This game is dying.
This isn't an attack or anything against z8, just an observation. From my point of view, the game is nothing like it used to be a year ago. Sure a couple tournaments were held such as the March of the Ghosts, which was a miserable fail, or the fact that new weapons were itroduced and new maps/modes/the usual were added. However, the competitiveness of the game dropped to an all time low, and this has caused many players, like myself, to quit. Let's face it, without a bunch of clans competing for top spot, without a heapload of trashtalk, without ignorant players bragging about thei skill, without constant drama, the game is just not fun. The less and less competitive it is getting, the more and more boring.
For example, in ghost mode a couple years ago, there were a good 10-15 clans that were well balanced and showcased a variety of skill. A lot of tournaments were held to determine the top players, not some stupid win/loss ratio. Now, it is barely 3-4 clans with decent gm players (most of which are nothing compared to the players of the past) and it is the same players running the same clans playing the same opposition for the same end result. The players of today talk more about the past and what they DID than what they are DOING, because as I said, the game is dead.
I'm leaving forever so I thought why not give my 2 cents. Thank you.

Why does everyone complain?
Did I mention, the players are getting dumber and dumber?
If you actually took the time to read, I'm sure I said I was just pointing something out form my perspective on how the game was and how it is. I don't play anymore, I have nothing to complain about. If you don't agree with it, that's your opinion.
PS, this is the barracks, a place for discussion, if threads like these weren't made, what would we talk about? Some shtty bunny-hopping tutorial?

its true, this game just isnt what it used to be, z8games you guys are slipping hard u need to get back on ur game. start by fixing ghost breath...frrreaaal if only there was a way to revive GM
I cant seem to quit this game because i guess im trying to re-live the glorious days when the GM community was booming.. it will never be the same. -
.
even though it is dead right now, 2012 has still been better than 2011.
ghost mode has slowed to a snails pace after every event so far.
2010 march of the ghosts bracket elimination tournament
2011 ESL march ghost mode cups
2012 march of the ghosts 2 clan war server event
2012 march (moved to april) bracket elimination tournament
so if history tells us anything, the next event will be march 2013.Did I mention, the players are getting dumber and dumber?
PS, this is the barracks, a place for discussion
could be because the players are getting younger and younger. i don't think you'll find the barracks section to be the best place to find intelligent players.
one thing that could help is having a ghost mode only section of the forums. clans, players weapons, maps, tactics, guides, pictures. everything gm related. the forums seem to have a high amount of gm players on it. it could really bring all the players closer and attract new ones with the tight community. -

That's comping from the dude who hardly plays in open rooms with normal players and has a signature from another ignorant mod backing up the fact...
It actually PRETTY DAMN CLEAR as to what forced away 90% of the competitive players...beyond the lack of tournaments (didn't one of the teams that played to represent the NA version actually come back from not playing the game AT ALL to participate?) and blatant disregard for regional player satisfaction (just played 20 rounds today trying to complete daily missions...kicked out of 18 of them for PING or pub-clans who need to use kicks to get their kills. All BR and Turks of course...) and Z8 obvious attempts to make the game into a bankroll instead of...well...A GAME.
2 Years ago I could LAUGH MY ASS OFF at someone getting kicked because THEY CLEARLY WERE CHEATING IN SOME FASHION...TODAY, no one from the United States or Canada that lives within 200 miles of the server can even get a good damn match in if their clan mates are offline and they have time to spare! 18 fricking kicks! In UNDER AN HOUR!
It's dead. Simply put. Most games get a good 2 years without groups of people doing things they shouldn't (Chinese farming bots in MMOs, BRs hacking in FPS games...more then just CF)...after THAT, it's all downhill. CF running in a 2005/2006 engine, they've made PLENTY of money since then in order to start working on a sequel/upgrade, now that the next gen of F2P FPS games in about to launch and CF's user-base is going to drop like a stone off a cliff. And don't even get me started on that "But if they upgrade I won't be able to play it" junk either. Get a damn summer job. Buy the parts you need to upgrade to a low-end modern day PC. DONE. Can't find a job? Well too bad, because your days with CF are numbered anyway...then what will you do? Back to MapleStory? -
And you can always find a clan with some good players.
I found a clan that kicked me because I had to leave a CW so I could go to work...
Doubt that would have happened 2 years ago. "Seems fine" is the first thing they say before the building collapses around them...or they bite into rotten food. -

MapleStory? Ewwwww....
1st off, I'm not trying to back-up the game and as much as I do hate the registry issues and the brain-dead BR's it's the only FPSF2P game that has a gameplay I can cope with. It's not my favorite type of gameplay (running around having to do everything because it's a miracle if your team can actually get out of the spawn point) but it's still entertaining.
2nd I'm not sure what game I would go to if this game does die and I don't have my new equipment by that time. My set-up is just enough to run CF at ~30 FPS so I can't really play any other F2P games out there that are actually good without running 15 FPS if I'm lucky..
3rd It is almost an assurance that z8/g4/smilegate will never update the graphics or engine for this game because of all the foreigners running on wooden modems and still have a way to suit up head-to-toe in premium items every week. -
This game has been out for a few years already. I think some people just get bored with it- like any game- and quit and move on to something else. Most of my old clan mates have left just because they got busy with real life -school or work and families.
Other games have come out since this one. Even Suba got bored with this game and moved on to something else (the dancing FPS) and from what I read of the game with Suba it's also filled with hacks and 10-13 year olds (no offense to 13 year olds here) -
This game isn't dying. Well, Crossfire, as in the actual game itself, is not dying. Look into Asia and europe, it's booming everywhere.
However, CF NA is dying, but it's simply because there's less people. However, rather than calling it dying, I would think it's a contraction, slimming down. Yes, it runs on a 2005 engine, but that's still young considering some of the F2P games out there.
This game (CF NA) will only start dying when every room is inundated with hakers. So far, I'm the haker, so meh. -
Pleaase, call me TheyTried x.x
Oh, is that you? :O :O :O
Well, thats all true. I know i am one that ruins the game because of my lag, i wish i could go to CF Latin America, but there is too much hackers... Yesterday i just found 7 hackers in a sewers. -

This.
While I haven't encountered the same growth of CF EU as the Asian and South American versions, the game is still growing. I do find it funny that people think CF NA is the main focus of SmileGate. They're aiming to please the Asian versions first. But I guess people from the NA can't deal with Murka not being number one. -
i agree the game is dieing, but its not all the fault of z8 and the game itself, but its been out long enough now and most people dont even play pc games anymore, the crossfire population is turk/egy/br which are all viewed as an annoyance and the community which the game was meant for is pretty much dieing, people mostly play COD until it gets old then they get social again until the next COD comes out and when it gets old... they get social again and wait for the next cool game to come out...
pretty big waste of life if you ask me, i wish ihad never started playing now i cant quit until i reach a certain target goal i set in mind -
This isn't an attack or anything against z8, just an observation.
Why would a attack against z8 be bad? It's not bad to complain about something. From my point of view, the game is nothing like it used to be a year ago.
Well if you ask me crossfire was always bad.
Sometime ago I got bored from Counter Strike Source and was looking for a new game. A friend of mine suggested me crossfire, because he played it sometimes and he needed a friend to play it with. He said that it is kinda like counter strike source but with new weapons. That's why I joined crossfire but I really don't understand how people look at crossfire's pictures and say "hey this game looks like fun!"For example, in ghost mode a couple years ago, there were a good 10-15 clans that were well balanced and showcased a variety of skill.
More players means more bad players.
you can either have 100 good players and 1.000 bad players or 150 good players and 10.000 bad players. The more players a game has to more bad players are there.
