all together, if your clan mate is their ya can just speak in clan chat or is it a friend? Hey their called whispers ^^ but i don't hate this idea i was playing with a 13 year old Brazilian last nite in a HMX mode that just bugged the hell out of me he kept on complaining and insulting saying stuff I don't even know I just think he was trolling since i kicked him After the game was over but he kept coming back with new account witch seem pointless to be but hey..w.e *Vote for blocking public Chat In Game!*
  • so we have to go through all the trouble to translate because they dont talk english on a english game and server?

What about just taking it easy? No rule ever concieved has remained unbroken. In fact, rules are broken daily, which led some pessimists to the saying that rules are there just to be broken.

It's your choice, but I'd suggest that you stay calmer about the rule thingy, for the sake of your stress levels, your sanity, your worry lines and your hair color.

Finally, just ask yourself one question: Are really raging about some guys who insult you in a language you don't understand?

    best regards,
    Urkel
  • Just try to ignore people spamming or talking innapropriately. You'll find that's quite easy.

Totally wrong, but just from reading your posts, one might get the impression that you're indeed getting mad here...

Anyway, I just continue watching this whole thing and give my two cents when I feel like it..

    best regards,

you never saw me and badmonkey talk did you?
but i dont get why it would even look like im mad....
your just never been on a forum and saw someone talk on there.
well i think. but that means badmonkey is also mad because he do the same like me and everyone else also do so....
  • Why don't you just focus on playing the game and not reading the chat? that may solve your problem.

It's called Assalamu Alaykum, People write it differently but that's how it's announced right.

It's used in Muslim religion (as Hello) which Egyptians/Turkish use.

    yea yea Assalamu Alaykum
Selamun sh't sounds funny. I will use this to welcome other users.

Anyway, I think we should not block it because the players should have their freedom to say what they want, as long as they don't insult other users.

And a complete chat block is not that good too, you wont hear your teammates commands anymore and they might say something important.

Still.. How ever they says it. They spams alot.

selamun aleykum means: peace be with you

and the answer aleykum selam means: peace be with you too

    is this something to hate?

Yes, they spam it all over the place. Should I just yell # I GOT THAT ALREADY STOP SPAMMING, little finger excersice

Just do it like i do:

    Dont pay attention anymore.

If anyone has something valueable to say, he can message me or whisper which has a diff color.

If so.one is really annoying and hes on my team i ask him once to stop spamming, if he doesnt, i start a vote.

But i agree op, the ingame chat isnt worth to pay attention 99% of the time.

You guys think it's easy? My resolution is 1024 x 768, and the friggin chat takes almost 1/4 of the screen + extra spams = 1/4.
  • okay well, yes the s.a. thing is annoying and it should be blocked.

There are several reasons for it.

First they don't use it to say hello, they spam it. They have saved it in their macros and when one of them says s.a. they all spam their macrosa all over the place.

I am not against the s.a. itself, but against the spam.

    Use /d

    It temporary clears the chat.

After 0,0000001 seconds, BOOM, back to normal

so we have to press "/d" just because you dont want that spamming stuff there?
also you know how many times people would have to press it?
  • How come MOD's or GM's don't set opinions on these issues? Saidin, where are you?
  • get a logitech keyboard with macros, set "enter /d enter" as macro. Now set is as infinity loop and you have no chat.
  • Just to point out, it Shouldn't even be difficult to type 2 characters and then pressing enter.

it is, when you are in middle of a fight and have to concentrate. This is why some games have voice chat, because you can't tip in game anyway. Splinter Cell Conviction only has a voice chat because it is a fast game and you don't have time to write.

Same goes for crossfire, you don't have a lot of time to write, even if it's something small.

He he, excuse me for not trying hard to every game I play :-).
If anything, I changed my default font to Calibri. It makes the chat super tiny, making it easier to play :p
  • You should know that they might not understand your language either, right?
If you hate people talking that way, I recommend you to get involved into competitive CF.
