People that say the M700 is better than the AWM are kidding themselves. There are 2 arguments going on here and yet some people are trying to argue them as one.
First argument:
Which is better, the AWM or M700?
Obviously the AWM is better. The free online dictionary defines better as: "5. More advantageous or favorable; improved: a better chance of success." Now you obviously have more chance of success with an AWM than you do an M700, which means the AWM is better than the M700.
Second argument:
The AWM is overpowered
Point #1: Frecklez is suggesting the AWM is overpowered because it's better than the M700. The way she's stating things, she's basically saying just because the AWM is better than 1 weapon, that means it's overpowered. Well ask yourself this, is the M4A1 or MP5 overpowered just because you'll get way more kills with them than an UZI or maybe a FAMAS? Just because a weapon beats another weapon does not mean it's overpowered.
Point #2: Frecklez is stating that the fact that the AWM can 1 shot kill anywhere makes it overpowered. While this argument is not black or white, the side that says the AWM is not overpowered has a lot more evidence. Questions to ask yourself that proves the AWM is not overpowered:
Why is the AWM allowed in every single league and tournament? Aren't leagues and tournaments normally supposed to show who has the most skill?
If what the people here are saying is true, why wouldn't everybody in a league or tournament use an AWM if they're overpowered? (Some leagues only allow one sniper per team, but others don't have a limit)
If you give an AWM to a complete noob, do you think they will actually do well with it?
If you give a Scar Light or an M12s to a complete noob, do you think they will do well with them?
(The point being the Scar Light and M12s simply require you to hold down your mouse button and aim at the person whilst not considering recoil at all).
I hate arguing, it takes way too much time like this to do it properly, but you can see the AWM is not better than the M700 at the very least. Please don't argue for the sake of arguing. -

I just had to define what better meant for them. Now that everyone knows what better means, with the information already provided my myself and VATAV it's obvious that the AWM is better than the M700. It's already been beat to death, no point saying everything over again.Assuming 2 players of equal skill, hardware, and location. The only difference being the weapon. The Awm player would have a higher chance of winning then the M700.
The M700 requires more skill to equal or beat the AWM.
Assuming even skilled players, both with a 50% chance of getting the first shot of each encounter, the AWM would get twice or more the amount of kills.
AWM vs M700(Both aiming for body):
Round 1:
M700 shoots first, Awm user down to 20ish HP.
Awm user shoots a few micro seconds later, M700 dies.
1-0
Round 2:
Awm shoots first, M700 dies.
2-0
Round 3:
M700 shoots first, Awm dies because of only 20ish HP.
2-1
Round 4:
Awm shoots first, M700 dies.
3-1
Round 5:
M700 shoots first, Awm down to 20ish HP.
Awm shoots a few micro seconds later, M700 dies.
4-1
Round 6:
Awm shoots first, M700 dies.
5-1
Round 7:
M700 shoots first, Awm dies because of only 20ish HP.
5-2
Round 8:
Awm shoots first, M700 dies.
6-2
Round 9:
M700 shoots first, Awm down to 20ish HP.
Awm shoots a few micro seconds later, M700 dies.

After 10 rounds Awm has 4 times more kills then M700, total scores 8-2.
If we were to repeat but assume both aim for head, the match would instead be very even with M700 missing slightly more often then AWM do to it not having 100% accuracy.
At the lower skills levels, AWM wins hands down.

awm got 1 hit kill on the upper body and there are awm with 10 bullets.
yes its slow thats true but it dont matter anymore these days because people bhop to move faster. also alot of people use the awm like a shotgun wait till you come out and your closs they no scope you with one hit on your chest.
so i wouldnt even call the awm a SNIPER RIFE.
also the fact that you did that 1vs1 you with a awm and him with a m700.
but he dont allways use it so hes not that use to it to the speed and stuff.
PS how good are you with a m700?

I'm probably better than you with an M700, and mine's been broken for probably 2 years.
Let's 1v1, me with an AWM you with an M700- oh wait, you don't want to because you know I'll win.
Bhopping does not let you bypass the weight. It may let you go a little bit faster, but the M700 is still faster. Also what you cna do with an AWM you cna do with an M700 or any other weapon, so you can't use that as an argument.
Yes it does 1 shot kill for an upper body hit, however you only have 1 shot, maybe 2 if you're lucky. Most rifles 1 shot kill to the head, and they have 30 shots. Seems pretty even to me.
