Stuck on Windows7 Premium 64 bit Log-in Screen
Hi,
Well basically... Yesterday I cleaned my Hardware and Software & defragged my computer using Smart Defrag v 2.2 and also changed my computers' settings to the highest performance options.
I thought that like this, my computer would be even faster and better but today I turned my computer on, typed the password and my computer kept stuck on the Windows Welcome Screen and I think it could be due to a program that I installed to change my Windows Log-in Background (it worked, my background was changed) but now I can't use my computer... Is it a bug or a virus? It would be very strange for it to br a virus since yesterday I also did a complete virus check and nothing was found, my pc is cleaned and organized since I also use programs like CCleaner to fix errors etc., could anyone help me please?
I know this isn't about CrossFire but it is inderectly connected to it since I can't play the game if my computer doesn't work.
Thank you

Your computer more than likely has corrupted Windows Files. This can happen due to a lot of things from manually shutting off the computer during start-up to changing the smallest setting in which the computer will still work during that session but after shutdown or hibernation the computer will not restart.
Do a System Repair, that should do it. (need your installation disk for this)
This process should take anywhere from 1-2 hours. -
Windows 7 is not good for your pc since you got such weak hardware I suggest you just install Windows XP
way better for you as I suggested in the other thread.
So forgot about that windows 7 and install XP.
So ya.... ask a friend to burn a Windows XP SP3 cd for you or do it your self if you have another lappy/pc etc (You can also use a usb with 1 gb google on how to install using a usb)

If your legit windows then ignore my WAT post etc. But reboot the pc and see if you can get into the recovery mode and try and check the computer for errors.why are u accusing me of having a non legit copy? o.O it already came with the pc.
Bottom text found here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/What-are-the-system-recovery-options-in-Windows-7
To open the System Recovery Options menu on your computer- Remove all floppy disks, CDs, and DVDs from your computer, and then restart your computer using the computer's power button.
- Do one of the following:
- If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer.
- If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to highlight the operating system you want to repair, and then press and hold F8.
- On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight Repair your computer, and then press Enter. (If Repair your computer isn't listed as an option, then your computer doesn't include preinstalled recovery options, or your network administrator has turned them off.)
- Select a keyboard layout, and then click Next.
- On the System Recovery Options menu, click a tool to open it.

I thought you had FPS problems because of your crappy CPU
Anyway forget what I said than must have been someone else than...................
But oke try safe mode? (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode)
Just before the windows 7 loading and after the BIOS boot screen press F8 the whole time and it should give you options to boot up in Safe mode.
Chose safe mode to boot up in.
If it works you can login with the administrator account(It should show a administrator account automatically) than

Okay i scheduled the scan now i restart and boot it on afe mode again after the scan or turn it on. on normal mode? -

I did what it told me to do on the WebSite, then I restarted my computer, it got scaned and I chose to turn the computer on normal mode, then typed my password and it still kept stuck on the Welcome screen, after typing my password. If instead of typing my password I click on the right bottom of the screen and chose the option to turn off or reboot the pc all the options get stuck just like the Welcome one so I have to turn my computer off by using the power button!
BTW, when using Safe Mode I deleted the file that made me change the windows7 log-in background since I thought/think it is the source of the bug!
Is there anything left to do before spending hundreds so they can repair it in a shop?

Then try what I said earlier.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Create-a-system-repair-disc
Bootup in [Safe Mode] and create a repair disk.
The link probided will show you how to create a repair disk.
Once you create the repair disk you can use it to repair the system.
However, I am not entirely sure that the repair disk will not have the same error that you currently have thus it would not fix the error at all. But it is worth a shot.
If that does not work and you have a friend or another computer that has the EXACT same operating system as you then you can have them create a repair disk for you. (ie. if you have Windows 7 32bit then you must have a repair disk from another computer that has Windows 7 32 bit) -
Yes, I can.
Than the best and easiest solution is to go to a older system restore

If his Windows files are damaged creating a new repair disk would be useless now.
Till he first has a good running OS -

That is why I said to get one from a friend or another computer as well.
System Restore might work, or it might not, depending on how deep the corrupted files are in the system.
But if you have no one that you know of that can give you a repair disk that matches your system then restore would be the next option. -
I have chosen the option of using the System Recovery so I folowed the suggested steps by SamuraiMoMo, then when I was searching for the System Recovery it said that the file didn't exist but then I remembered that my compuer is in Portuguese so I wrote: Recuperação do Sistema that is the translation to System Recovery then I opened the System Recovery, and I could chose two restore points, one of them was just before turning the computer and it said: Critic Windows Update.. :O So I clicked it and the system was recovered successfuly, then I turned the pc on with the normal mode but still had the problem so I had to shut it down again (with the power button), then I restarted the computer in Safe Mode and NOW a window popped up saying: System Recovery was completed successfuly.
Now I will restart the pc in normal mode, shall I? -

If nothing appears to be wrong then do a normal bootup. -
AAAAAAAWWWWWWWWW YEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!
I chose another System Recovery Point, that was 15 minuts before the previous one and yeah everything is working fine.
Thank you so much for all your support on this hard moment of my life! xD
love you

If windows was pre-installed, you should either have recovery disk(s) or you should have the ability to create recovery disks from a hidden recovery partition. (windows + Drivers + pre-installed software)
I suggest you investigate and if necessary burn your recovery disks ASAP -
