Community Update - SnD Tournament
Hello CF Community!
We are here today to give you a little official word about the CF Search and Destroy Tournament we promised a few weeks back.
This post is to remind everyone that we have not forgotten about this and that we will be running a tournament very soon.
The delays on this are mostly due to some new scheduling and event planning that we are doing internally. It really doesn't change much how you guys will see events or all the innovative and fun events that we do here at Cross Fire. But the result is that everything was put on hold while we sort out some internal paper work first!
The SnD Tournament will feature a top prize as well as additional prizes (beyond just namecards and sprays) for members of the winning clans and the clans who finish at the top.
We will be holding the round robin very similar to how we did the Ghost Mode tournament and there will be increased minimum requirements for players to participate.
We will also be holding an elimination bracket tournament once the round-robin is over. These matches will take place between the top clans to determine who gets to play in the final game for the top prize.
Most of the rules are set up and we're going over a few things with our technical department to make sure we're tracking the proper things and we'll be able to announce the dates for the round robin and the tournament soon.
Thanks for your patience on this one, and stay tuned for the full announcement coming soon!

will this be ran like autumn assault?
not quite. it will work like motg2.
basically you go into the clan server and face which ever clan you want and try to rack up as many wins against sub par teams as you can while trying to avoid cheating clans.
but unlike last time, once they determined the top 8,16, or 32 teams with the highest win%, (yet to be determined) these teams will do a bracket style elimination. -

Will there be any sort of entrance fee? Or is it too early to say?
Our goal is to get to a point where we can register teams. In which case there may or may not be an entrance fee for regular leagues and tournaments.
For this one however, no it is a general round-robin style league that will take place on the clan server for a 3-4 week period followed by an elimination tournament of the top teams at the end of it. -

Why are you not answering my questions?
Will there be rules if someone DCs in the Clan Server? Team with the DC quits, self nade to same score, then carry on? -

Because this is just a heads-up that the SnD tournament is still a go, just slightly delayed.
This isn't some Q&A moment. Sorry bud, you're going to have to wait in line like the rest of us for more information in the future about rules & regulations for this tourny. -

Well i hope we cna join aleast and have a good time, its nice to win but winning is not everything the memories you have is what is important....
OldLegends is more of a ghost mode clan. Not sure if they will be able to take it all the way like they did in march of the ghost. Good luck anyway -

PS. Host errors and "middle quiters" will make this tournament a fake -

Because we haven't announced the tournament yet.
This is just me simply updating you that we haven't forgotten about this.
If you've noticed there has been some instabilities in connections and servers in the last couple of weeks. We have been addressing these issues and have returned the service to more stability. This is another reason we want to make sure the tournament is done correctly rather than rushed together.
Disconnects will most likely be handled in a similar way to the Ghost Mode tournament. Where the game will have to "disconnect" down to a certain number to discount the match. To the point where it is still a win if the entire other group dc's.
The Disconnect rule we set up for the Ghost Mode tournament was effective in the fact that it rarely punished the winning clan. Yes, a team who was winning, had a disconnect and went on to lose the game did suffer a loss. However that case was easily outweighed by the fact that all wins were counted versus teams who would just quit out.
The full rules will be listed with the tournament when its posted. Yes we said it was coming in May, but it ended up better for everyone to delay it. Besides, we had a few people who complained it was in Exam time anyways! So this gives them the time to participate!
